DSabre 2332 Posted April 30, 2016 I have no idea, the skin was made by someone called EAGLE in 2015. That's all the information I have : )
road runner 4344 Posted April 30, 2016 Very Nice buddy, will be a very popular addon for sure
Rich_R 1087 Posted April 30, 2016 You certainly have great taste in what you port over ;) Agree with the above, this will be a popular one! A few questions with the understanding I know nothing of modding; Is it safe to assume when you've moved on to something like this your previous ports are considered as final versions? I only ask as aside from the inital alpha, I tend not to download the alpha and betas in between. As the plane in this thread is a transport, is it possible or not to difficult to make it so a certain number of vehicles can be stored in it? Going further out on a wish list, an option of air dropping would be awesome:) But as I said, thoughts with no knowledge of modding:)
DSabre 2332 Posted April 30, 2016 Thanks mustangdelta, all my addons are somewhere around alpha/beta. You can use my personal version system as a guide: 0.5-0.7 alpha, 0.8-0.9 =beta, 1.0 and higher, =better beta. That being said no way of being safe with my addons. When I move on it means I got bored of the current plane. I ususally go back to it later. But usually frequency of updates decreases over time. This whole porting business is my way of playing the game. So no way I can tell what I will be doing tomorrow or in a week. I might fall in love with one of the older addons suddenly though and rework it with half a dozen updates. There are reasons why some people work on a mod for months and years or even have large teams. A proper, highly detailed model or cockpit for instance would easily take me weeks and months if I did it myself, frustrate me a lot and it might not even look good. That's why I am sticking to conversion addons ; ) finally, about storing stuff or dropping things: That is scripting/mission maker territory in my opinion. It would be an endless task for me to update the addons scripts with classnames of possible vehicles all the time.
DSabre 2332 Posted April 30, 2016 some progress has been made: working on the cockpit: moved all other parts into an edit layer for the time being moved flight engineer workplace into another LOD due to poly count remapping textures to the instruments, not sure if I really want to animate them all : P Gear animation is finished too. One of the less exciting tasks : )
[evo] dan 79 Posted April 30, 2016 I like you, I like you a lot with a all these planes.
DSabre 2332 Posted May 1, 2016 (edited) And I have similar feelings for Helijah, who made all of these planes and let's us use them : ) Made a sloppy CSAT texture. You are all invited to make a better one and send me. CSAT Fireworks added stairs And here is where I am going to get bored of this plane soon. I really really do not enjoy making turret configs :S Edited May 1, 2016 by [Dust]Sabre
pinaz93 1020 Posted May 1, 2016 Awesome work mate as always!
DSabre 2332 Posted May 1, 2016 turns out the tail turret is ok after a bit of playing around but the flight engineer is giving me more trouble. I had to delete him :P this is something for my UN faction, someday I have to have a look at that addon again : ) really liking the cockpit, someday I probably will have to animate some of the gauges
GamerOnkel 100 Posted May 1, 2016 also make them Russian textures
Derek Thompson 176 Posted May 1, 2016 Looks amazing! Animate the gauges and that cockpit will be me new home! :P
DSabre 2332 Posted May 1, 2016 (edited) that russian texture looks doable : ) what is that strange thing attached to the fuselage? Is it some sort of sensor pod - anyone know? the gauges... well idk, might do the falcon 50s first. somtime though. .. .. .. meanwhile: while I was at it I made the same liveries for the An-22 : D Before you all go crazy, the An-12 is the nicer plane. The An-22 has a much simpler cockpit and no cargo interior at all. I will have to make one up Edited May 1, 2016 by [Dust]Sabre
HillGamez 48 Posted May 2, 2016 the pod at the front mounted to the fuselage would more than likely be a sensor suite- Radar & such
bars91 956 Posted May 2, 2016 FINALLY! An-12 and 22 will do a nice job of complementing the sometime future RHS IL-76 B) and some 22 interriors: https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/2/2a/Antonov_an-22_cockpit.jpg https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/a/a6/Antonow_An-22_Loading_bay.jpg
DSabre 2332 Posted May 2, 2016 I've actually been inside the An-22 of the second picture a few times : ) Yea small problem there though, Helijah's An-22 has no interior currently, let's see what I can do about it, but do not expect a miracle
MightyDusan 7 Posted May 2, 2016 Awesome! Good job.
DSabre 2332 Posted May 3, 2016 (edited) ty, some more progress Chairborne helped me to put the engineer and navigator in their own LODs, had some issues with that. And I am very proud I managed to fix the main gear flap animations :D 1. extended and flaps closed 2. retracting, flaps open up 3. halfway done 4. retracted, and flaps close again :D currently hitting g key a few dozen times and admiring it : D Had to give the flap two different names in the model, and assign two different animations Not sure if my way is overly complicated, but it works (not necessary to assign two selection names, two animation definitions is enough) PS Turns out this was a really minor feat :P Just realised that my C-130 port has a similar animation on the front gear hatch/flap thing. Could have looked there all the time and could have done it easier Sort of reinvented the wheel, anyway still happy I managed :D Edited May 5, 2016 by [Dust]Sabre
