Zhivets 2392 Posted February 26, 2018 I remember when an ITV documentary did the same thing some years ago. https://www.pcgamer.com/itv-documentary-cant-tell-the-difference-between-gaming-and-reality-mistakes-arma-2-for-secret-ira-film/
spooky lynx 73 Posted February 26, 2018 Seems that more and more TV companies use game footage instead of dedicated 3D graphics for illustrations. And due to general incompetence they forget to insert some kind of watermark stating that it's not real footage.

IMO using Arma or other Games for Illustrations or examples of how it could be is legit and reasonable. But this video was some guy playing the game normally with TFAR. They probably just cut that out of some youtube video.
dragon01 902 Posted February 27, 2018 Not the first goof of that sort. Graphics standards going up + reporting standards going down = this. It is a pretty easy mistake to make at this point based on visuals alone (you need to have either seen the real thing or played the game to know something's amiss), but someone should have checked the source of that clip. EDcase 87 Posted February 27, 2018 The issue comes with these reports claiming (or inferring) that the footage is real. Either the production team are idiots for not realising its computer generated or they think the audience are idiots.
