Shashman 0 Posted May 28, 2003 Hi there I am also having serious problems with my OFP.It is crashing all the time after about 5 minutes no matter what I am doing, whether it be SP,MP or even in the Mission Editor. My PC completely freezes and makes weird sounds, like my speakers are badly plugged in and a high pitch repeating beeping sound. All I can do is reboot.I reinstalled OFP 3 times today each time with one thing or another installed or not installed.1st time I installed CWC and Resistance and patched it up to 1.91 and installed most addons I had before, but it still crashed in the same way.2nd time I reinstalled CWC,Resistance and patched it up to 1.90 installing only the addons my squad use and a few of the widely used addons (total addons not exceeding 350mb).3rd time I only installed CWC with no patches or addons....JUST CWC,and it still crashed.I also tried running OFP with different settings but this didn't solve the problem. I had this problem a while back when I installed the SEB Nam Pack 2 and what I did to fix it was a complete system reinstall, which is something I'd like to avoid doing, as this is time consuming and I have files I don't want to lose. I'd really appreciate any help anybody could give... Mister Frag 0 Posted May 31, 2003 I thought the A7V8X BIOS was supposed to give friendly voice warnings instead of beep codes during the POST? ??? Anyway, here is what the Award BIOS POST beep codes mean: One long beep, two short beeps: video problem (bad or missing video card) Any other beep combination: memory problem (bad, missing, or improperly seated RAM), or possibly a motherboard problem
berghoff 11 Posted June 1, 2003 I also figured out that it's not my SB live! 5.1 Because I disabled it! Right something wrong in the bios or at my video card. I can't change my agp setting with my Radeon 9700pro with my GF3 I can. (strange) I got an 2400+ Athlon XP,in the bios is set to 2000mhz but It keeps getting error messeges like "During the last boot-up your system hangs from an incorrect cpu speed" Yeah right

Guest Posted August 4, 2003 Hmm, I have AMD ATHLON XP (1900+) too, geforce 3 Sounblaster 5.1, WIN XP etc What I understand this is a common restart candidate... My game crashes on explosions that hit me. Well say a tank shots at me with sabot. And puff reboot. I dont have much addons. At least my comp crashed totally a couple of days before the problem, I managed to evac the addons to my other hard drive. Then I applied them again, (they worked good before). So It's NOT the ADDONS. It's the drivers my comp say. Strange because I have the latest of everything. Anyway I think that the DirectX has to do something with this. It may be so that you need an older versin of it installed too.
jtec 0 Posted August 29, 2003 You guys check your agp aparture size too? I had recently built a new pc and it would restart a random times (didnt have no addons too) i changed my AGP settings and it hasnt happened since. Have a quick mess around with your agp settings and see if that has anything to do with it.

Jonno 0 Posted September 21, 2003 dear oh dear, Iv enjoyed OFP since release, but since upgrading my PC it now crashes and freezes the PC randomly, quite often at imes malking it impossible to play a game, I have upgraded my CPU, sound a gfx Athlon XP 3200 SB Audigy 2 GeForce (3D Blaster 5) FX 5900 256mb I thought it may be due to my having only 512 mb of ram, but my addons folder is only 391 mb atm, but has been doing it since the upgrade and I had 512 ram b4 also. I upgraded my nVidia (detonator) drivers, tried various settings, still it freezes, Iv spent the last 20 min trying to set up a simple screenshot of some Project UKF stuff, but still havent take the screenshot as it keeps freezing b4 I can.
