Nice lancer! What's that pod on the centerline? Got to sit in the cockpit of one of these machines once smile_o.gif Elbit did a good job on them!

I think it's a crew support pod (read : pod-mounted-suitcase tounge2.gif )

(my dream is a EOS 350D os similar though, but i dont have THAT much money)

Ahh I recently purchased this fine piece of equipment. Got a BGE-2 battery pack, SIGMA 28-300 lens, 256 CF card, 3 batteries, 2 chargers, multi-card reader, nice and useful carry case all for 1000€ inlove.gif

It's worth saving up for good equipment later than spending money on mediocre equipment immediately wink_o.gif

swedish weapons have barcode stickers on them in order to make it simpler to keep track on them when they are in storage.

however, they tend to fall of after a while in the field :P

These Photos i took Saturday, while we waited for the fog to disappear. It's called the longest day and we try to take off at the first sunbeams in the morning. I had to stand up at 4 o'clock in the morning, but its worth to stand up that early.

I think you'll find 256mb gets filled up pretty quickly, you might want another one of those.  I have 1GB and it gets crowded some days if I'm shooting RAW and I'm out for a full day.  For lenses, I've found the Canon 50mm f1.8 is a really great accessory - it's cheap and made of plastic, but the glass is good.  I got it because it's very light and portable, and is very fast compared to my Sigma 18-200mm.  Extemely tight DOF is good for portraits, and fast -- good in certain low light situations.  The fixed 50mm can get pretty tight on an APS-C sensor.

I was looking at the Peleng 8mm fisheye (made in Belarus, in true soviet fashion -- cheap and simple).  Unfortunately it can't project a full circle onto APS-C sized sensors, so I'm sort of wishing I had a 5D.  I think it's just my new target for wasting money... I hardly use the camera enough to justify spending any more money on it.  If I was to spread the cost across every good photo I've taken... I think I'm still paying about $300 per photo :-P

And: a view of ottawa from the quebec side.  i live a block or two behind that glass tower at the end of the bridge.

@itseme, nice pics! Reminds me of a place where i used to work. It was always foggy in the morning, and I always working very early so I saw a lot of great sunrises... these days I'm more likely to see a sunrise out the window as I'm going to sleep confused_o.gif

I recently managed to snaffle up an Ebay bargain in the from of a barely-used (shutter reports ~700 uses) 300D:

300D.jpg

I've got the BG-E1 battery grip (with 2 batteries) as well as a bunch of accessories. What you can't see on the pic is that the lens (while a standard 18-55mm) is a USM, so much nicer than the regular kitlens.

Because its the limited edition black, and all the accessories, it was just over Å350, only downside is its only got a 256MB card in it at the mo. But I'm owed birthday presents from my sisters, so bring on 2x 1GB cards biggrin_o.gif

Anyho, hope to get out and actually use it soon, the weather has been pretty crappy since I got it, and theres nothing in my uni digs I particularly want to share with the world tounge2.gif

Anyho, some pics I did manage to take:

wide-angle, 33% reduction, Lincoln Cathederal

zoom (55mm), 100% crop, Lincoln Cathederal

33% reduction of above

zoom (55mm), 100% crop, Lincoln Imps stadium, and in the background Lincoln Uni (the big white building and those either side of it)

I'll take "proper" versions of these pics again once I've got my Sigma 70-300mm biggrin_o.gif

A few from the war museum, nothing too photographically spectacular -- the vast majority aren't much to look at.  I was mostly just seeing what they had in stock and adding a bit to my ref collection.  If you keep a low profile, you can sneak around to the back of the BMP1 when nobody is looking (edit: where crew doors are open, and most of the kit is still packed in there).  There's some camo netting suggesting that you aren't supposed to go around there, but the staff was busy cleaning up after a conference on the gallery floor.

It was sort of nice seeing some of these small arms in person, despite being all to familar with them from photo reference.  Too bad there was no PK.

It's a M-38 smile_o.gif it was a fairly common design. In the netherlands they built it under the name of NEKAF. There are LOADS of them driving around now with private owners!

Some crap shots from the midsummer weekend;

Traditional Swedish midsummers celebration, dance around a pole then roll around looking for the beer cooler.

midsummer9dw.jpg

My sisters Australian boyfriend in a traditional sami cap, poor chap must think we are bloody crazy sticking that on him;

dsc0719s9cw.jpg

Crappy shot, the softness is thanks to the ceranwrap I put infront of the frontlens. The crooked horizon I blame on the fact that I was pissed at the time.

I actually have a Sandisk Ultra II 1gb card, 2 x 256mb Sandisk cards and an old 64mb too... I can fit 260 high quality pics on my 1gb card so I have everything I need. I also carry my laptop around with me on all jobs (I'm a pro) so capacity is not a problem, just a 2min task to start afresh smile_o.gifwink_o.gif

Very nice colours, I prefer them rather than the more 'plastic' colors of for example this one.

I like the vibrant colours of the photo you just used as an example... More my style

I think they are both perfect for the telling of this story. The first is when you are drunk and having a great time with your friends on a beautiful summer day... the sunset is somewhat hazy, but still beautiful. Eventually you wake up in a field somewhere with a terrible hangover, harsh and unfriendly morning light, plus the feeling that something is not quite right.

Despite the crappy weather (overcast) I decided to go take some photo's of Uni today.

This is gonna be several posts long (stoopid 6 image per post limit) most images are 33% reductions, click for non-jpeg compression raped versions smile_o.gif

NOTE: I'm fairly new to this "prosumer" photography lark, so any hints/tips are more than welcome biggrin_o.gif

Starting off with the main approach to Uni

(I used to live in the 2nd building on the left)

Heading back towards uni there is a great view of the Cathederal and Castle, framed by the flyover

And going up onto the flyover gives some great views of the Uni buildings and Brayford wharf which the Uni overlooks
