reedkiller 0 Posted May 30, 2003 @blackdog~ -- I would edit those adresses out or someone may abuse them. Also THANKYOU i will make use of them THANKYOU. @Jamesia -- Kegety's Sky pack installer Does not appear to work with Windows 98,95,ME. This is due to a very small errorhe made in the creation of the installer. I just corrected it with a hex editor and now it works! Download at Sky update (less than 10k) You still need to download the sky pack. details in the read me.
benu 1 Posted May 30, 2003 Did you contact Kegetys so he can fix the official version?
reedkiller 0 Posted May 30, 2003 I was not planning to release this so i just fixed it for my self. I noticed that I was not the only person wit problems so just released the fix (with Kegety's premission). Anyway it is kinder to 56k people like this. However Kegetys is more than welcome to release the updated files as part of his pack. Just to amke this clear --DO NOT CREDIT ME WITH THIS IT IS A TINY FIX--

reedkiller 0 Posted June 1, 2003 supah - you did download my fix at the top of the topic, right?
benu 1 Posted June 1, 2003 Supah: it works on xp pro right away, without the fix here. And unless you tell WHAT you did, WHERE the hisky folder is your ofp folder and HOW exactly you start ofp nobody can really help or only guess what you did wrong... Beagle 684 Posted July 31, 2003 What about a fixed version of Hisky, that would allow Win 98/ME users to install it...?
HotShot 0 Posted September 6, 2003 I got a problem with Hisky. When ever its installed, and i play a mission/preview one i've made with the Ural (Official Version) on the map, OFP crashes to Desktop Anything i can do so that i can still use Hisky? Cause almost every mission uses the Ural in someway or another, so if theirs not a way around it, then i will have to just use the normal Sky (which looks pretty crap compared to Hisky). eisa01 0 Posted September 6, 2003 You get the p3d error or something similar??? If you do, I know how to fix it.
HotShot 0 Posted September 6, 2003 No, no error warning or anything. It just suddenly crashes when i click Preview.
eisa01 0 Posted September 6, 2003 It was the the ural I got a p3d error on and made any mission with it crash. So maybe you wanna try what I did. Depbo the data.pbo and data3d.pbo in the res\dta or in res\dta\hwtl if your'e using HWTL. Manually replaced the files with those from newdata folder in the hisky archive. *.paa and *.pac goes in data.pbo *.p3d goes in data3d.pbo. Pbo it all together. Make a modfolder for it and use a shortcut with the -mod command. PS: I advice you to use cpbo which is in the bin folder. For me it was much faster. It's a command line tool, but if you open install.bat up in Notepad you should figure out how it works. Hope this helps!
charlis 2 Posted September 12, 2003 Sorry to "revive" this but i used high res (with xp, -mod folder) and it was working fine but i reinstalled ofp and suddenlly i got that "Cannot open object data3d\uralt.p3d" and other similars. My ofp directory is exactly the same but dont know why this start to happen. Anyway I figured out that lots of peolple got this problem so I don´t think u all mind giving a little UP. Well i hope this works ´cause play ofp without high res isn´t the same thing :-[. PS.: I also send an email to Kegetys asking him infos but no way he answered me
charlis 2 Posted September 12, 2003 Well, I´had tried that and it has almost solved the problem, it works fine excepts with some addons, i think, I tried many difrent missions and sometimes (with BAS Chinook cargo and blackhwk missions for example) I got this error message after games crashes to desktop " Bad p3d file". With lots other addons and missions it seems to work th no prob. Does anybody know what that might be? I did just as eisa said and I´ll run some more tests later. Do u think that is possible to something went wrong in decompress/compress file? I used unpbo and makrpbo to do job!!! (ural has no problems anymore ;) ) Help me plz!!!! I must have High res skies working fuine again!!! thnx gain people!!!
eisa01 0 Posted September 12, 2003 So you go it working? I think something went wrong in the decompression/compression too.

Hey eisa, I know im asking too much but, is there any possibility of you host or send me yours data3d.pbo ? If not, maybe anyone else could? Help peolple im getting hopeless   Thanks guys, i´ll keep my tests here, i´ll report if i get any new, thanks again and a lot!!!!
GoOB 0 Posted September 15, 2003 I asked Kegetys on IRC regarding getting the hisky pack to work on windows98/ME but I think he is busy with other projects. Too bad I really liked those skies for the period I had them installed
norsu 180 Posted September 15, 2003 Check the original HiSky thread, someone posted a solution to Win98/ME problems there. *edit* Well here you go: Quote[/b] ]hmm... first of all, batch installer seems not to be compatible with Win98 command shell, in which...a) del '/Q' parameter is illegal b) copy '/Y' parameter should be one of the last parameters so... the installer batch should look like that (for persons having troubles in Win98): Code Sample  @echo off cls echo. If exist newdata\jasno.pac goto ok1 echo Installfiles not found. goto end :ok1 If not exist ..\res\dta\data.pbo echo ERROR data.pbo not found If not exist ..\res\dta\data.pbo goto end If not exist ..\res\dta\data3d.pbo echo ERROR data3d.pbo not found If not exist ..\res\dta\data3d.pbo goto end If not exist ..\res\dta\hwtl\data.pbo echo ERROR hwtl/data.pbo not found If not exist ..\res\dta\hwtl\data.pbo goto end If not exist ..\res\dta\hwtl\data3d.pbo echo ERROR hwtl/data3d.pbo not found If not exist ..\res\dta\hwtl\data3d.pbo goto end echo This will process datafiles as required for high resolution skies. echo None of the original OFP files will be modified. echo. echo Before proceeding, please make sure that you have echo at least 400MB free space on this drive. echo. echo. echo Press any key to continue or ctrl-c to abort. pause >NUL mkdir dta mkdir dta\hwtl mkdir temp del temp\*.* cls echo Processing dta\data.pbo... echo. bin\cpbo.exe -e ..\res\dta\data.pbo temp copy newdata\*.pa? temp /Y bin\cpbo.exe -p temp dta\data.pbo del temp\*.* cls echo Processing dta\hwtl\data.pbo... echo. bin\cpbo.exe -e ..\res\dta\hwtl\data.pbo temp copy newdata\*.pa? temp /Y bin\cpbo.exe -p temp dta\hwtl\data.pbo del temp\*.* cls echo Processing dta\data3d.pbo... echo. bin\cpbo.exe -e ..\res\dta\data3d.pbo temp del temp\obloha.p3d.srpc copy newdata\obloha.p3d temp /Y bin\cpbo.exe -p temp dta\data3d.pbo del temp\*.* cls echo Processing dta\hwtl\data3d.pbo... echo. bin\cpbo.exe -e ..\res\dta\hwtl\data3d.pbo temp del temp\obloha.p3d.srpc copy newdata\obloha.p3d temp /Y bin\cpbo.exe -p temp dta\hwtl\data3d.pbo del temp\*.* cls echo. echo all done. echo You can now run OFP with high resolution skies by using -mod=hisky parameter. :end pause This worked perfectly for me.
