Albert Schweitzer 10 Posted February 19, 2003 Yep, this is another "get rid of your steam" thread with a little bit of "tell us about it". I hate being robed or stolen from... I remember many incidents that realy struck me. The first one was in boarding school in Ireland where someone broke into my locker to steal my Max Magazines. Why the hell would anyone steal magazines and risking to get kicked out of school? I can tell you why...because Ireland at that time was still so damn catholic that it was damn hard to find magazines with top-models such as Cindy Crawford and Naomi Campell in it. And unfortunately my German magazine was full of it. Oh and then a day later the same person did the same thing and stole my grandfathers watch... grrr I was ready to kick any irish cow and any irish farmer for that..but would it have helped? And the second incident.(and this is what has inspired me to open this topic)..happend to me during this night. I parked my car right in front of our hotel and still someone broke the back-window to steal my CD-player. So damn anoying...he didnt see that there was a camera worth 400 Euro lying right on the seat next to him..nor did he see that I had my Pc-screen on the back seat..he didnt even touch my CDs..no he had to break my window to steal a CD-player that hasnt worked for more than 3 months now. Â but of course with so many CDs lying around he probably thought that player is working perfectly well! Please tell me that I am not the only one being blessed with bad luck and often being the victim of vandalism.

ralphwiggum 6 Posted February 19, 2003 not trying to add insult to your wounds, but do not leave valuables visible to another person. a common sense, but sometimes hard to keep. whoever stole your CD's gonna realized his idiocy so that's a brighter side of the news. as you mentioned your magazine, kids in young age do not have self restraint and although the result of having magazine is punushment, still want to see beautiful ladies in bare clothings. heck, that's why guys act stupid upon meeting a beautiful women. i've never been mugged, and probably the reason is that i do not carry much and i dress horribly(former mathematics major ). so another lesson for others is that don't wear fancy clothes or drive a fancy car. my colleague who leaved in getto dresses up like one and never got mugged. bn880 5 Posted February 19, 2003 Oh yeah, you are not alone, over the last few years we've had 4 attempts to steal our cars. Every time, new locks, ignition, sometimes broken steering column and seats... idiots. Finally I scared some shitheads one night that I suspected were picking out cars again, and magically no more car thefts in my neigbourhood for about 1 year. That's my community service, chasing fucking criminals around... but I'v stopped doing that. People here are too god damn chicken to let criminals know they mean business. Die Alive 0 Posted February 19, 2003 I looted some baseball merchandise after a Guns n Roses / Metallica concert riot. It was a way to get my money back for a concert that sucked. And just last summer, someone stole my lawn jockey from my lawn. It looked something like this. Damn I miss that lawn jockey, it makes my yard so empty. Why couldn't they take the pink flamingoes instead -=Die Alive=-
FallenPaladin 0 Posted February 19, 2003 What I hate more than being robbed, are guys which damage your car and dissappear afterwards and can`t even been found by the police. Happened to me and after that incident I had to drive by bus to my business school. To catch the bus I had to get up more than 90 minutes earlier any goddamn morning!! Die Alive 0 Posted February 19, 2003 I'm happy I live in Canada. Â In Saudi Arabia, they'd cut off my hands for stealing stuff that was probably made by underage kids in a sweatshop in india. Die Alive 0 Posted February 19, 2003 See, they've (the rich baseball team) blamed (sued) the concert promoters for not having sufficient security at the stadium, the promoters were fit with the bill for the damaged and merch loss to the team owned store. Â And I didn't get a refund for my ticket. So I paid money for the ticket, the promoter gave money to the team for the loss goods, and I got some goods from the team store. cam0flage 0 Posted February 19, 2003 I study in a university, therefore I live in this big house with other students. Our house has something like 100 inhabitants. Well, we have 3 laundry machines for clothes in a room down in the basement of our house - there's also a room where one can leave his clothes for drying. When I moved here last October, the two guys who share this four room apartment told me that they always use the drying room, and nobody has ever stolen their clothes. Well, the first time I used that drying room, some sad individual stole my favourite jeans! It's kinda sad that a poor student steals from a poor student. Another thing, when I was something like 14, some Russians guys robbed me at the Central Railway Station of Helsinki. Lost something what would be approximatedly 7 euros these days. Assault (CAN) 1 Posted February 19, 2003 I despise theives, I really do. Especially people who steal from other people that have worked hard to earn something. I have had a few people scout out my house for different things. One time three guys were in my driveway checking out my mom's car. My neighbour yelled at them, so they took off. Anyways: I had a $50 baseball hat stolen at school, but the guy who stole it was twice my size and had some tough friends. I also had my $800 mountain bike stolen from the same school. The theiving bastards managed to break my U-lock. I have no idea how. My dad's 1992 GMC sierra 4x4 was also stolen 3 times, we never got it back the third. The previous two times it was found on an indian reservation in Brantford Ont. Go figure....... Hey Albert, maybe this link will cheer you up. Theft prevention. mr. Duck 0 Posted February 19, 2003 One time when I went to school I parked me cycle near a metro???station (eh, don't know how it's called in english, let's just say some kind of train). When I got back my bike was gone. Funny thing was... My uncle saw a man passing his house carrying a bike on his shoulders (wich looked like my bike) when I was still at school. He didn't know my bike was stolen then... Damned thieves.
