cam0flage 0 Posted March 17, 2003 I found my Gerber multitool/knife very useful in the army. Edit: Found the website. Here's the one I own. I can sincerely recommend this one, except it really isn't fit for making tiny tiny bits of wood for the stove if you are camping in the forest.
Winters 1 Posted March 17, 2003 Ginsu makes good knifes, you could cut a can in 2 and then slice some yummy tomatoes.
KingBeast 0 Posted March 17, 2003 Leatherman make great little multi tools, mine is eseentially a pair of good sized pliers that fold out and have all of the various attachments you might need, including a ruler along the length of the tool. Jinef 2 Posted March 17, 2003 texas criminal justice sucks - HAHAHAHAH Great joke! Anyway i just use a 3 inch stainles steel knife that locks and it's got holes in the structure. Some people collect knives, i just don't see the point. Especially when they say things like " a guy killed 8 people with this baby " Yuck!

That can be pretty dangerous to someone who just assumes the blade locks when opened.
Blaegis 0 Posted March 17, 2003 Sorry, hneel, but you really don't need a corkscrew to open a vodka bottle. All the classic brands have corks easily openable by hand with no tools necessary. But as far as multitools go, Leathermans are the best. Far superior to just the swiss army knife because of the of the pliers, wire-cutters and, of course, the locking blade. Renagade 0 Posted March 18, 2003 hehe they also cost a lot from when i was last looking at them I like the idea of the replacable saw blade on the gerber tool.

Gerber Multi-tools are standard issue in the Canadian Army. I can't imagine going into the field without it. Due to the sporadic issue of kit in the CF, there are a mixed bag of Gerbers. Old ones are shorter and have no locks, newer ones are longer in the handle and include locks (thankfully) some of the new ones are silver in colour, while others are flat-black. I was issued an old one but I conveniently 'lost' it on an Ex and was issued a newer, better one. From opening rations, sharpening sticks, cutting wire and string, cleaning your rifle and/or any other assorted weapons, and fiddling with the stuck cleaning rods on a C7 cleaning kit, the Gerber is one of the most usefull things I've ever been issued. </span><table border="0" align="center" width="95%" cellpadding="3" cellspacing="1"><tr><td>Quote </td></tr><tr><td id="QUOTE">Ran takes all the French bashing<span id='postcolor'> He, he, he...
