DBR_ONIX 0 Posted August 1, 2005 erm, "No Hotlinking" images, can't see the photos Anyway, a few pictures (outta the.. "lots" I took ) http://i5.photobucket.com/albums/y167/DBR_ONIX/DSCF1148.jpg Newfoundland, Luisport Sunset http://i5.photobucket.com/albums/y167/DBR_ONIX/DSCF1134.jpg Same Place Mink, it ran along the peir (I didn't see it then), then disappeared into the water, and reappaeared about 5mins later with that fish http://i5.photobucket.com/albums/y167/DBR_ONIX/DSCF0763.jpg Bell Island Car handle relfection http://i5.photobucket.com/albums/y167/DBR_ONIX/DSCF0754.jpg Bell Island again. Up the Flag Pole http://i5.photobucket.com/albums/y167/DBR_ONIX/DSCF0730.jpg Bell Island once more. http://i5.photobucket.com/albums/y167/DBR_ONIX/DSCF0820.jpg Tiny Musle (About 3mm long ), on cliff in Avalon http://i5.photobucket.com/albums/y167/DBR_ONIX/DSCF1379.jpg Last one for now. Cape Spear. Old costal-gun place. Was cool, they had a large gun with a range of 8 nautical (Spelling?) miles, but most ships had a range of 12, so I was aimed, then after it was fired, it was pulled down by hydralics, and was hidden behind a wall, so looking from the water, you'd see a grassy hill (And probobly a load of smoke, but it'd disappear quickly I guess..) Here's a picture of it, from behind - Ben Edit : I've used IMG tags on a few of them, others are linked. All pictures about 150kb Edit Mk2 : Didn't realise the 100kb thing applied to this thread (As it's in the CP Thread title, not this). SHould pay more attention *Sits in corner*

denoir 0 Posted August 1, 2005 LOL Your getting real good Denoir! very good pics  Thanks guys, I wish I could take credit. In my opinion however, the quality of the camera and the number of pictures taken has more to do with it than my skills. denoir, are you trying to tell us that you got laid?1. buy her flowers 2. buy her wine 3. take her to romantic place 4. take shower 5. do some "bees and flowers" 6. try to put everything together Hehe. Perhaps, but to me a more like the images served as a form of rorschach test - i.e they are random, but you are interpreting them. In short, it's more a question of you not getting laid than me getting laid.

ozanzac 0 Posted August 2, 2005 Cool pix everyone! I barely ever have the oppurtunity to go photographing, but this weekend I'm intent on heading out to the ARC Rally of South Australia, and wouldn't mind shooting some of the cars whilist in action, and sharing some of the shots on here. (once I get a photobucket account) I know some of the roads like the back of my hand, as they're some of my favourite tracks to go trail biking on. So expect some good ones. What I'm after, is a little help in what I should be looking out for in a digital camera. Specifications, particular models / manufacturers worth looking at e.t.c. Nothing too fancy, but something that won't be outdone by a damn camera phone in a few years time. I'm assuming that an average digital camera nowadays would be around 3 - 5 megapixels, but that's an uneducated guess I'll be hoping to make my purchase by this Friday morning. (Edit) Apologies if such a noob discussion has taken place prior to this, but I don't particularly have the time to search through 150 pages of discussion, let alone potentially 150 pages of images on a 56k connection! raedor 8 Posted August 2, 2005 erm there are the first phone cams with 3 megapixels cameras have a bit more, depends on how much money you want spend. and i am sure that the phone handys have as many pixels in less than a year.

Really.....bugger.....now I'm really feeling out of my depths! Well, $500 au is the limit I've set myself. (Which I figure is reasonable amount to spend for a digital still camera) But it'd be handy not needing to spend that much, but still get a camera capable of capturing with clarity, for instance: cars travelling at high speed flying through the air! ozanzac 0 Posted August 2, 2005 This could very well be a stupid, idiotic, console gamer question, but, could Gran Turismo 4's 'Photo Mode', be useful in firstly, to find out what minimal specifications (Lens, Zoom, Digital Zoom, Aperture, Shutter speed e.t.c.) would be necessary for quality high speed pictures, and secondly, does anyone know if the stats presented in GT4's professional photo mode is true to life enough for setting up a camera for that, almost identical purpose? DBR_ONIX 0 Posted August 2, 2005 http://www.steves-digicams.com/2003_reviews/s7000.html I got it for Å250GBP, which is just over the $500AUS. But, it's a great camera, it takes a few days to learn (Without the manual.. But you can download the manual, as my one didn't come with an english printed one) But it's easy to use for point/click, and has lots of things like changing exposure time/shutter speed stuff. And theres an option to take pictures every 1/4 second (Adjustable somewhere ) as long as you hold the button, so you could hold it when the cars come and then you can select the best ones afterwards And the video filming option is pretty good to, the sounds not good, but then again the sound on my video camera isn't all that much better It's costs quite a bit, but it's a good camera. can't really recommend anything else as I've only really used a few digital cameras (Canon Powershot A500 is good too, acctualy, and will be cheaper than the S7000) Basicly, get a canon or fuji camera thats over 3M and it'll be good - Ben

I'll be continually reading this thread whilist researching camera's further (and mucking around with GT4 photo mode), right up until a couple of minutes before the purchase on friday.... Bummer part is I'll probably have just enough time to charge the batteries, and sought of pre-set the camera before heading out on saturday and sunday to shoot stuff..... Heck, I'm actually doing a recce run on the bike as a detour on the way home from uni tommorrow to look for decent positions to shoot from!

Supah 0 Posted August 2, 2005 Today I went to the "National Aviation Themepark" I.E. Aviation museum with far to many children in it, at Lelystad airport in the polder (a huge slab of land reclaimed from the water which we could still do if we made work camps for ill-mannered ADHD children we seem to have a huge surplus of here ... great idea of myself :P Sorry for the rant ) First of! A Koolhoven 23! While fokker went and worked for the germans Koolhoven did some work for the british, though with less succes then fokker. Still a nice looking plane! Probably one of the most infamous fighter planes ever, the fokker dreidecker. Flown by germanies finest like baron von richthoven and germanies craziest cross dresser Herman Goring. The coolest thing ever made in the Netherlands, The Fokker S-14 Mach-Trainer. Designed as a competitor to the T-33 it lost due to it being more dutch and the americans were basically giving away T-33's for free "Buy now pay .. what evah" It was one fast Fokker though! (pun intended) The predecesor to the quite succesfull F-27 was the mildly succesfull Fokker 50. Borrowing heavily from the earlier design it features better engines, structural upgrades and fastly improved avionics. They haven't managed to remove the ugly though. And now for something some of you might recognize from FS9 ... yes its the flying lawnmower. Aptly named Kolibri this will also fall apart when flown into a shopwindow but will, like its name sake, leave nothing more then a greasy stain on the window. A lady that needs no introduction! The C-47 Skytrain!
Supah 0 Posted August 2, 2005 And last but most certainly not least, the most beautifull thing I had seen in months. The Lockheed Constellation, the main reason for ever enduring hours and hours of spoilt brats, long qeues and the high ticket price (plus seperate parking fee). Gleaming and beautifull they actually started up engines number 2 and 4. Number 4 backfired vigoriously at low RPM's which did manage to scare of half the annoying minors, a good thing. The sound of those 2 Wright Cyclone R3350 was fantastic! If I was obscenely rich I would buy this thing and have myself flown across the world in it. Its fantastic!
