Placebo 29 Posted July 1, 2003 Press print scrn, open paint package, press CTRL+V to paste the screen grab, use the select tool to cut out a piece of the sig from top to bottom and it should say the height in pixels of the selected extract, I do this with Paint Shop Pro. WhoCares 0 Posted July 2, 2003 Wilkommen You might try a translator that is capable to translate phrases, eg. dict.leo.org Unfortunatly it is in german, but it translates both ways...

Major Fubar 0 Posted July 4, 2003 Can anything be done to restore the full use of IB code in sigs? How do you mean? What could you previously do that you can't now?
theavonlady 2 Posted July 6, 2003 Can anything be done to restore the full use of IB code in sigs? How do you mean? What could you previously do that you can't now? Â If you have an IMG embedded within a URL bracket, it may get truncated. Here's what happened to me. I coded: <table border="0" align="center" width="95%" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0"><tr><td>Code Sample </td></tr><tr><td id="CODE"> http://www.theavonlady.org/theofpfaq/images/ofp_faq_button.gif][/img] It automatically gets truncated to: <table border="0" align="center" width="95%" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0"><tr><td>Code Sample </td></tr><tr><td id="CODE"> http://www.theavonlady.org/theofpf....mg] The "....." are placed in the IMG file's URL and the ending IMG bracket is lost. This is definitely an Iknoboard bug. This only started occurring after BIS changed the forums format. Beforehand, it always worked, as it still does in posts. My sig, below, now requires the mixture of IB code and HTML. The HTML forces the FAQ button to start on a new line and I would like it to be on the same line as the flag. blackdog~ 0 Posted July 6, 2003 Yeah you need to fix the bug that theavonlady suggested. It's really annoying. Look at the ugly blue box around my signature, it already has a pretty modern-design-looking 1px black box around it, and I don't want no 80's lookin' blue boxes! theavonlady 2 Posted July 6, 2003 Yeah you need to fix the bug that theavonlady suggested. It's really annoying. That's one problem. Quote[/b] ]Look at the ugly blue box around my signature That can be resolved by coding border="0" in your HTML, as I did. See code sample below: <table border="0" align="center" width="95%" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0"><tr><td>Code Sample </td></tr><tr><td id="CODE"><a target="_blank" href="http://www.theavonlady.org/theofpfaq/"> <img border="0" src="http://www.theavonlady.org/theofpfaq/images/ofp_faq_button.gif" alt="The Avon Lady's OFP FAQ"></a>

ralphwiggum 6 Posted July 6, 2003 use <table border="0" align="center" width="95%" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0"><tr><td>Code Sample </td></tr><tr><td id="CODE">:;): the new smilie on left uses that. this was implemented after upgrade due to the fact that sometimes iKonboard had hardtime realizing that some people use ';' and other character together in certain cases.(like when they are quoting?) OxPecker 0 Posted August 7, 2003 OK - I got questions: what the bloody hell is and isnt conisdered spam? Seems like every second poster here is getting accused of spam when all they are doing is making a relevant joke or posting a fuuny pic. We need damn giudelines to stop the more cranky mods from dishing out prs and post count reductions willynilly. Also, how about some blooody leeway with old topics. You say we are allowed to contribute to old threads if we have something relevant, but then you unilaterally lock them when we post to them. make up your minds, or give us a clu, eh?
ralphwiggum 6 Posted August 7, 2003 spams are usually the posts that has irrelevant content, or exists just for purpose of existing. a simple one liner does not add much to a value's direction and should it be deemed a spam, will be treated accordingly. look at some of lengthy threads with serious discussions. you don't see a spam, and even if there is one, it usually gets back on topic sooner or later. however, like some threads that were recently posted, it has no substance of itself, and gets only stupid responses. those are spams. the rule stipulates that no thread over 4 month should be dug up. however, as long as there is something significant you contribute, say like a new patch release for a game thread, or soldner thread, then we can let it go. The Frenchman 0 Posted August 12, 2003 I notice that sometimes when a member is PR'ed they do or dont get the little square thingy. Why is this?

hellfish6 7 Posted August 12, 2003 I notice that sometimes when a member is PR'ed they do or dont get the little square thingy. Why is this? Whether or not a person gets a square "thingy" is determined by the mod. Some people may get it with a PR, some may just get a PR - it's largely determined by the offense. For example, if I've warned somebody about spamming and they continue to do it, I'll probably give them a PR and a warning level increase. If someone posts flame or they flame bait, and it's a first offense, I will probably only give a PR. These are examples, mind you. Circumstances can differ. The square itself is a warning level - if you get five of those boxes you are automatically permanantly PRed. It's a way of making a visual warning that you'd better knock off whatever crap you're doing. It also serves as a deterrent to future offenses by said person or other people that see them. Jamesia 0 Posted August 12, 2003 Question for the moderator....... What the heck just happened here? An Ikonboard bug?
ralphwiggum 6 Posted August 13, 2003 no. user's fault. "Quote" tags tend to cause a lot of problems if used incorrectly.
