343rdBadger 0 Posted May 16, 2005 this patch thing isn't working ..its asking for a pbo (LSR_delta90.pbo)that i don't have???...yet i instralled the previous version fine?whats the deal?
MATRA 0 Posted May 16, 2005 i cant patch with the exe file....i get a "file access denied" error first time i got it a about 6%, after that i get it at 0.0% :/ anyone know why? is anyone able to help me with this? Same here 0.0% time is because it renames the PBO filo to lsr_delta.pbo.bak, and creates a new one with 3Kb
Landwarrior87 0 Posted May 16, 2005 loooks like you guys are in trouble them.. the exe was so you wouldnt have to re-download the entire thingover again.. if it didnt work then i suggest you find the earlier pbo's and patch them manually.
Laser 0 Posted May 16, 2005 @All: Check that ALL required files are present (LSR_delta.pbo, LSR_delta90.pbo, LSR_rang.pbo, LSR_rang90.pbo, LSR_sfsnip.pbo and LSR_uswp.pbo) and check their file attributes (remove Read Only, Archive, System attributes whatsoever). I think it might help. This patch SO FAR fixes only config bugs, no model improvements / changes have been yet made. There might be another one released later, which will focus on model bugs and (maybe) will have new weapons added. Please report any other bugs / errors that you might find. @Nebular: Sorry for that little mistake with optics. Must have been missed that on final checks, sorry again. And it so seems you're the only one getting that desert sniper problem... personally i don't get any problems, during the making of the patch i have applied it almost a dozen times and no bugs that have been reported fixed or new bugs came up. Nevertheless, i shall look into it.
theavonlady 2 Posted May 16, 2005 I would suggest removing MAAM compatibility, if that is the cause of these errors.MAAM was just a "work in progress" before JAM3. MAAM will not be updated any more - it is now a "dead" project. I have also suggested to RHS to remove MAAM compatiblity from their weapons. Removing MAAM compatibility would also allow players to save a bit of memory, as they wouldn't need it installed. Cornhelium, could/should we add MAAM tags to JAM3 just to keep compatibility between the 2? Your call. ;)

cornhelium 0 Posted May 16, 2005 Hi Avon, Quote[/b] ]Cornhelium, could/should we add MAAM tags to JAM3 just to keep compatibility between the 2? Your call. ;) Better to keep things simple I think. No sense in duplicating options for addon makers. Sorry Laser for OT - cheers, CH
Commando84 0 Posted May 16, 2005 tested the new patched units and they work very good, not so many close quarter causalties like it used to happen great work!
343rdBadger 0 Posted May 16, 2005 for those having trouble like i was...all i needed to do was rename(copied and pasted) ANY pbo (TOO the folder) the exe  was asking for and drop it into said folder. Then the exe installer is tricked into overwriting  it with the new one.
Commando84 0 Posted May 18, 2005 been making a mission using these guys for a month or so now and here is the end result , it uses the newly released RHS troops too because i thought they where cooler than the old earl n suchey russians  there is a readme with the .rar file with links to addons needed to run the mission. btw its coop but i think it can be played in sp too New link below

Dreadnaught 0 Posted May 19, 2005 for those having trouble like i was...all i needed to do was rename(copied and pasted) ANY pbo (TOO the folder) the exe  was asking for and drop it into said folder. Then the exe installer is tricked into overwriting  it with the new one. could you elaborate on that ? I don't quite know what you mean; rename what and into what folder ? This can't be a broken dl because it unrared without probs.. must be something else that's causing this "File access denied " error.
Dreadnaught 0 Posted May 20, 2005 Ok...no need to answer..found it out myself. As I assumed the 'file access error' was not due to a bad dl. I transfered the files to another (old Win98) Machine and there the patching worked without prob. It must be something with XP. Somehow the NTFS-File System or indexing Service or whatever must hold a lock on these files. Needs further investigating. If someone finds out, please post here. Landwarrior87 0 Posted May 21, 2005 Anyone got any missions on Mapfact Nogova with these units? or for that matter in any woodland enviroments?
Commando84 0 Posted May 21, 2005 i have on regular nogova, but the mission uses some mapfact stuff in it though the mission isn't 110% complete and i yesterday when playing with a friend discovered a small problem that needs to be fixed.
LizardX 0 Posted May 26, 2005 Execuse me, but what do I have to do if I want to patch the files, and get that "File acces denied" error? Thanks... OK, got it: you have to copy all the .pbos to the "Documents" folder. Then apply the patch as it is, after that copy back all the files to the original addons folder and voila! Thx me
bushlurker 46 Posted May 27, 2005 Hi Everybody! OK - firstly... Awesome work Laser... I thought HYK was great until I checked out your last version... BUT - with the new version...??? Is it just me or is anybody else having problems with the new head model??? Let's get a few things said and avoid all the obvious comments... Yes - I know it's a new model Yes - I found the face textures packed inside the .pbo and used one of them as a template, assuming they'd match the new head model Yes - I know the guy has a big nose, though I'd think twice about telling him to his face OK - here's a picture of a (very) first draft of a face texture I'm doing for one of our new clan guys... (Hope that pic link works OK!?) Like I said - it's just his passport foto lifted and dropped onto one of the faces included with the new pack as a template... no other editing as yet... so... once the smarta*s remarks are over..... The unit on the right is a standard HYK ranger with this face texture... now, you could lift that image as it stands, drop it back on the guys passport and he'd walk thru customs - almost... god help me but it DOES look like him ;) The unit on the left is THE SAME FACE dropped on to a new LSR ranger... OK - let's all pause for a moment and compare the two units.... Laser - You Rock!!! NO comparison! - but let's now look at the faces... who the hell IS that guy on the left??? Is that the same guy?? If I was passport control I'd be calling security!!! Is there something I can do about this??? I REALLY want to use these units, and I'm drooling, waiting for the upcoming SEALS ones - especially if you have them looking a bit ragtag individualistic as real SEALS seem to be... but my guys really wanna look like themselves!!! Ideas, comments, suggestions... anyone... (constructive ones, preferably) Thanks Bushlurker
MilitiaSniper 0 Posted May 27, 2005 Before I download. Are all the bugs fixed? Sincerely, MilitiaSniper
AKM 0 Posted May 27, 2005 The "problem" with the head-model is that it's the Nashe Orujie one. I'm trying to remember the nickname a friend came up with for it. Ah yeah, he called it the "Elf head" or some-such. It's on the RHS units too.
