Or why not just a "sight" where you see your gun just like if you'd be aiming from the hip? Nothing in the centre, so the more exprienced shooters could shoot more accurately than the inexprienced ones.

Try holding and/or shooting a revolver/pistol like that, you'll notice that with a bit of practice, you should be able to hit accurately to at least 20 meters.

Well u see personally i think that would be best, what ur saying dynamite, imagine how kick ass multiplayer could be

With good gun slingers hitting the mark and novices missing etc, but it just depends, cos what ur suggesting is a deviance in the style of play most ofp'ers would be used too.

So i leave the question up to u guys, say aye jobbies if u want a tiny optic or nae wae if u want to develop the new idea of pistol play,

Actually, there ARE some guns you have to aim a bit lower/higher than what the sight says. Or pistols with huge silencers crazy_o.gif

Want an example? Inv44:s Grease Gun was such that you gotta get used to it for a while. (The quickest way to learn how to use a gun is to go into gunfire)

Maybe the pistol could be held a bit higher than what you'd really see, as a compromise. And you could always do the CS-trick: Make your very own crosshair of tape and stick it to your monitor. biggrin_o.gif

an example of a new building, simple, runs fast, looks pretty enuf, the island will have hopefully some 50 custom buildings, every town will have at least 1 individualistic landmark building,

The MG in "Wild Bunch" was not a gatling. I'm not sure if I can ID it, but it wasn't a Gatling thats for sure. At least in "The Good, The Bad, And The Ugly" there was some Gatling Gun uperated by a Union soldier.

In that movie was something like a WW1 Maxim machine gun.

As soon as I get my hands to the units, i'll start working on a Wild West RPG. And every time I see a western movie, I just gotta go and play around in CWMOD.

Just to let you scurvy dogs know, that i suffered a massive critical computie failure, thats why theres been no posts or news, and it took me 2 weeks to get it all fixed (do not ask why)

In any case, bad news, is that it is an unwelcome delay, but the good news is, - all the files are SAVED, which is a relief, cos i thought id lost em!

Right so some news anyway, the island continues, the towns, on the islands have custom models, (some are ancient things borrowed, but that is less than 5% and those authors are being contacted) - like zwaders old water tower (that was retextured by zalmoxis)

Most the new buildings are hence new, their models are low poly so are there textures, but they do however look attractive, (and are at least i think, to the standard of bis (at least) with some buildings looking quite exceptional.

Now im still fixing up the compie right now, but work will soon be continuing, and there will be a big pic update.

One of the unique features of our map, is that each town has its own identity, and has many buildings that are unique only to that location. So there is a much reduced sensation of cloning.

In any case work continues, and updates will come soon. Thanx for supporting the mod etc

Yeah the mod continues, but i had a wee holiday recently! lol

There is most to be done to the island, and there is stuff to be done with weapons (more) there are geolods to be added to men (don't ask why)

Also there are cavalry and horse animations to be worked on.

I would like help from you filthy scum out there, particularly if you are an animator! ANIMATOR is desired, cos i am getting some help, but only from raping other mod members on my msn, a dedicated animator assistant would be very appreciated.

In any case, i will also be applying elements of the ECP to this mod, including dynamic sounds and other goodies.

Oh god!

Warning taken Dynamic Cow, just i like the way the guys shout stuff while their fighting, so it will be parts of that technology i'll apply.

At the moment im looking at cavalry.

To cut a long story short, i don't think the way its been applied at the mo is the best way, so were making an AI cavalry that will be a unit, (rider + horse) and sure, when it dies, the rider and horse will die, but the good news is, that it will be fully animated, no half vehicle this half unit here with scripts coming out our asses.

Its laggy at the mo and so hence our new approach. Now it won't be easy but when its done, (im not boasting here cos i aint the only guy working on this) it should be a very pretty and useable addon.

Note the player will still have a vehicle horse he can use or for any squad members. (but trust me this new method will reduce lad by x3, of current cav, plus make em far far far more responsive than any cavalry coded vehicle is, in fighting)

Very early start, note the heads not jiggling that will come next, and then the rider,

Geesh, I'm a prophet! Told ya that in the CWMOD topic at page 30 or so...

I have two problems with ECP: 1. I'm too hard-headed to use it 2. She takes a whole lot of diskspace. Too bad my OFP is installed on C, so not too much to waste on...

Ah well i like a lot of the effects on ecp, and it is a lot more lag friendly than it used to be, but it wouldnt be like 'ecp' it would just be some little parts of ecp so don't worry its not like a big ecp thing with weird installations and large file sizes

This mod will be fairly big tho, when its released, not ridiculous but theres gonna be a lot in it, enuf to fulfil any dark fetish regarding the civil war and the wild west of the 1860s.

Ironically tho i want to get this done so we can do our second phase stuff hehe, which is the french occupation of mexico dada! But phase 1 must be done first smile_o.gif
