Evishion 0 Posted September 30, 2004 I'm gonna cry.... uff, lol, joking.I was thinking about making a DVD disc with the best stuff I have downloaded so far for OFP, and then I thought about using an installer or something with a menu, like in the ones you get in the magazines, it would be a nice addition next to the 3 discs from OFP and yours. Can you do something like it for your mod?if you allready done so I would appreciate it if you could pass me the file to add it to the disc. I supose that you know what I'm tallking about lol. @CERO. Plzzz. make a DVD cover to.. But make it a bit sharper than the last.. it got very blury when it was printed out.. Would be AWESOME m8 Â
nickless 0 Posted September 30, 2004 Hello everybody, I hope someone can help me with that problem: I just got a new PC - the first thing to do after installing Windows and all the drivers was to copy OFP over from my old computer... and it didn't work, no GUI and no sky visible, plus other graphic errors. So I reinstalled the game, everything worked fine, installed and activated the Y2K3-Mod - same graphic errors. I tried out some things and found out that these graphic errors only occur when Hardware T&L is activated and the Y2K3 addons (even addons without config and DTA files) are active - any ideas how to fix that? Graphic card is a Radeon 9800 Pro, running on Omega 4.9 drivers (tried out others as well). Thanks in advance

Thanks in advance U use -nomap ? if not. do that. then it will work edit: right mouse buttom on the y2K3 logo -- then int he targetarea after .exe write -nomap -noplash (-noplash removes the CM and BIS logo) so example .exe -nomap -noplash -mod=Y2K3 remember the space between .exe and the rest

nickless 0 Posted October 1, 2004 U use -nomap ?if not. do that. then it will work Thanks, "-nomap" did the trick. I'm just wondering why it worked on my older computer without, the graphic cards were nearly the same (Radeon 9700 vs. 9800 Pro).
FerretFangs 0 Posted October 1, 2004 Nickless, I had EXACTLY the same thing happen to me. Same video cards, and everything. Pissed me right off when I figured out all I had to do was use the -nomap command.
Pappy Boyington 0 Posted October 2, 2004 sorry this is a cross post, but i just want to inform all Y2K3 users that missed my post in the combat thread.... you CAN go ahead and upgrade your M2A2, M113, HMETT, CBT_Misc, and download thier other addons if you so wish, everything remains compatable i noticed no problems in upgrading. thank you. take care now, bye bye then
-RuN- 0 Posted October 2, 2004 Thanks Pappy. You`re so professional for somebody doing this for free, that`s scarry
Pappy Boyington 0 Posted October 2, 2004 lol.. umm sorry? i take great pride in the work i do, weither it be free or i get a paycheck, i still take pride in it. i like to ensure that anyone thatis a consumer of any services i render are kept happy as possible. especialy with this game, its nice to ensure that with upgrades and new addons and rehashing old ones that your life is a little easier if i go ahead and ensure compatability for you saving you the twenty minutes of wondering "should i do this or no?" weither its free or not, what it all comes down to is "customer satisfaction". and technicly speaking you are my customers, therefore i must try my best with the givin resources of time and skill, to ensure your satisfaction as best i can. also too this is a public forum, a public game, and a public mod, i must maintain a professoinal additude, at least for any addons or mods that i create or assist in. from a simple config comment in the PT boats, to a total conversion mod of Y2K3, the professoinal addditude is maintained to ensure quick, educational, and satisfactory results in the end edit: not to mention Operation Flashpoint isnt a game to me, its a religion and remember folks, theres no such thing as a stupid question, only stupid people lol i joke i joke
action man 0 Posted October 2, 2004 Pappy here's some praise from me:-Thank you very much for your mod ! you seem like a very nice guy!I would happily pay you money for the mod (sopose that would be illegal)

