I was wondering if the team was able to work out all the scripting and related issues for the Colonial Marine's special equipment and weapons. How are the flamethrowers, smart-guns, sentry guns, motion tracker, etc., coming along? At any rate, awesome work, and I know I'm not alone when I say I'm really anticipating this mod. nephilim 0 Posted June 15, 2005 the aliens wil be animated soon sorry that we dont show much atm were trying to hurry with the production but u must understand that all members have life ;) everyone of use has a job etc (well im getting one) im a bit in delay delivering the models to kyle to script/config them some things like the m56 or m240 are basially done we just need to think of proper solutions that will work easily for their functions plz understand i will post pictures of the units asap Share this post Link to post Share on other sites

I know its hard work to make even one little addon like a functioning rifle. It was mainly just a question of curiousity. Take all the time you need! There is no need to appologize If this mod is made carefully and at your own pace, it will be a truly incredible set when finished, so don't let us rush you. -)rStrangelove 0 Posted June 18, 2005 I don't think it's possible to do it in OpF without looking crap. I don't like this kind of wall crawling anyway. It's an invention of the avp games, it's not (directly) from the movie ALIENS. We saw aliens climbing along a ceiling because there were little holes in the metal ground platings or in the alien slime - you never spotted them crawling up a normal wall like in the games. nephilim 0 Posted June 18, 2005 weeeeeeeeeee thie wildest speculations honestly u should get away form the avp idea. the uscm mod wont be about grunts killing bugs.. it will be settled in a fictional war between the us and japan (c uscm tech manual) therefore we wont focus on a alien plot @rogaty its not a direct invention of alien3 u cant hold that argument in alien u can see the alien hang down under before it pierces brent´s skull in aliens u can see the aliens crawl on the ceiling when the marines are already decimated (scene where theres only hicks, vasques, hudson, ripley, newt and burke in the red light room) the alien itself isnt totally defined yet there have been various outtakes in all movies that could give a huge variety of speculations on that lifeform. in alien theres a scene where there bearded guy (forgot the name) is captured by the alien in a shaft as he tried hunting it down. lateron after ripley sets the nostromo to selfdestruct she finds him cocooned somewhere in teh bowels of the ship. the cocoone scene is intresting as u can see how the captive slowly is transformed into a egg, which actually in aliens is layed by a queen. thats just one example... orson 0 Posted June 18, 2005 When Hicks sticks his head up into the ducting and see's the aliens crawling down the duct towards him , they move around the whole inside of the ducting , and its smooth sided . "They'r inside the room man ! " " 10 metres !" The shot was filmed by droping actors in alien suits down a vertical shaft of ducting into a pool to give the impresion they could move about on any surface , like geko's . A guy and me are working on getting it in game as a working motion tracker in AVP2 But you could use my model also if you wanted to. kurow 0 Posted June 20, 2005 Reading all of this good stuff made me watch Aliens. This is very interesting stuff. I tried to download der bastler's colonial marines addon to my ofp game. I have GOTY edition, and for some reason this pops up at the menu. Config.bin/CfgWeapons bastler_M41a Pulse I dont understand what am I doing wrong. This pops up after I try to pick a character No entry !modelSpecial! ? I can see the soldiers without their weapons after I exit the island during the main menu. Is their anyone who can help? kurow 0 Posted June 20, 2005 Yes. I did that before and Still nothing happened. It only allowed for the regular infantry soldiers from opf to use the the m41a. I will try it again just to make sure. Is there a specific place that I need to copy the file to? thanks again. Yeah, tried it again and nothing worked. Just made me a little more made because I have no aliens to shoot at. maybe Im doing something wrong. if its possible can you direct me to the exact location of both addons so I can make sure I dont mess up.
