hellfish , there's not much to say about this guy , once you've talked about his power on a political and financiary plan and his arrogance , you've made his portrait

I agree with that

This gangster doesnt deserve more talking about him.

Seeing all denoir signatures around here, here's a quote from one of his latest posts:

Edit: On the other hand one can wonder about how good idea the EU is when you see what idiot politicans Italy always manages to spawn. Their politicains make George W. Bush look like the reincarnation of John F. Kennedy.

I'll let that quotation voice my opinion here too.

And this is one of the most scary pictures I have ever seen  wow_o.gif  :

See here, the two people with the wold's largest power/intelligence ratio  wink_o.gif

Well don't worry, I don't think he will be in power all that long. smile_o.gif No chance he'll have time to spawn any "liberation" operations or such in this amount of time. biggrin_o.gif

He has 6 months.

2 first months goes to Holidays.

And the last one is Christmas.

So he actually has only 3 months. What a relief smile_o.gif

The Italian foreign minister said something about stopping illegal immigrants with cannons or something. EU is in good hands. No need to worry.

Didn't he once say that the western civilisation was superior to others, and used the islam as an example of an inferior civilisation?

Very smart thing to do in these times.

You're right. According to sociodemographic trends, Europe will resemble the current middle east in 30-40 years. Don't disgrace your future. tounge_o.gif

Berlusconi officially apologised in a telephonic-talk he had with Chancellor Schroeder...

Anybody mentioned that Mr. Bush congratulated Berlusconi for his great speech?

This can't be true because I'm sure Bush doesn't know how to correctly pronounce Berlusconi's name.

This is the first time I see the whole forum agree with something that has to do with politics. We have a common enemy now. That's nice. When things heat up, we can dig out the good ol' Berlusconi thread and be friends again. smile_o.gif

Yes it is not usual in that forum to see that kind of situation.

I suggest to close the topic and make it sticky , so when you are depressed by someone here , just give a look to the Berlusconi thread and sing

"It's not unusual, to be mad with anyone

It's not unusual, to be sad with anyone

but if I ever find that you've changed at anytime

it's not unusual to find out that I'm in love with you"

Berlusconi officially apologised in a telephonic-talk he had with Chancellor Schroeder...

Schroeder said : "I take what he said for an apology."

That means : Berlusconi didn't really apologize and Schroeder didn't really mind.

From Here

Quote[/b] ]ROME - Premier Silvio Berlusconi insisted Friday he had never apologized to Germany, saying he merely said he was sorry that his "joke" likening a German lawmaker to a Nazi prison guard had been misunderstood.

The Italian leader remained defiant in the face of demands from the European Parliament that he apologize and warnings by many that Italy's stint as European Union (news - web sites) president could be deeply damaged by the controversy.

Berlusconi hosted his first meeting of the EU executive body, the European Commission (news - web sites). Afterwards, he insisted he was the offended party in the exchange this week with German lawmaker Martin Shulz at the European Parliament.

"I have not made any apology as far as the case of the German lawmaker is concerned," Berlusconi told reporters who asked him about the incident. "On the contrary, I have underlined strongly that I felt offended for the grave words that had been directed not only toward me but toward my country."

"I have added that if anybody interpreted what was meant as an ironic joke as damage to a deep feeling of a country, I was very sorry," he continued. "But I have not apologized."

Germany had declared its spat with Italy over after Chancellor Gerhard Schoeder spoke by phone on Thursday with Berlusconi. German officials said Berlusconi expressed regret over the comments.

"For us, the matter is closed with the apology," German Foreign Minister Joschka Fischer said in Brussels on Friday. "'What we want is a successful Italian presidency in the interests of Europe."

Asked about Berlusconi's comments Friday, a German government spokesman referred to remarks earlier in the day by Schroeder's spokesman, Bela Anda, who said Berlusconi had clearly "expressed regret" over the expression.

"This was generally viewed as an apology and I think rightly so, and everything else is a semantic consideration that I won't get involved in," Anda said.

Berlusconi was also asked if he would apologize to the European Parliament, as has been suggested by the body's conservative vice president, and indicated he would not.

"As far as the European Parliament is concerned, the situation is the same," Berlusconi said.

Berlusconi said he had expressed "profound appreciation, profound respect" for the European Parliament, but said he had been offended as its guest.

"I'm sorry if this might have hurt the sensibility of somebody, but these sensibilities cannot be one way," he said.

The incident began Wednesday when Schulz asked Berlusconi about recent laws that the premier's critics say help him skirt around his legal problems. Berlusconi fired back saying Schulz would make a "perfect" Nazi prison guard in a film.

On Friday, Schulz called on Berlusconi to apologize to the European Parliament, but said he had no intention of apologizing for his own comments that prompted the outburst.

The conservative vice president of the parliament, Ingo Friedrich, made a similar appeal, saying "a clash between prima donnas must not endanger our ability to work at European level."

He said there was a risk that the Italian EU presidency "will become a flop" unless Berlusconi makes a move.

The gaffe continued to make headlines across Europe.

"It not only strengthens European partners' reservations against the EU president, but also confirms Berlusconi in his own prejudices," the Berliner Zeitung wrote.

The leftist Rome daily La Repubblica newspaper headlined its front-page editorial "A Mortified Country."

"The offense that the premier made to Schulz, to Germany and Europe, has been repaired only in form, not substance," the newspaper wrote. "Italy starts its turn as EU president with a handicap that cannot be canceled."

Britain's Financial Times said the incident shows the dangers of Berlusconi's control over the Italian media, noting that state-run RAI television had omitted reporting on the gaffe Wednesday afternoon and only paraphrased what the premier had said in its Wednesday evening broadcast.

"He lives in a media bubble where his public gaffes and gratuitous insults go largely unreported at home — at least until he goes abroad," it wrote.

Berlusconi is Italy's richest man, presiding over a US$7.8 billion media empire that includes the nation's largest private broadcaster, Mediaset. Combined with state-run RAI, he controls about 90 percent of the television market in Italy, leading critics to charge he uses his influence over information to benefit his political and personal interests.

Berlusconi complains he is the victim of leftist opponents.

Berlusconi (lol, coni resembles koni which is finnish and means hack, nag) thinks he's some kind of führer. Why does he think that he's above others? He may be a big guy in Italy, but in the EU he's just a parlament member.

Can't find an English article, so I'll translate a dutch one I found:

Quote[/b] ]Within a week a new riot between Germany and Italy is about to occur. The Italian secretary of economics Stefani insulted German tourists, annoying kansler Schröder.

Acording to Stefani (Lega Nord) the Germans are populating "our beaches loudly, drunk of selfconfidence. They're simple supernationalistic blond pleople". He said this in a newspaper.

Schröder threatens to call of his vacation in Italy if the Italian gouvernment agrees with the words of Stefani. Last week the Italian prime minister Berlusconi insulted German EP member Schulz.

Those Italians... rock.gif
