OFP_PUPSI 0 Posted November 20, 2005 Dear OFP Community, After a year, the WWIIEC team and I are happy to release the next version of Anjou … Anjou 1939-1944 V3.0 ! I've spent a lot of time to make some improvements to the "older" regions of Anjou. I've also created complete new areas for playing scenario's other than just WWII missions in OFP. Anjou V3.0 has a high density of objects (vegetation) and is built with the scope to bring up an island best used for infantry and tank battles as seen in western front of WWII. You will find also larger open areas, but mainly it covers the style of the 1930´s or 1940´s, which means the farming areas are not so industrialized as they are today. Anjou will give you a good feeling of how difficult it was, to handle smaller engagements in a difficult landscape. It will bring you to the areas where soldiers could just stop tank platoons with a Panzerfaust or Panzerschreck, and advancing proved difficult, as it was necessary to flush out pockets of determined enemy resistance in the next hedgerow. Some facts of new Anjou V3.0: - Overall ca. 115 km˛ land, more than 200 km of roads, 16 km coastline etc… - I added a coastline to Anjou, with some smaller island - A rail road line is built in, in the northern part of Anjou. - A various number of new villages and farms are added - A second air field is added to the map. As you can think only one them is working for the AI. But of course both can be used by human players. - River system is expanded. So you have some more bridges to defend - In the east you find an alpine area. It might not fit overall to Anjou, but I just liked to have something like this in my island. - A big industrial area and a smaller harbor to the north - A lot of little and bigger places to explore …. WW2Weasel and the other team colleagues from WWIIEC spent a lot of time in beta testing. So we hope you will also like Anjou 1939-1944 as we do and enjoy playing in this nice atmosphere. You will find the download links on WWIIEC News homepage or direct: Anjou V3.0 Required Addon Package and a campaign will follow soon. Here are some pictures of Anjou 1939-1944 V3.0: Hope you will fun with Anjou ! Cheers, OFP_PUPSI

honchoblack 2 Posted November 20, 2005 On my first spin on the island I found following suggestions. The map icon in the map selection screen could be "nicer", but that just might be taste, the "2" seems a little plain, for what the island has to offer. Following structures cant be entered by the AI, I know it looks nice to have a "intact" wall structure arround the house. But without a broken down wall section somewhere, the AI cant enter, neither the front porch nor the back door. This tree is growning in the wrong spot, location is FC/61. I love the detail on the island so far, excellent and very natural look, which captures the look and feel of France during the 2. world war. I will search some more and post accordingly (incase further constructive feedback is welcomed).
OFP_PUPSI 0 Posted November 20, 2005 Hey thanks for comment ! The houses with the fences are more or less an "eye candy". AI has so or so in OFP problems with entering buildings and such kind of construction. The second bug is just a nasty one, while I was correcting this area and it seems that a "forest quader" just set on the street. I will keep it on the correction list ... Thanks for reporting. OFP_PUPSI 0 Posted November 20, 2005 Just report everything which can be corrected ... I will put in the corrections in version 3.1 later.
Daniel 0 Posted November 20, 2005 Nice work mate! I've just been buzzing low in a C47 dropping crates, I'm gonna have some gritty fire fights now. Â EDIT: Wow! It's MUCH more impressive from the ground. I just had a battle in Montignac, and the island just feals very detailed and huge. I can see myself playing this all day. HotShot 0 Posted November 20, 2005 Nice island, looks great. Lots of detail and realistic place, good job. One thing though, the Barracken.pbo file in the Required Addons pack is an old version (2003). Is this deliberate? mirror for island and for addons pack. ebns72 0 Posted November 20, 2005 This island is way too laggy It is a shame, because it so detailed. This is has great, wide open farmland for battles, but it is ruined by having to turn the fog way up just so you can get a decent framerate.
Parker 0 Posted November 20, 2005 There is an official WWIIEC campaign released for the island. It includes 7 missions, and you fill the role of both infantry and airborne during the first 5 days of the Allied push into Anjou. 14.3 MB Download From FilePlanet (it's free to join)
nominesine 0 Posted November 20, 2005 The screenshots looks impressive. Good job. Will try it asap @Parker A campaign makes it sound even more interesting. I'm at work and stuck with a MacIntosh, so I cannot check the content of the download until monday. Is the campaign you're refering to part of the DL, or are you making idle promises about future releases  EDIT: Just came home and noticed the DL link for some stupid reason these links doesn't show up on my mac
Daniel 0 Posted November 20, 2005 Oh great, a campaign! I'm in love with this island by the way, it's absolutely huge!

CanadianTerror 0 Posted November 20, 2005 I just took a test run on this map and its just awesome! A bit of lag but nothing terrible.
AKM 0 Posted November 21, 2005 It is an orgasm in WW2-themed island form. Amazing work. Found some more trees and bushes growing in the middle of a dirt track. (Considering it's a dirt track, maybe not all that implausible.) Coordinates are De-24, on the Northern detatched 'mini-island' of Anjou.
