Testing my new toy by taking a closer look at a particularly flowery balcony:

telescope003small.jpg

It's pretty damn tricky to take pictures through a telescope without a camera mount! crazy_o.gif

Bought it for $20, since it's nice and compact so I can just throw it in a backpack when I go camping, and gets around 100X zoom smile_o.gif

are you becoming a voyuer? crazy_o.gif

I was just testing it out, and unfortunately the only view I get from my balcony is of other buildings and their balconies. I don't plan on spying on any "heavenly bodies" within those, hell most of the people in my neighborhood are seniors anyhow  crazy_o.gif

Quote[/b] ]where is the crosshair? tounge_o.gif

*Chuckle*. I considered editing a Dragunov reticle onto it, but I'm feeling lazy smile_o.gif

Well Albert Schweitzer didn´t look like Sylvester Stallone also  tounge_o.gif

No, I definetly look anything but dangerous! biggrin_o.gif But this palmtree is a dangerous weapon... whether you believe it or not. If you cut yourself with this one you will feel the pain. This guy chose the right weapon!

Nice, I especially like the last one. How'd you manage that without any photoediting? wow_o.gif

During the exposure I zoom the lens in and out. I have a 70-300mm lens which helps with this, but you can do it with any SLR zoom lens...

What shutter speed did you use in those photos?

Depends really, any where from 1/160 to 1/2 will give you a good zoom effect. But these particular shots were:

1/2/3: 1/10 F/5.6

4: 1/20 F/5.6

5: 1/10 F 5.6

From last week's 4x4 family trip to Israel's Negev region:

Local road hazzards sign, midwestern Negev, Israel, near the Egyptian border.

Local road hazzards in the flesh. My husband had the pedal to the floor at 160+KMPH when 4 of them decided to cross the road ahead of us. crazy_o.gif

Negev sunset, somewhere between the Negev towns of Ophakim and Rahat.
