Billabong81 0 Posted December 22, 2004 hehe, HL comes on a DVD and takes up around 5 gb Thats no problem, I have one 100gb HD and one 200gb HD . 751mb is just huge for a download, even on broadband. I can't imagine any 56kers downloading it. By the way, if you already have steam, download it from steam. If you download the 751mb zip it gets confusing quick . Just a friendly suggestion . Cpt. FrostBite 0 Posted December 22, 2004 will take me half an hour or so. That's not very long. But I already have the game, and since the demo does not contain unique levels I won't try it.
der bastler 0 Posted December 24, 2004 Some days ago... "Yeehaa, finally a demo for HL2! What, only with STEAM?" "No thanks!" I hope BIS will not adopt these bad manners.
Cpt. FrostBite 0 Posted December 24, 2004 yep, steam can be a pain in the ass, but when in installed correctly it works quite well. The main reason for steam is to rule out the changes of hackers ruining MP games. This is a good thing IMO.

kavoven 4 Posted December 24, 2004 On my computer, I've got a little program which shows me, how many KB download and how many upload there are. When steam is running, the upload window is always on a level of 5-7 KB, I wonder what steam's uploading there... Anyway, I've uninstalled it now.
benu 1 Posted December 24, 2004 I have heard there are HL2 versions that work without steam. Did not try those though, but talked to guys that have.
blackdog~ 0 Posted December 24, 2004 Does anyone here want to buy an HL2 strategy guide? I have obtained a second copy, but I only need one, so I'm trying to find someone to buy my extra copy. They are selling for $16.50 on Amazon.com so I'll sell it for $15.00 plus S&H via USPS (cheaper than UPS)... Anyone interested please shoot me a PM.... brgnorway 0 Posted January 4, 2005 If any of you have finished HL2 could you please help me with a little hint or two about how to get on from the point where you just entered the "tower" ? I'm sort of stuck after I jumped down on the "balcony" inside the tower and I'm not able to go or jump anywhere?
Cpt. FrostBite 0 Posted January 4, 2005 You are. Just walk around and you'll see that somewhere you can jump down about 6 feet and than you can continue. I can't really tell you where, because I don't realy remember, but that part of HL is pretty straightforward; there's only one way you can go. Just search for it. It's really not that hard to find. The most difficult thing is that everything looks the same in there.

Albert Schweitzer 10 Posted January 28, 2005 Germany Vivendi is being sewed for not being clear about Stream Requirements and for declaring that their american User agreements also count for germany (which they are not) In case they dont change their system they might have to pay 6000 Euro for each game sold in germany. For german readers only
EiZei 0 Posted January 28, 2005 Wish that they would finally put a stop on software companies insisting that their EULAs overrides any national laws and consumer protection.

ebns72 0 Posted June 28, 2005 http://media.santoalt.com/videos/counter_struck.wmv Found this on the CS forums...though I'm not one of em I know there are a lot of CS haters here who I think would find this funny. the video mocks the overall "realism" of counterstrike (0 of course)...just watch it however, you kinda have to have played counterstrike to get some of it.
