Footmunch 0 Posted October 6, 2003 I'll say it one more time: you're perfectly within your rights to say "This Sucks". If you do, then you can't expect the addon maker to improve it, because he/she doesn't know which bit of it you have the biggest problem with. Just say "The texturing sucks", and we'll all move forward together, like one big happy family . Also, if anyone wants to take the planes as they are, and improve them themselves, please feel free. I can offer help with the current models/scripts via PM. All models are un-binarized, and the texture mapping is usually fairly simple. Of course, if you do re-release, please change Tags, otherwise things get confusing. Proto: Metal skins on the Sabre are _well_ beyond my skinning abilities. Without fancy reflections in the graphics engine, it's very hard to represent the 'shine' of the planes (although Konyak has come close in his _excellent_ Antonov). Custom pilots are _not_ planned by me. There is a definite 'gap' for good 'Cold War' pilot models, on East and West side - BraTTy's pilot is the closest so far, but is WW2 era. ExtracTioN : Hmm, would this be from personal experience? All: I'll get the F4 smoking like a chimney soon. Darker smoke with speed/afterburner should be possible. ozanzac 0 Posted October 6, 2003 Hey Footmunch, could you post some close up side on and head on pics of your F-4's nose? Just wanna see if the nose looks kind of like an RF-4E, the recon version. If it doesn't I beleive it would be easy for you to tweak the model a bit to make a recon version. If you do end up doing this, make the RF-4E a little bit faster than the F-4E, as the RF-4E has a cleaner airflow under the nose. I'll still be satisfied even if you don't do this. Cheers, Ozanzac. ExtracTioN 0 Posted October 8, 2003 ExtracTioN :Hmm, would this be from personal experience? I have tried that m8 but no luck I suck always with config.cpp files I cant write them but I know it is possible Thought you are skilled in config writing so you could do it and hope you make it cos I would love to see a napalm bomb in OFP it will rock
Chill 0 Posted October 8, 2003 F4 is great! Could you please put a nice detailed cockpit in?
Footmunch 0 Posted October 8, 2003 Cockpit underway. Engine exhaust: New loadout: Left to right: AGM-88 Harm, 3 Lau-67 on MER, 4 AIM-7 Sparrow, 3 Mk-82's on MER, AGM-88. I put the Harm's on for a taste of F-4G Wild Weasel action (I may do a full G model later on, as well as RF-4, FGR, etc. - lets get one out the door, and _then_ start the nose jobs ). Second beta at the end of this week.

Footmunch 0 Posted October 8, 2003 At this point it's _probably_ going to be pilot + cargo. I don't think the workload of a back-seat gunner can really be 'simulated' in the game engine, although I'm ready to be proved wrong.
Trenchfeet 0 Posted October 8, 2003 Any 1 doubting Fotmunches work should de pbo one of his planes and take a look then go to then next, then go to the next... When you get bored of this, just stop and think of how may planes he has made!!!! Also he will have 1 totally finished plane very soon the Spitfire
Trenchfeet 0 Posted October 8, 2003 forgot to add i think the f4 may very well be his beat yet!!! and if those wizards can make that ils system it will be even better
Footmunch 0 Posted October 8, 2003 Trench, I'd just like to say publicly that you've done that Spitfire model proud. Deep joy

One 0 Posted October 9, 2003 wow, i'm definitely looking forward to newer versions of your phantom, its one of my favorite planes out there, keep up the good work any plans for a US navy version?
Stag 0 Posted October 9, 2003 Nice work, I love the smoke. Will other loadouts be available? HARM puts the aircraft after Vietnam. Back then, they would have used Shrike, or maybe (again, this may be a bit late) the Standard ARM.
lee_h._oswald 0 Posted October 9, 2003 The engine exhaust looks very realistic. Nice feature. MfG Lee
Footmunch 0 Posted October 9, 2003 Lee - What are you doing here? Wardog - Yep, those -88's might be -45's by the time I finish, but I had an -88 model to hand. Standard ARM's - thanks, I'd forgotten about those. Other loadouts - well, you've got 'something for everyone' already: HARM's to deal with SAM/AAA threats from distance, bombs to clean up any armoured targets in close, and rockets to apply the coup de grace. Plus some Sparrows for self defence should any MiG's turn up. Cluster bombs/Napalm/AA versions may be applied later...
lee_h._oswald 0 Posted October 9, 2003 Lee - What are you doing here? Just say what I think and bring up the "stone throwing MOB" against me. MfG Lee
bucket man 2 Posted October 10, 2003 You should add Tonal's flag to roundels list so that your mig's and other great planes could be used as TAF's planes. (TAF=Tonal Air Force)
One 0 Posted October 10, 2003 definitely add tonals flag, if its ok with BAS
killagee 0 Posted October 11, 2003 Footmunch: Could you post a couple of shots about how your NH-90's coming along? No word from EADS as yet... I will let you know as soon as possible. P.S. Could you fit a JAS-39C/D Gripen into your production line...? Love your work G.
Footmunch 0 Posted October 13, 2003 BAS Roundels Already in progress (ie done but not yet posted). Thanks to Ebud and Hellfish6. No Gripen planned as yet. I'll post some pictures of the NH-90 soon, I promise. Blueprints would be helpful, especially around the cargo door area, where it's mostly (inspired) guesswork. killagee 0 Posted October 13, 2003 Looking forward to it. I have sent another email to the contact at NH Industries asking for detailed photos and/or plans of the Cargo Door area and interior.
hellfish6 7 Posted October 13, 2003 Maybe ask them for sounds too. I'd be cool to have an NH90 that sounds like an NH90 (even though I don't know how they sound)
