JJonth Cheeky Monkey 1 Posted March 10, 2004 OK you can get the latest version from OFP.info. Screenshots are very old and look crap so ignore them. Hope you like it, but I know some of you won't
r1c0cH3T 0 Posted March 10, 2004 Sounds good! Hope you fixed all those bugs! Downloading now
JJonth Cheeky Monkey 1 Posted March 10, 2004 LOL just make sure you put all your files in RES addons and check there aren't any files with the same name in your OFP Addon file.
r1c0cH3T 0 Posted March 10, 2004 First fix you need to make (and I didn't even play yet ): ONE PBO!!!... or atleast put your "OFPEC tag" on it.
edc 0 Posted March 10, 2004 Cool! I really like your M-4 variants(CAR-15, etc-yes I know I should really say it the other way around), and your M-16/M-16A1's.
JJonth Cheeky Monkey 1 Posted March 10, 2004 I havent put the tag thingy on coz originally about a year ago when I started this it was only gonna be for me and only gonna be an M16 pack. I just added more and more to it and its a complete bitch changing the directory for all the texture for every model. OFP 4 will be out by the time I finished doing that. miles teg 1 Posted March 10, 2004 I know the feeling. Â I wish BIS would update Oxygen and create a simpler way to rename the root directory path for all the addons that have the same filepath. Â That way you could rename all the file paths with just one command. Â That would save a tremendous amount of time and reduce the amoung of texture bugs considerably. Â I tried using a hex editor once to do that, but when I tried re-compiling the addon, it wouldn't work. Apparently you need a bunch of other software to properly re-compile the addon or something. ardvarkdb 104 Posted March 10, 2004 does anyone have a mirror up yet? i can't get ofp.info's download to work
r1c0cH3T 0 Posted March 10, 2004 Okay I have checked it out and I have to say, the pack is real nice. I love the realistic "zoom" level, it really changes they way everything looks. It has really improved from your last pack which was full of bugs. Great update Cheek.

vektorboson 8 Posted March 10, 2004 I tried using a hex editor once to do that, but when I tried re-compiling the addon, it wouldn't work. Â Apparently you need a bunch of other software to properly re-compile the addon or something. Â That's because in MLOD-p3d the texture filename+path are stored in a 32 byte long string. You can change the path to textures easily with a hexeditor if you keep the path the same length: \tag_foo\tex.paa -> \newpath\tex.paa will work, because they have the same length, where \tag_foo\tex.paa -> \bar\tex.paa won't work because they don't have the same length. In this case (when replacing "tag_foo" with "bar") you are shifting some bytes to the left, your string is shorter than 32 bytes, this will give you errors. killagee 0 Posted March 10, 2004 Is this pack ECP compatible?
vektorboson 8 Posted March 10, 2004 @CheekyMonkey Ok, now there will be no excuse, not using your OFPEC-tag because it is here!!! texreplacer.rar 116 KB You can use it as follows: On the command line type: <table border="0" align="center" width="95%" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0"><tr><td>Code Sample </td></tr><tr><td id="CODE"> texreplacer YOURTAG_ier weapon.p3d if you got \ak47s\tex.paa it will make \YOURTAG_ier\tex.paa The same is explained in the readme. Beware that also textures from data will be referenced with YOURTAG_ier.
Cpt. FrostBite 0 Posted March 10, 2004 any up to date screenshot anyone? I would like to see how it looks (Can't dl, since I'm stuck on the base during the week)
killagee 0 Posted March 11, 2004 The idea behind this pack is great, and I could find no bugs. I love the extra range that your soldiers engage at. Is this change made in the weapons or in your soldiers. I would love to kit out my NZDF squad with the Minimi from this pack, but there is no scope on it I like the HK33 with scope in this too... Could you please do re-works of your sniper pack also to work like this. A G-36 series would be great. Is there anyway I can edit existing weapons or soldiers to engage from these distances. This pack seems to be ECP compatible which is nice. I would throw up some pics but I am out of host space Enough question for you cheeky?

Chris G. aka-Miles Teg<GD> Hex editor works for me fine... I do it all the time to change texture paths when swapping weapon/player models, optic models and such. What editor do you use? Is it a twin screen setup? (So as you can see the code as well as the plain text version?) I use Multi-edit 8.0. It's an excellent resource for when things are binarized or locked P3d models. Also good for editing *.sqm, *.cpp and *.html files too... not to mention a whole lot of actual work-related stuff that I am supposed to use it for... lol
Andraz 2 Posted March 11, 2004 This add-on is absolutely stunning! The quality of weapons, especially sniper rifles, is superb - just look at these screenshots. Cpt. FrostBite 0 Posted March 11, 2004 Tahnks for the sreenshots, that's what I have been asking for! I DL'ed an older version a while ago, but didn't realy like it (models were not very good, I did like the new view). But this looks like it improved a thousend times!! Worth the DL for sure. Aren't these VERY nice weeks for the OFP fan? So many addons released. I love this game!!

miss_cleo 0 Posted March 11, 2004 i like these weapons alot... i like the fact that they are in separate pbo's... i just wish that the necessary textures were packed within each pbo... i only really want to use the ak's... anyway we can get a list of hte texture dependencies for each pbo?
JJonth Cheeky Monkey 1 Posted March 11, 2004 I must admit that the pack isn't very organised, but ive always been like that . If theres anything wrong with the models its not the 3d models, its the textures, but I like them the way they are now  . I'll make a Dragunov and a new PK soon. The extra range is built in the weapons (ammunition actually), not the men. The only change to the soldiers is the FOV. Anyway glad you like it and im especially glad you can't find any bugs. BTW the sniper pack is in with this.

JJonth Cheeky Monkey 1 Posted March 11, 2004 Im thinking of a FAMAS and AUG next (with variants). Thing is they are all western and I need more Russian stuff. I'll make a SVD and a PK for sure, maybe an RPD. Actually i'll get to an AUG and an SVD as soon as possible.