PiNs_Da_Smoka 0 Posted February 19, 2003 First off, I am not a car thief (thats THIEF Albert, not theft). But I have been friends with people of the such throughout my short lived lifespan. I have even ridden in a stolen car twice, unknowingly. (I know that sounds hard to believe, but trust me, its true) There are only two basic reasons people steal cars and things like that. #1. Money. This is the obvious, obviously. Some of them are poor and for some reason see no other reason that they are able to get the money. They see it as a quick and fast way to get what they need. Some just need the money for money's sake, and others may need to buy their next crack rock. It varies. But, I have known a thief, that just got laid off at work, and was sitting home for 2 months without a job (he was trying very hard) and saw no formidable way to get money for his family. So what did he do? He jacked cars and brought them to chop shops on the south side of chicago. Steal it at night, get rid of it 20 minutes after you steal it, make anywhere from $500 to $10,000 in an hour. He couldn't resist. I oppose such things, but you have to admit, thats a sweet deal. Not too mention he was a pro, never broke a steering column or ignition in his life. #2. Its a drug in itself. Some people do it for the thrill. My friends brother, we'll call him Mike (his name is Mike ) did it for fun. The kid was only 15, and he was far from a pro, but he was somehow good at it. I am very serious when i say this, but in a 2 month period, I saw this kid steal at least 50-60 cars. Not once did he ever do it for money, he just like doing it. He did get lucky and steal a "transport car" with 10 pounds of marijuana in it once, but thats a whole different story. The point is, for some odd reason, some people just like boosting cars because of the rush it gives them. More then any needle can provide. I mean we were walking down the street once and i saw this guy working on his truck outside, he went inside for something and Mike just ran up to the truck, hot wired it, and drove off, only stopping to ask if i wanted a ride. I decline obviously, because thats not my thing. He drove it for like 20 minutes, and dropped it off on some street. He came back to my house breathing heavy and the first words out of his mouth were "Man, that truck was fucking badass!". It got him high, don't see how, but it did. The point of all this is, is that just because the car is in light on some street or its in front of a constantly monitored hotel, does not mean it won't get stolen. It doesn't matter if its in front of a police station, it will get stolen. (seen it happen on the news) So beware people, get car alarms (although don't really do much) lock your doors and get bulletproof glass or something. Next to electrifying your car when you leave it, there is little one can do these days to prevent theft. Be careful. P.S. Mike just got done serving a 2 year sentence in juvenile hall for stealing cars. He is now somewhere on the west coast with a friend running for his life because he stole the car of a big drug dealer in chicago. I guess he's got a helluva adrenalince rush now, eh? Nic 0 Posted February 19, 2003 I think what I find worse than stealing is vandalism without even taking anything. Ive had my vehicle's windows broken out before and they didnt even take anything. I mean..how much of a pussie can you possibly be...if you're gonna do it then DO IT. At least vandalise enough so that I can collect some insurance or something. And on a side note- I just love those people who advertise with window stickers on what kinda system they have in thier car...its like saying STEAL ME STEAL ME!
