denoir 0 Posted May 9, 2004 Sweden-Canada right now. First ten minutes have almost passed: 2-0 to Sweden
GoOB 0 Posted May 9, 2004 Exciting game, really is... I had to leave the telly for a moment just to cool down a wee bit That said, icehockey is a great sport to watch. But football is indeed the sport that ranks no.1 on my list. It is great fun to watch and even greater fun to analyze. You can pick apart football matches like they were Saab 900's and weigh one strategical move against another. Icehockey does have a certain ammoung of strategy and finesse involved, but for the morepart it's just a sweaty bundle of 150 kg guys ruffing it out. Great fun to watch, but football is in my opinion more fun. Especially live
iNeo 0 Posted May 9, 2004 How depressing each period must end after starting off well. The Swedish 3-1 goal was beautiful.
Warin 0 Posted May 9, 2004 5-3 for Canada! WOOHOO! And goal 5 was sooooo beautiful! edit: Canada Wins! Yay! Sweden played an excellent game. Totally dominated for the first half. Â Good game!
Donnervogel 0 Posted May 9, 2004 bah s***... canada wins... what a shame... buhuhuhuhuh (don't mind me, i'm just biased)
GoOB 0 Posted May 9, 2004 Aaaw... I knew I was being too optimistic. Damn Slovakia for not winning against Canada! It was indeed quality hockey and really a great game. Perhaps too much quality in Canadas hockey? Congratulations Canada, good game and one heck of a world championship... I was really looking forward to the "homecoming" on Sergels torg though... Maybe next year!
norsu 180 Posted May 9, 2004 *edit* Nevermind, I should read the news more carefully.
smogmorph 0 Posted May 9, 2004 Sweden played an excellent game. Totally dominated for the first half. Â Good game! Not really. We dominated the first 10 minutes, then Nidelmeyer attacked/assaulted Peter Forsberg and we never found our way into the game again like we did the first 10 minutes. Oh well, we probably would have lost anyway, well played Canada. Sweden can't win.
smogmorph 0 Posted May 9, 2004 Thank you Canada   Yes, thank you Canada, if we'd won I might have actually gained interest in this horrible game.  God Bless the Fotbollsallsvenskan.
denoir 0 Posted May 9, 2004 Meh, I knew it. Sweden always has problems with Canada. Good thing it was hockey and not some sport that I actually like
SpeedyDonkey 0 Posted May 9, 2004 God Bless the Fotbollsallsvenskan.  Don't mention that crap around here!   No seriously, i was in Gothenburg last week and saw the local "derby" (Göteborg vs Örgryte) It was ridiculously boring and yet the press called it a fantasic game The reason why im happy that Sweden lost is that i avoid alot of bitching tomorrow (and the rest of the year) about how good Swedes are..
Ex-RoNiN 0 Posted May 9, 2004 Would be different in football, especially with Larsson back in the squad Congrats Canada
Blake 0 Posted May 9, 2004 Canada owned the game with more aggressive attitude, they deserved victory. But I'm still little pissed at Heatley for his overtime goal against Finland  Sweden-Finland would have been something beyond epic proportions

Now you will get worthless analysing of "what went wrong" and pointless attempts to pin the loss on an idividual player instead. Much preferred We just didn't have the proper flow this match, which we never seem to have against Canada. Looking forward to the european championships in football next, watch out Portugal here we come!

Chris Death 0 Posted May 9, 2004 One word i have to say: RESPECT Canada has been in trouble not only once during this championship, but with pure effort and "will" they always found their way outta it. Tho it's been my poor Austrian team, they couldn't beat (and the Czech's off course) but i know it's been their first game when they played against Austria. Canada really deserved place 1 as they never gave up and always fought until the end of period 3 (or overtime ) ~S~ CD
drow 0 Posted May 9, 2004 Â Im Canadian, most canadians dont even pay much attention to this, well my family never really has anyways, its on at the same time as the NHL playoffs, but i am glad Canada won... makes for good taunting all my Swedish friends who take it very seriously lol! (you should have heard them when it was 3-1 LOL) ps - dont take this as poor sportsmanship, im only joking... im not even a big hockey fan.
