New AH-64D Pack

This is a completely new AH-64D - new model, textures, etc.

It's not completely finished, but before I can finish it, I need to know how well it works. So, this is a open beta for everyone to try and tell me how much it sucks ( blues.gif ).

Well rather than just goof with it myself, going to put this in the hands of a couple of real Apachee crews who are used to VSB1 and OFP1 and get their input on this.

Oh trust me, it's not going to be anything like the real AH-64s. I doubt they'll have much to say about it.

Have yee faith, the Captain is cool, and so is most of his group. The guys over at DM love the new A10s, shuld please the Army Rotorheads... Think they been jelouse...

I just took it up for a test flight and it was great man, good job!!! You know when I saw your first screen shot I thought it was a WAH-64D. Slap a Royal Army roundel on there and wham! You'll have given us something a lot of the community has longed for, an WAH-64D to escort the Lynx, the Pumas, and the Sea Kings that have been released, and air cover for the PUKF infantry biggrin_o.gif . Keep up the great work man!

wow..the laser designator works very well, painted target, switched to hellfires, locked on laser and boom smile_o.gif

All this with AI gunning, i wonder if it works in MP?

the the britsh army WAH-64s differ from their US army counter parts more than you might think, they have different engines which provide 20% more thrust than the US army version, a new avionics pakage and the rocket pods we use are different to, if u want to read up on it i suggest u go here, its the armys page for its new WAH-64

looks like the longbow radar is a bit small btw, when looking at the screens.

Nice flight model. Powerful Hellfires (I like that biggrin_o.gif )

A few issues (prolly known). Sys-mfd does not show damage. AI gunner tend to turn off the laserdesignator after a while when it is on and Hellfires selected. Doors can be opened during flight. A few pointless MFD-pages (placeholders for something to come?): FLIR and map.

Top-speed a little low. Should be closer to 315km/h.

Missing texture on compass in pilot pit (I assume pit-textures are not done).

Looks like a clipping issue looking at the gunner's head from the pilot pit. His neck is visible through the upper-part of the pilot dash. Navlights are cool. Need a light on the tail too.

All this might be nitpicking but that is just because I'm suck a huge Apache-fan tounge_o.gif

Looking very good overall. Huge potential. Keep up the great work, mate smile_o.gif

I really enjoyed flying with this. But the blue colors on the missile pods are not really my thing. But all in all, a good addon.

A thing i noticed is that the "flare" system works even when the engine is off, I landed the chopper on a fence (so it tumbled upside down) , took the AA launcher of it, and fired at it.. no flares, but the missle did take a diffrent path...

If the flare system is supposed to work without power(?!) fix it so the flares are visible, if it isn't... well.. wink_o.gif .

Nice work on the chopper! I see something big coming up here!

I love the MFD functions, suspension script, and the model is great.

For the final I'd suggest consulting with Footmunch to define the materials and add specular highlights.

I wonder if the target-sharing script from DKM's Tunguska could be adapted to the Radar Longbow? With this, having the radar turned on makes you more visible to the enemy, but your wingman can be sharing your target info, sneaking in for the kill in Radar-off mode ghostface.gif

Great work anyway - it's almost like playing Longbow2 again biggrin_o.gif

DKM's Tunguska's scripts lag way wya to much to use..

and this thing lags every time an helo is shot down..

Ok, did an MP run with it, it went well. Only think that sucked was my (non-AI!)board gunner, that guy should stick to the ground work. Even while i was busy evading hills and RPG's i could still notice an opfor lining up his Strela for a shot, sadly my gunner did not.......... tounge_o.gif

Elite chopper though, good job.
