somebloke 0 Posted June 30, 2004 Thought this might interest you FM and a few others. I've completed a range of 11 engine sounds which can be used for any aircraft, expect choppers. 2 files containing the engine sounds: Engines 1 Engines
Footmunch 0 Posted June 30, 2004 Bonko - Oh, I know _all_ about thunder-and-lightnings. Fantastic site. Da12th - I'm kinda resigned to building the pit from 'scratch', so layout pics are appreciated. SB - Thanks. You get a mention in any future readme. Little harsh on the Typhoon - Singapore seems to like it. DeLilt - No Vulcan pics yet, I'm still setting out the basic shapes. Of course, I could post them at PUKF, now... Miles - The handling and loadout on the Bucc won't change significantly; I'm basically tidying up the model and adding better gear and 'pit. Nathanz - Is that a Swiss Hunter? That Vulcan pic gives a great idea of the sheer scale of the beast. I'm not trolling for work, but what plane is _not_ well represented currently? Rafale? Tu-22? Herc?
FW200 0 Posted June 30, 2004 I would have to say smaller Russian Transport planes.. we got an An-124... but nothing smaller than that (like an An-26 or so) I've made a Beriev Be-32K but the model isn't too swell.. you can have it if you want to work on it (although I doubt you would want it)
Footmunch 0 Posted June 30, 2004 So, An-72/74 Coaler type of thing? You know, I did make a start on a Coaler, a long time ago...

I'm not trolling for work, but what plane is _not_ well represented currently? Rafale? Tu-22? Herc? Well first off not a problem with engines, glad to contribute to your amazing work. Secondly, i just don't like the typhoon that much. Finally since you asked, i'd like to see a Merlin ,maybe the odd chipmunk, some of the early migs, and probably the most unlikely, a Hawker Nimrod. somebloke 0 Posted June 30, 2004 Well, to be fair thats only because they're the US versions. I've never really liked the Hercules, sure it's a great transport aircraft but it just doesn't appeal to me. Btw i wouldn't mind a nice little challenge on getting a huge aircraft engine sound. Gotta love large aircraft and their engines.
Ironsight 1 Posted June 30, 2004 So, An-72/74 Coaler type of thing? You know, I did makea start on a Coaler, a long time ago... Would be cool if you would make a AN-12 Cub

Gotta love large aircraft and their engines. I'm rather fond of the Herc, I think the main problem with the ones currently out is that they are too small, they look more like the early A models than the current J model, which has a longer fuselage. I'll be very impressed if you can get the sound of the Herc right or if you fancy a challenge you could try and recreate the ear drum splitting roar of the Vulcan There's nothing quite like the sound of 4 Rolls Royce Olympus engines on reheat
Footmunch 0 Posted June 30, 2004 For a Cub or Coaler, would we want just human cargo (as well as some 'crates'), or does the UAZ need to be carried? Are there any East motorbikes that could be deployed? Paradrop scritps would be required, I'm guessing. Wth my FLK hat on, there will be a UK Herc in the mod, IIRC. miles teg 1 Posted June 30, 2004 Personally I would love seeing the Cub or Coaler able to carry the BMD series from Vit/DKM's comprehensive APC pack which has several excellent Russian BMD airborne infantry combat vehicles that are specifically designed for being dropped by parachute from Russian transport aircraft. The BTR-70/80 series of armored wheeled vehicles in the packs are also I believe transportable by both the Cub and the Coaler in real life. The BIS UAZ would be cool too. ...But personally I don't think its an absolute requirement. I would just be happy having a nice medium Russian transport aircraft that carried troops and that flew as well as the AN-124 or Adammo's C130 addons (both of which fly beautifully). I say, make a troop only version first and then later on at your leisure you and others could mess around with adding vehicle cargo/parachuting scripts to it. somebloke 0 Posted June 30, 2004 You can see why no-modern day pilots are allowed to fly vulcans. On a different note Herc Engine

somebloke 0 Posted June 30, 2004 thanks for that one, right lets try again. I inserted a low rumble into this. Technically i'm working deaf/blind to this as i've never had the experience first hand of a vulcan engine. Vulcan re-run
DeLiltMon 0 Posted June 30, 2004 I wish I could listen to them, I'm in work at the moment with no headphones Will have to remember to bring some in tomorrow, otherwise I'll have to wait until Friday when I get home to use my home machine.
somebloke 0 Posted June 30, 2004 Thats a pity mate, i'd nip round your work thing with headphones, heh i'm in Bristol too. Here's a "throaty" hercules engine, used a herc engine and a merlin. New Herc
DeLiltMon 0 Posted June 30, 2004 I've got headphones there, trouble is I'm currently in Washington (that's Washington, Tyne and Wear) until Friday
somebloke 0 Posted June 30, 2004 Ah i see. *ponders over getting his grandparents to nip over to lilty from blyth* hehe. Remember your headphones. Anyway, can the others give me feedback on those engines?
Nathanz 0 Posted June 30, 2004 Anyway, can the others give me feedback on those engines? It sounds spot on comparing it to the movie   Good job
Footmunch 0 Posted June 30, 2004 Bloke - Does the mix 'run-out' a little bit at the end of the Vulcan wav? The Herc seems okay, if a little bit 'static'-y.
