wow...a Skymaster,

txs Scud , this is the perfect Recon plane for Nam and Tonal settings.

EDIT: Shouldnt the top part of wing be same colour? all photos i seen show the 0-2a either all grey or camouflaged with top part of wing also camouflaged or in dark colour, apart from that i really enjoy this little plane, great improvement over your Skyvan smile_o.gif

Great work Scud. And spot on for the Tonal fit Bonko. Looking in my 1980 World Air Power manual, the Reims/Cessna 337 Skymaster/O-2 Milirole was listed as flying with the following African countries AFs:

(x1) Burkina Faso (then Haute Volta)

(x4) Chad

(x2) Niger

*(x3) Madagascar*

*(x20) Zimbabwe* (Known by the Rhodesian AF as the Lynx)

...Other operators at the time included Eucador, Iran, Venezuela & USAF.

Would you consider adding compatibility with Footmunch's roundels system to any future version?

...some more stuff about its use in VN:

"...selected "off the shelf" in1966 as being ideal for this [2-man FAC] role, and equipped with four underwing pylons carry flares, rockets and such light ordnance as a 7.62mm Minigun pack. These were designated O-2A and 501 were supplied to the USAF. In addition a version equipped for psychological warfare missions entered USAF service under the designation O-2B. This carried a powerful air-to-ground broadcasting system using three 600-Watt amplifiers and a battery of highly directional speakers. Total procurement...31. Both versions carried advanced nav/comm systems."

Thanks for modelling this plane - she's unusual, she's seen some real action, she's a bit of a jalopy, she's my girlfriend biggrin_o.gif

Cheers,

Cornhelium

stability and handeling need fixed on it, as well as the gear "armor" needs to be increased. i was taxing "off raod" on teh desert island and the front wheel bounced up about 8 inchs and then snaped when it came back down rock.gif

Edit: and make an option for the insturment panel to light up without needing the use of the light

Just HE. I don't know how to do the WP but if someone can help out with that would be much appreciated.

Quote[/b] ]The upper wing surfaces of the O-2A were painted white so that they could be seen against the jungle canopy by other aircraft.

I stand corrected smile_o.gif I'd been looking at other pics.

This plane is BEAUTIFUL!!!

Only she gulps down fuel as if there was no tomorrow, which I find somewhat strange, since endurance is a must for FAC planes, right?

I've logged a few hours on the skymaster in RL and its a pleasure to see its OFP equivalent. Now, lets see if we can overheat that aft engine tounge_o.gif

Thanks for this odd bird!

I saw the O-2 and immediately started saying "Come in BAT 21" HAHA. Damn good movie, have met Lt. Col. Hambleton as he lives here in Tucson, AZ.

Thank you very much, Scud!!

It looks great and handles very nicely.

I've been wanting an 02 in OFP for about 2 years now. Glad to see that the first one to ever be released is a really high quality one too.

Thanks again! smile_o.gif

crazy_o.gif STOP!!

Those OH-58's are from BAS used by WGL with permission. If you like to have the config and scripts for the different types of FFAR's you should contact BAS.

why? is there now an unwritten law that says i cant open an addon to see how it was made\configed\scripted ?  rock.gif

And as i said, ask Angusheaf , I really cant see much fuss about that, and im all in favour of an addon ( unless otherwise specified ) being "intelectual property" of its creator

I agree. Ultimately you could argue, "STOP! Forget about BAS, you need to ask BIS for permission since they developed the system through which different rockets can be used in this game."

However I would say that if it's a specific script that was developed by a BAS member and it took that individual alot of work to develop that script, then yeah, its only right to ask them for permission to use that script.

At the very least give BAS credit.

Also keep in mind that MANY similar scripts exist such as some of those developed by Footmunch. I'm sure Footmunch could give a very similar script, or come up with one very quickly.

We had this problem with the whole dust script where multiple OFP script writers came up with similar dust scripts independently. However when they started to be released, there was this ugly rash of posts of people accusing some of these script writers of stealing the scripts from other people.

Anyways, hopefully it won't turn into a big deal.

Probably best to just send a quicke email to BAS, and if nobody responds over there, then just give them credit (or credit to the individual in BAS who wrote it), and use the script. Personally I would LOVE to see some nice smoke rockets on this aircraft. It looks fantastic.
