The Normandy American Cemetery and Memorial France

Recommended Posts

This is the third and final project I am working on alongside my Welcome to Glasgow and my Bohemia Interactive Studios, this project will be for Iron front for Arma 3 by .kju and has been extremely emotional to build.

The first section is done with over 3300 hand placed graves each grave is placed with great care and consideration in the correct position as it is in real life as is the whole area(Omaha 144 map) if anyone has family or friends grave info I will lay a flower on their grave as a mark of respect.

the Normandy American Cemetery and Memorial is the burial site of 9,387 US military personnel who fought and died in World War Most of the graves at the Normandy American Cemetery belong to participants in the Normandy Landings on 6 June 1944 also known as D-Day

The Normandy American Cemetery and Memorial in France is located in Colleville-sur-Mer, on the site of the temporary American St. Laurent Cemetery, established by the U.S. First Army on June 8, 1944 as the first American cemetery on European soil in World War II.

An older video still hard-hitting and emotional none the less.

Where once there was war now there is peace now, a time to reflect on those who gave the ultimate sacrifice. Never forgotten always in our thoughts.

Respect.

Last month, my family and I visited the British cemetery at Hermanville-sur-Mer (4 km south of Sword Beach) where 1,000 men of South Lancashire Regiment, Shropshire Light Infantry and Staffordshire Yeomanry rest in peace.

Thanks, beautiful pictures, I would love to do a British one for our own brave boys we lost out of respect too but I'm not sure if there is a map for it yet. if there is I will be doing that too.

This is a prime example of the ways Arma can also be used as a virtual museum. Very poignant and important. Special thanks for including the Bushlurker statue too.

Nicely done, been to the colleville-sur-mer cemetery a couple of times, very moving and sobering place. Looks like you nailed it well, cheers.

@jezathanks, if you have any pictures that would be great, I'm trying to get it as real as I can possibly get it. @Vvalerie2 thanks, that's my thinking about this project to have it as a virtual museum as I'm sure there are many war veterans and families who can't make the trip to France and would love to see old friends and loved ones one last time and it was my pleasure to add the Bushlurker statue too he was an instrumental part of this great community and has inspired many people including myself to better themselves.

Yeah the grass looks so green from all the pictures and videos I have seen. Sadly I can't reproduce that effect.

It's evident that you've gone above and beyond to pay your respects to those who sacrificed so much during World War II. The attention to detail, with each grave carefully placed, is a remarkable tribute.