Pappy Boyington 0 Posted October 3, 2004 ok listen up Attention this is merely optional.. this isnt a patch, this isnt a fix, this isnt a bug, this doesnt even render a "release notice" this is MERELY OPTIONAL!!!! Humvee Replacment (humr.pbo) Fischkopps Humvee is beautiful. very nice. but it apperes as if Combat's is a touch nicer.. so here is an OPTIONAL replacment using the combat humvee. the M998 Nato (03). the ONLY thing changed is the model, and ui picture. everything else remains the same. i just know ill get 2 million requests to do this.. so here is the option to do so. if you do use it. you obviously requires combat's humvee pack. and fischkopps will no longer be required so you can take one out and put the other one in. Parvus 0 Posted October 3, 2004 hello, i'm not up to date; are there any other changes since 6.0? thx in advance greetz
Pappy Boyington 0 Posted October 3, 2004 hello,i'm not up to date; are there any other changes since 6.0? thx in advance greetz if you have the pilot & raft patch then you are up to date. the humvee replacment was merely an optional download available in the topic only, mainly cuz i know 2 million ppl are gonnna ask for it so i put it up, but its not reqired. its jut an option. if you have 6.0 and the "pilot& raft" patch released the same day as 6.0, found on teh downloads page, then you have everything you need
action man 0 Posted October 4, 2004 Pappy, any chance you could explain how to change normal maldon to desert malden(eden, desert.wrp) in your config? thanks! Come to think of it how can i change any of the default islands with their jungle, winter or desert equivalents? can it be done with a pbo addon island or a wrp island. Also if it can be done will the origional campaign and sp missions still work
Pappy Boyington 0 Posted October 4, 2004 you need to change the wrp in the "worlds" folder with the new. im using INQ's desert isladn to replace the orginal. as far as the orginal missions and campaign, i would say "probably not" as the desert jungle winter variants dont just change pretty colors. they move stuff around they added bushs were there was none and take out houses where there should be ones and it would most likly fruck with the unit placments. Drax 0 Posted October 5, 2004 Kinda on the subject, I'm playing through the PMC Fury campaign which I've played in the past (well 1/16'th or so of it) and it's Awesome-O to now play it with the Y2K3 additions... I'm not really up on the OpFlash community in that I really only visit this specific forum thread and sometimes Avon's FAQ, so I was wondering if there where any other outstanding or favorite user made campaigns that go well with Y2K3? And in case someone's in the dark on PMC Fury it can be found here... http://flashpoint.nekromantix.com/campaign.php It's a very well done 200 mission campaign that uses no addons making it 100% Y2k3 compatible. Pappy Boyington 0 Posted October 5, 2004 little update folks, Y2K3 has been packaged up and shiped off to the gameing magazine.... but i was having one of those "kill now, talk later" moments when burns was on... so i was more worried about going to blow shit up in OFP that i forgot to ask him the NAME of the magazine lol i promise the next time he signs on ill ask... im really excited about it. i know its all free and everything, but its just one of those major acomplishments in life when you look back a few years when i bought the game, when i pulled that box off the shelf and said "this is it! this is the perfect war game ive been looking for" i NEVER woulda thought that i would create such a mod for said game, nor would i ever belive then that a popular gaming magazine an ocean away would want to mass burn/distribute my mod to its readers. im still in awe at the acomplishments and progress made in the past few months in making this mod. and again i just want to say it would not have gotton this far without you, the user. when i made the first release it was "here ya go this is it. i just wanted to share this with you.... next thing i know im adhering to requests, and bug reports, staying up til 6 or 7 in the morning tweaking and bug fixing Y2K3. and now look where its at. its truely amazing. thank you all. ive been downloading "default replacment" mods since GMR explosions. but other mods were in discussion or released... and it was one of those "oh yea this is cool.. oh wait a minute you should use this and this instead" and the maker go "no i dont like that tough shit". i wanted INQ weapons, GMR fire, ECP effects, and a gaggle of addons replacing the default with better ones. but i didnt want to slave over every last "Realisum" detail. just enough to make it real, but also enough to keep it fun and exciting. plus compatable with default missions. and my calls went unheard or unechoed. so... i looked over the config and when well hell this shit is easy, so i did it, and i listend to the crys of the people to use this addon adn that addon. althou not all could be answered i tried to aheere to as many as possible, and provide a tutorial on how to "do it yourself" if you are unhappy with my final selection. . . but getting to the point; let me tell you folks, theres one very important lesson to be learned from this mod. . . "If You Want Something Done Right, Do It Yourself". and thats exactly what i did. and not just for me either. for all of us. of course since the final release ive further pimped out my own version with other updates and tweaks for personal use only but still compatable with others in case theres ever a Y2K3 server out there i might join up. but the fact remains, most other mods are "we will do it our way and you will like it" and i wanted to do a mod where "i will do it how i like it, and try and do it how you like it too". and you folks came up with alot of great ideas for replacments that i wouldnt of thought of. Y2K3: a Mod for the People, by the People. Truely: Realisum For the Gamer thank you all for bringing one mans "do it yourself" project to such a grand acomplishment. Pappy Boyington 0 Posted October 5, 2004 trigger happy. yes that i am, which is why i like lots of bullets but you said you shiped it off, then you sid you have to burn it. so u confused me, and plus i said i was in a kill now talk later mood so i wasnt totaly pay attention. all i got was "they replied back and are interested" edit: in any case my speech still stands. been meaning to tell you all that anyway. just tacked it onto that post while i was at it
@cero 0 Posted October 5, 2004 Lol Pappy, I'm gonna cry Man, you kno's'it, sorry Newport brew. I am very impressed by this, because is true, every thing you just said, is just what I think about your mod, it reflects it very well, and that's the reason why we all like it, and why a magazine is so interested in it, this is not a "I want to be popular" thing, I can tell, this is alot of hours to improve two things, the gameplay and the most important one, the comunity. Lol, whatever you have today must be contagious. Regards. @CERO.

Drax 0 Posted October 5, 2004 Gratz Papp's Your mod makes OpFlash look like a game that got released this year. Your definitly deserving of some attention. Burn's: I tried Retaliation a while back. It IS too hard. lol After escaping the camp with 150 bajillion soldiers in it, I was in some mission where a soldier is supposed to drive me to some guy's house, then I'm sure something would happen where I'm supposed to fight my way back to the russian base, never got to see it since the driver was shot and killed almost instantly by bad guys that where probably supposed to not shoot anything till I got to my destination. Couldn't finish the mission so just trashed the campaign. Pappy there's a new problem unit. Makes the game crash just like back with the Mi17's chopper dust in the Vulcan (and Retaliation intro btw) mission. Game slowly degrades till CTD with a memory error (JUST like before). It's in PMC Fury's Operation Muse mission (11'th mission I think). I'll see if I can't see what's causing it. I upgraded the combat units just before that mission so I'll see if that might be part of the problem as well. Next few missions after that one ran fine so it's something specific. [edit] was using your non-exploding bodies cfg with heli dust line removed.
