Gameer 0 Posted May 22, 2004 Hi, I've decided to just release these animations to the public as they've been sat on my hard drive for the best part of 4 months. I was going to make an animation pack like everyone else but i'm too busy at UKF now to do that, so instead I'll just release these and vanish for a while. The pbo consists of 3 animations - a start, a middle and an end. My apologies for the file size but i've not got time time to cut down the frames. http://www.project-ukf.com/Gameer/GME_Smoking_Anims.zip And no, the DPM pack isn't included Bugs that I know of: *There is no actual cigarette, obviously. *The animations start and end at the default civvy pose, not the default soldier-safe pose. Hawkins 8 Posted May 23, 2004 Hey Gameer! Some great stuff you have here and I'm glad you released this! It's certainly a small gem for us mission/cutscene makers! One prob though, the GME_Loop doesn't work for me. I'm editing a script so that there's cloudlets coming out of the smokers mouth when he smokes and I need this in the loop so that it would look like if he was smoking. I'm using: <table border="0" align="center" width="95%" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0"><tr><td>Code Sample </td></tr><tr><td id="CODE">_smoka switchmove "GME_Loop" He doesn't do anything there. Just stands and looks into the fields. I could open the pbo up and look for the name in case it's wrong or something. And once more, thank you for releasing this excellent add for OFP! Gameer 0 Posted May 23, 2004 Hehe, any you want but quite how you'd get them to work I don't know - The only way i can imagine is making it a primary or secondary weapon then animating that but then you obviously won't be able to carry these weapons and it'd look pretty daft with an M16 instead of a ciggy. Gameer 0 Posted May 23, 2004 Not being a hardcore smoker you're gonna have to tell me what that means If you want him to take a "drag" (think that's what you call it) then it's a simple matter of scripting it to play every 8 seconds I think it was (in the readme). void_false 1 Posted May 23, 2004 ok. if you dont smoke, i'll explain you few things. When ppl are smoking cigarette, they often spit out saliva. And they do it very recently while smoking. On your anim unit only take drags but dont spit. Some time ago someone made pissing anim, so i dont think it is big problem to make spit one. Share this post Link to post Share on other sites

The zippo isn't modelled, but anyone who wants the texture can have it. I might model this in a little while. I just need to wrap up some of my current projects. Including me Also i was thinking about including bottle of wishkey for west and *guess what* for east as eqiupment. then they will smoke and drink to heal theyr wounds. BTW IRL alchohol sterialises wounds. It wi;; gradually change standart equipment. I'm pretty tired of having NVG+Binocular everytime. Time for real equipment has come! Gameer 0 Posted May 23, 2004 @Schoeler Thanks, but as i can't think of any decent way to get the cigarette and pack to show in OFP animations, there's not much use for it. @tinitoon Lol, I forgot to add that disclaimer. @void_false I've really not got time to change the animations and the only reason I've released these anims now is because somebody got me to get off me arse and do it. And I think spitting out tobacco-grog is crossing the boundary into digusting IMO. And you might wanna double-check those warning labels on the packs before you turn it into a healing script. In the read me say that the "GME_Smoke" animation plays the 3 animations on a cycle, but the name of the starting animation is the same, so if I make a script that uses the firs animation, then the loop animation for a cuple of minutes and then the end animation to finish, will it workl without the unit putting the cigarrete off before the loop middle animation starts playing?
