Y2K3 - Updated Ofp Config.

I remember that in WGL mod AI soldiers can use burst or auto fire to shot you, that cool! Can you extract that scripts out and add or tell us how to add it to your Config.cpp.

...hey Pappy i know it finished mod and my question has nothing with it  tounge_o.gif  biggrin_o.gif  but just little help it would be nice...

is it posible to inplement the uwar_grass mod  thread in to config.cpp as EventHandlers for class Soldier or any other class...like init=[_this select 0] exec ...

the AI shoot at me in all forms. singe. auto. grenade. and manage to hit me in one shot every time. go figure tounge_o.gif

about the gras thingy. yes you can impliment it to the soldiers via config.

you will need to add it to Man, West Soldierwb, East Soldiereb, Resistance Soldiergb for it to work for everyone. and that will carry down to otehr addon soldiers UNLESS they have an init script of thier own.

open up the editable config that is included in your Y2K3/Bin/Configs folder and hit edit, find "skelet" or if its the performance enhancer version search for "hanamen" this will take you to each of the classes that you will need to edit (hanamen, and skelt are refering to the exploding bodies included.... which is on every man class as well so this should help you find which classes u will need to add that init line to)

Working with DXDLL1.0 I found that the preference program doesn't work with Y2K3. My shortcut says "flashpointBETA" so I renamed "Flashpointresistence.exe" to that. Its nice sometimes to just do an auto detect, because it seems like my system video resets it's self all the time. Will I have to manually change the Y2K3/Bin/Configs?

Anyone else getting a "virtual buffer full error" with 9800 pro? When running DXDLL1.0 with Y2K3?

My OFP Y2K3 graphics seem to "lurch" every few seconds - they run smoothly and then will stutter and lurch for a frame, like something is being loaded into memory.

Using OFP unmodded fixes it, but who wants to do that?!

I've got 256mb video ram and 512mb ram so it can't be lack of memory - does anyone else have this problem?

What OS are you using? For example XP requires at least 256mb ram so it doesn't leave a huge amount for Opf (especially if you're trying to run Opf with quite high settings), 1gb ram makes a nice difference smile_o.gif

Does your hard drive light come on each time it stutters? What settings do you run in Opf?

Are you using -nomap?

Not sure if this was intended for my preference problem. But yes it’s in my short/cut. -nomap

My system: soltek-SL-K8AN2E-GR PWRCLR|9800SE “softmode†64/3200/1MB 1GIG 2700/333

How do I direct the preference program config to the Y2K3 config?

"flashpointbeta" refers to the 1.96 patch (that you should have your OFP up-to-date with. it installs that new exe called flashpointbeta. contrary to popular belive. the new patch does NOT replace the "flashpointresistance.exe" ive tested when i run that its 1.85. when i run the beta exe its 1.96. so you should have your game completly up to date.

game stutters. do you know when this happens? say when someone fires an AT rocket, something blows up? your running @ dead bodies? tryin to pinpoint what would cuase this. like the fires or blood or flies or something like that.

if the "stutering" is constant (IE: every 10 seconds) it could be an init script and suggest you use the PE version of Y2K3's config which eliminates alot of init scripts smile_o.gif

Well, i have OFP GOTY patched up to 1.96 (i am talking about the official patch, not the 1.96 beta patch) and i have no more any flashpointbeta.exe (i had one only when i used a beta patch) in my OFP directory.

The game displays "1.96" and i can join every 1.96 servers online without problems.

If you apply the 1.96 "official" patch you have no need of the flashpointbeta.exe (that came from the beta patch) anymore , you can use the FLASHPOINTRESISTANCE.EXE , updated to 1.96.

I have no idea why if you use the FLASHPOINTRESISTANCE.EXE the game displays "1.85" for you, that is very strange.

i use the resistance CD (not goty)

and the patch i got when it was beta was 1.96.... the "offical" patch was released.. and dubed "exactly the same as the beta" i downloaded it anyway.. it sayd "your game is already patched up to 1.96 use flashpointbeta.exe to run your game" (or something to that nature im not redownloading it just to get the exact message) which to me means.. "flashpointbeta.exe" is 1.96. ever since beta pacth was invented BIS always announced "the beta is no differnt from the final, so if u have the beta then your good to go"

yes the motor cycle is in fact in the o.pbo.

whats about new wrecks? is it possible? i do not know anything about scripting etc., im just a gamer.

would be really cool. and there are a lot of real good customer made wrecks now.

for example:

a bit ago i also saw a wrecked bmp wich looked real good.

so maybe it would be something for y2k3?

exactly. one killed script replacing the dead thing with a dead model....

but the problem with this is. OFP has alot of blowing shit up.. and when this happens... models are beign replaced.. so now you have 12 tanks dead and 12 new models that need to be "snaped" into place.. and this creates lag... now if u dont mind a 5 second pause while the uber-cool dead/wrecked model is created, loaded, textured, and then applied to the map.... then sure its possible. but for the average gamer its not fesible.

Hi sorry I took a while to reply, been camping for the weekend. My OFP stutters most noticably on the front page demos! In game it's not as noticable. Amazing I know. Probably just some idiosyncracy of my rig.

Hi pappy

Can you tell me how to disable the zoom in effect when I use gunsight view? Without the zoom in effect, (except sniper,law,rpg) ak47,ak74,m16, MG look more realistic when shot others. I see some lines in config.cpp, but there is no lines special for ak and m16 sieres.

I have realized that the new 5T trucks and support trucks are not recognized by the MH-47 to pick them up.

Speaking of the MH-47, I prefered the old one but I did not make any backup of the old file. I thought that you mentioned pappy, that you would give us the choice between the MH or the CH in your config. I regret to see that it is not the case.

I have also a bug concerning the spetnaz sniper, the gun has no crosshair.

i said u had a choice by not installing the MH47 to overwrite the CH47

the trucks should still be regonized as ive transported the "new" default humvee with the pavehawks earlier.
