Commando84 0 Posted January 29, 2004 looks great, always wanted some fishing boats around the harbour towns in Nogova, they would be perfect in my coop mission . Wonder if i can do addweapon code in the initline of the ship to make it carry a m2 machinegun or something like that? Where can i download the police boat, didn't find it anywhere on your site exept a few pics on the utopia page togheter with fishing boat
Spy17 1 Posted January 29, 2004 A nice idea! Adds atmosphere! Concerning the police boat: there is one out in nogova police colours. What I would like to see is a smal ferry for trafic between the islands.

Thats hard to create because if this was possible we would have an LCAC or suchs standarts What? Hard to make? There is already a hovercraft released wich to my knowledge is bigger than the LCAC's. Also there are other large moveable ships, like the Pauk class fast attack boat. So larger ferries would be workeable... Aslong as we don't go cruiseship-size. colonel_klink 0 Posted January 29, 2004 2 new pics: Hoping to implement 6 passenger slots BUT having problems with the animation poses. I may have to release this with just the usual cargo poses until I learn how to: 1. create decent anims, and 2. link the animations to the dying/dead states. Apart from a couple of niggly bits to fix (and the anims) the boat is finished. This is an unarmed vessel. Suggestions for an armed version are welcome. miles teg 1 Posted January 29, 2004 Aye! She looks ah beaut'. Â It would be cool for intro cut-scenes during a thunderstorm as the brave fisherman and his crew struggle to make it back port... but then lose their navigation equipment and find themselves on a secret island military base where the Russians are getting ready to attack the peaceful Republic of Nogova. Â This fishing vessel could also be used for evacuating British troops in WWII missions simulating the real life evacuation from Dunkirk using the British WWII troops and equipment addons along with whatever German addons you like. Â Imagine trying to get to shore to pick up the troops as German planes are bombing and strafing all the boats. http://ragz-international.com/evacuation_from_dunkirk.htm The only problem is that they'll all be named Fairlady 1. But oh well. Chris G. aka-Miles Teg<GD>
mr burns 133 Posted January 29, 2004 Suggestions for an armed version are welcome. make an action menu entry for combat mode. if it´s active the mast forms a radar dish, fishing nets are then misused as camo-net and a m134 lifts up from under the deck regarding pirates: aargh, young sailormate forgot to mention the greatest of al all platforms, the C-

<>Crippler<> 0 Posted January 29, 2004 Theres some names here Klink
colonel_klink 0 Posted January 30, 2004 Thanks Crippler. If someone.. in the know, that is.. could tell me how I can parse a string in a script: e.g. My idea is to allow people to put there own boat name in the editor init section like "[this, "'MYNAMEHERE"] exec "\nameboat.sqs"" and the script would parse each letter of MYNAMEHERE, and setobjecttexture the corresponding letter onto the name of the boat. All I would need to do then is have A-Z and 0-9 as textures.
hellfish6 7 Posted January 30, 2004 I've always wanted a boat named "Hellfish's Folly". Will an empty boat be walk-on-able?
colonel_klink 0 Posted January 30, 2004 I've always wanted a boat named "Hellfish's Folly". Will an empty boat be walk-on-able? lol. My c: Drive has been called 'Bob's Folly' ever since Ive had a PC Â Walkable? Not in this release sorry. Introducing Fairlady 1's (not so) sexy sister ships: Tin Can Allie Ratsguts: D.I.L.L.I.G.A.F. These 3 along with Fairlady 1 have set names. and are as you see are in different color schemes.. I have decided that in the mean time (and the fact I have a chopper or two (or three... ) to finish for the Falklands mod ) after the private beta test is completed I will release these four with standard cargo anims as a public beta, and work on the custom anims for a release with Utopia. This will include the custom name option as well. Official Utopia Postage stamp... not that they have a post office there

Baron von Beer 0 Posted January 30, 2004 Yes, turn it into a James Bondian dream boat. From afar, it looks like some rickety old fishermans mount. Get too close, and say the wrong thing, and wham, the captain pushes that red button. Several MGs spring up along the side. A Minigun appears atop the control housing. 2 Micro SAM launchers flip up on the sides, and below, invisible to anyone but the divers that would inevitably be snooping around as well (or submarine cars that those secret aganes always seem to have) 2 mini torpedo tubes open up. As for the human factor, many men, all dressed in the same uniform, run up to man the deck, and guard the ship. They are all terrible shots, regularly missing from 10m, though they are no worse than the mob of "Commandos" attacking alongside the special agent, who eventually over powers the crew, but only after many close calls, and sporadic melees. If that is too much, I suppose a plain old fishing vessel to use for scenery, or smugglers, etc, isn't too bad either.

I'm really sorry to go offtopic, but I had to post this: Pirates Gold?? That is no achivement! That was pretty modern game, it had 256 colors graphics Now, does anybody remember the very first of all pirate games, The Pirates! Whoa, this is a prehistorical game! I remember being amazed by 4 color CGA graphics. Belive it or not but games those times were much more playable than nowadays (well, OFP is the only exception so far).
