I assure you, our AH-64 pack will be as realistic as OFP allows AND MP friendly at the same time. It will also include customization for different countries and other types of insignia on various parts of the apache.

Second, I really don't care what franze and xnodunitx are doing, actually franze offered to help me when I was working on my other pack, but yea we did have different opinions, franze trying to start a model from scratch, and I am using the BIS model since I believe that I can fix all of its problems.

Plzz make them so good, you both, Ill start crying when I have to choose witch heli I want to play with. wink_o.gif

The only thing Im worried about is that, we dont have any good Apache pilots, not even good AH pilots, the only good pilots I have seen are the ones from BAS, but those are more CH pilots

Well like I said earlier I am planning on having some, but first I will need to get some help by someone who is good at modeling infantry.

Thanks for the pictures, they will most definatly help. As for the gun there on the seat, I think I could just add a simple line in the config to enable the pilots gun proxy, so you will be able to see whatever rifle the pilot is carrying.

Please do stick your nose and camera into every possible place you're allowed to biggrin_o.gif

If you can get good close-up photos of the cockpits (if you're allowed to) I bet all Apache-mods can benefit from that as its pretty hard to find good pit-shots.

Personally I'm very interested in a good clear photo of the pilot collective (have'nt found a good pic yet).

Yes im probably allowed to do that! Im going with a friend of mine, his unlce is the commander of that squadron. So nice close up pictures of the cockpit, panels and some gear! ok ill note that. I will probably photograph them anyway for my own collection. smile_o.gif

Some pictures of a straight forward view of the cockpits while sitting in the seats would be good, also could you possible get some details of the bottom? I know its strange and people may look at you wierd if you lay or crouch under it but lets face it,we have maybe...2 pics that show any details of the bottom of the longbow.

That sounds good harmed, and I was right those pilot pictures you sent me were perfect and just in time, I recently received word from Laser and he said he might help make the pilots if I did enough research for him and sent him enough reference photos. Thanks so very much for those pictures and if you can please get more of some pilots and their gear, especially the insignia and anything of that sort. Also, some pictures of the apache itself would be helpfull, I really need closeups of the TADS/PNVS mount from multiple angles.

hmmm, when the pilot ejects and hits the ground, would it be possible to remove his helmet and spawn one (and shute) on the ground? I find it hard to believe a pilot would carry such a helmet in enemy territory crazy_o.gif .

it would be nice to have that targeting recticle (the optical) animated to be able to put "down" and "up" kinda like the BAS soar visor. in teh cockpit it wont matter but outside it would ofer a neat looking + and green tinted veiw on the one side.

just a thought for an interesting feature.

and yes the option to ditch the helmet if he ejects.

another way you could do it is..

have the helmet, with the targeting optical down, hidden on init. when the pilot gets in the helmet is unhidden, gets out its hidden again. that way its only visable/on when he is in the chopper.

i got news for you... its rare that helo pilots are "behind enemy lines". if the helo is on a one way trip to the ground.... say your final prayers. there is no coming back. you are either criticly wounded on landing.. or dead. very rarely will you see a chopper pilot walk away from a crash landing. although not unheard of... still rare.

you forget unlike in-game, choppers arnt like planes. theres no ejection seat or parachute. when u get in. you are buckeled in til u land or die. whatever comes first.

I beg to differ, Pappy. Of my last three skippers, two were in a mishap in their career, along w/ several other pilots I know that have walked away. But that's going off topic.

Pilot looks awesome, but as has been said, the flight suit should be unbloused.

I think the suggestion was not inteneded to be perfectly-true to reality, but rather to make it seem more real ingame (Which is what these are)

If the pilot can walk away from crash depends on loots of things, how fast the heli hits the ground, etc etc. May be unlikely, but it's not impossible.. or the point tounge2.gif

oh yea like i said its not impossible to walk away.. just rare. now its more likly over water cuz its a softer landing

but over land.. its a much smaller chance of survival.

like i said its not unheard of.. its more like a 20% chance of survival of a land-based helo crash. that figure is a lil inaccurate.. but its my understanding that its not too likly that when that helo slams into the ground.. your gonna hop out and skip away. its more likly that if u survive at all. you would most likly be imobilized due to being pined or broken bones and stuck there til a recue helo can evac you.

once again im only stating what ive gathered in facts and understanding.

all that aside. yes. for game reasons... a removeable helmet would be a good idea

what are the values for autorotation landing for a apache helicopter? As in what speed and height is the minimum and maximum in which you could still autorotate back to earth?

Because not many helicopters in ofp fly that good! Ive only had like 4 helicopters that could pull it off. Engine shutdown and stick forward... Dive and pull up just above ground and then slide it onto the ground.

The frenchpoint helo's do that quite well! Would it be possible to consider changing the flight caracteristics for this apache? So it would be able to autorotate in ofp?
