.granQ. 0 Posted June 10, 2004 nice to see it is done... and for some reason sole's bin has started to work again.. but it was one day of terror from sole with all his "bin.this.plz.zip" ;) and the part "now it's done we can go on to enjoy other 'normal people' things such as socialising and sleeping normal hours" we all know is just bullshit, don't we ;)
Sole 0 Posted June 10, 2004 Hehe, you got us there granQ , it's only too true [edit] the cannon on the AH31A isn't fixed btw, it can move up and down like the cannon on the V80
PSC 0 Posted June 10, 2004 Great work! Nice helicopter *edit* Some suggestion: a) make the aiming without optics more convenient: b) add a cargo spot:
cassandra 0 Posted June 10, 2004 and the part "now it's done we can go on to enjoy other 'normal people' things such as socialising and sleeping normal hours"we all know is just bullshit, don't we ;) I thought IRC was acceptable socialising.. god damnit.. benus 0 Posted June 10, 2004 really MAZING work .. especially the one that can raise its gear. but the suggestions PSC made are the same I was thinking about when I tested the helos first. and WHY THAT -> for the civialian version yes. but the combat helos should be closed ... too dangerous for the pilot !!! IF WE THINK REALISTIC another suggestion ... not for this addon but for FUTURE HELOS.... remember the C&C ORCA that would be sooooooooooooooooo cool
Cpt. FrostBite 0 Posted June 10, 2004 Benus; Have you took a closer look at US choppers? Most US choppers used in combat missions have their doors removed by the pilots. This happens to be on Kiowa's, blackhawks, littlebirds (which I've actually never seen with doors), ect, ect. So it's not unrealistic for a chopper to have doors removed/no doors at all. Sole already made a very nice GDI Orca, but he never released it. The disign of this choppers seems largely based on his work on the Orca. Edit; I like Sebastians idea of the cargo spot. This way you could pick up a downed wigman, or something like that. Althoug the animation should not be the happy waving motion that sebastian painted for you  Also the aimingsquare is not a bad idea. Would be nice to see a aimingrecticule on the HUD on that spot. It would fit this futuristic chopper.
Sole 0 Posted June 10, 2004 ....The disign of this choppers seems largely based on his work on the Orca... Actually, I stepped into this project after the basic fuselage model was done, so it's not based on the Orca in any way.
Cpt. FrostBite 0 Posted June 10, 2004 Ah well, I does look somewhat like the Orca. Both are great designs and look ultra-cool
benus 0 Posted June 10, 2004 I know that with the helos you named the doors are removed very often. but I thought this is more like a COMABT helo (AH64 or AH1), because of that I said it. but I would like to have this orca you mentioned hhrrhhrhrhr
-ZG-BUZZARD 0 Posted June 10, 2004 Yep, sign up one more for Orca!! Me wants!! As for these choppers... damn... I must say they're the sexiest choppers that ever flew in OFP skies since... wait... no, I wouldn't be able to apply 'sexy' as a way to describe other choppers... ok maybe the Littlebirds and the Gazelles... but this one tops both designs!!! Nevertheless, if a 2-crewed version is planned, I wouldn't mind that there would also be a gunner and the 30mm cannon be fully rotating (aim-wise) as in the AH-64, and not only swiveling like currently... Oh, and would it be possible that the external view of the chopper covers the whole 360 degrees like in Martins Bell 206 FLOAT chopper? makes head-on picture taking much easier, as well as being able to check your six... GoOB 0 Posted June 10, 2004 Had the extreme pleasure of beta-testing these (didn't find one bug that wasn't already knowh though :P ), they are really fun to fly and go great with the BOH Wanzers in my opinion. Good job, and congrats on the release
