Upcoming lost brother addons

Recommended Posts

But killing protesters is realistic! Seriously, every time I see Palistinian gunmen on the news they have a swarm of kids and teenagers around them as they are firing at Israeli troops. I guess they are hoping to get martyred or something.

Anyhoo... as far as the robes, this pack is meant to simulate more then just the Palistinian territories. It has a wide variety of terrorist units that also are made to simualte militants in Iraq as well. In Iraq the militants often DO wear robes when fighting...although yes, they do usually wear jeans, or athletic clothes. But not always. The same is true for Afghani militants.

So we want to add plenty of variety to this pack so that mission makers can simulate the militants in different parts of the Middle East.

Yes f**king palestinians always use children as a shield, but israeli soldiers never fire in such situations. My good friend who serves in Shimshon sad that they had alot of situations like that and it was never allowed to fire.(Sorry, its a little bit offtopic).

The use of the word "never" is incorrect.

I sad never allowed i didn't say that it never happens.

It's still incorrect. Where there's an immediate danger to an Israeli soldier's or civilian's life, it is permissible to open fire under such circumstances.

Try to remember last situations when palestinian "civilians" were killed because the immediate danger to israeli soldiers. What was the reaction in the country? How many officers lost their ranks?

So during the last raids it wasn't allowed to fire in such circumstances.

It's not only my opinion. The man that took part in fights told me that.

How many officers lost their ranks?

I have no idea which specific cases you're referring to here.

There's no army in the world that requires its own soldiers and civilians to likely be killed because an enemy is using non-combatants as cover to perpetrate the killing. The same holds true here.

EDIT: Offline I go! Shabbat Shalom! smile_o.gif

nice!!!

can u show us the whole units to be released on a line up?

also this pack is to be released separately?

Well there are probably too many units to stick in a lineup although I might try...but I'd have to pull back alot and since I have a crappy computer, my LOD's would switch to crappier LOD's...so I probably won't be able to unless I took pics of like 5 units at a time. But that would be a lot of pics.

At any rate, speaking of pics, here's a new one of our GUI that ThunderBird84 made for us! (Thanks ThunderBird!)

The pic is low res so the real thing looks clearer.

Ok i like it all , but one thing cant you guys with all the EFFORT that youve put in to this , go a BIT further and make some objects which give the island/maps the typical Middle eastern feel? I mean you know hukka joints (cafes) and date shops plus souks , bazaar type places? and how about playing with the elevations a bit ( cats original island utilized that feature much) , right now the island looks flat and too grid locked , i would prefer topsy turvy villages too with narrow lanes and stuff  smile_o.gif

Anyhow nice job , your efforts ought to be commended for carrying on even though there hasnt been major support over this unlike all those other projects people fall for like crazy but i am waiting anxiusly for some good ME units.

P.S: Is it only me of those helmet worn by SF look like shower caps tounge_o.gif , i am not flaming the work maybe thats how they really look like in real life?

Unfortunately, probably not. It is VERY difficult to fix that. However the pack will be left unbinarized, so if anyone else is able to figure out how to fix that, we will certainly update it with their fix. So basically the pack will be there for others to develop and enhance as long as they clear it through us first so people don't add really crappy or buggy stuff to the official pack. For example I wouldn't want someone replacing all the current weapons with Flippers M4's or with Ak-74's instead of AK-47's just because they think it looks cooler and then putting it out as an official update to the pack. But for bug fixes, texture improvements, and things like that we will definitely update the back with those and include in the credits those updates and the individual who made the update.

Acecombat:

There are some cities that are like that, The Sinai is not totally flat at all. In fact most people complain that its not flat enough and is too hilly. But we used actual elevation map data to make it. We are also going to ask the creators of the last two Afghan maps to see if they will allow us to add their objects into our LoBo_objects.pbo for our maps. Huka joints, schwarma vendors, cafes, souks, ect... would all be very cool. But right we have TONS of stuff on our plate and priority is on getting this civilian/militant pack out and to get addonpack #3 finished and released. We are also going to release the updated Sinai map as well very soon.

Very nice GUI you have there! wow_o.gif

This will give more original feel to the mod and to make that feel even better why not include a simple shortcut icon too? biggrin_o.gif

CWMod did it and so did FDF mod and it would help to distinguish the LoBo shortcut from ten other OFP shortcuts to different addon folders. wink_o.gif

One last question, what are you planning to include in the Addon Pack 3?

I take it that the jordanian commandos and their HMMV is included but what about other stuff?

Take notice this is not a demand to make stuff but simply my curiosity. biggrin_o.gif

I think the problem is that for such a huge pack...it's very unfinished and needs a lot of work done still.

Dont get me wrong, im not complaining. I'm just pointing out why it "might" not have taken off yet.

To polish up a large mod, you need a large team. It's not easy with just a few guys (obviously)

Looks good so far!  smile_o.gif

EDIT: One thing though, some of the textures just dont do it for me. Some are very good and some just need help. I know you know this already but it's one of the weaker areas.

I would like to help with the textures but the thing is i dont know how to cut/extract them i mean and then apply them on a model i can make them probably i am good at PS and all but i am crap with O2 and i guess textures need applying upfront to see if they fit and all. I wish i could help , if only someone pushs me in the right direction with that aforementioned stuff i'd love to help out.

Yeah... texturing is not easy to do and takes some dedication.

I wish I had more time to learn how to do it well also.  Currently I can only do texture editing of existing textures that are already mapped...and that's hard enough.

At any rate, here's some new pics of our SA-2's.:

Also you can download the LoBo icon here:

Just right click and select "save as".

FYI, VBS1 forum member Orson also has one in the works:

Maybe one of you can spare the duplication of the other. rock.gif

Is that for VBS1 though?  It can't be used in OFP if it is for VBS1....as I am sure you are well aware tounge_o.gif.

If it contains any original VBS1 scripts or textures, it can't be used for OFP.

Otherwise, with the addon maker's permission, there's no problem.
