Operation Trebuchet - Total conversion mod for Arma 3

Recommended Posts

Once panel lines and such go into a normal map it'll start to break up the uniformity

of the specular.A little noise in the specular maps coupled with increased intensity around

raised/leading edges can help sell the impression of paint wear/metal exposure too. :)

There already is a normal map. You guys seem to think the textures are WIP, but they're finished. I'm working with what I'm given here.

ODSTs

Camo 1

Camo 2

Those camos are exactly the same, the only difference is one is in a yellow ambient environment and the other is in a white ambient environment.

Ok.No offence intended. :)

It's just the normals seem very subtle. They could be mistaken for the diffuse.

Since there's a bit of confusion on the state of the Falcon's textures, why don't we see it for ourselves in a variety of lighting scenarios when it's released and then give a full critique on it. I think we're forgetting that everyone runs ArmA with different settings and it's easier to judge it once you see it for yourself.

ODSTs Done. going to Update the list, here is what is added,

Good job on the ass photos, those are vital, there is nothing like futuristic soldier booty :p. Honestly though, you did get great shots that will help out for sure.

As for Falcon I guess I would need to see it the game myself. Great work still.

Now to bed

I personally prefer this ODST to the current one in the mod, as well as to the ODST's in H3:ODST. It makes them seem more like infantry and less

like super soldiers (I know they aren't).

A particularly interesting take on a scifi base design with realistic elements. I think it looks rather nice and fitting.

If you look at all the camo Patterns In reach, They are all exactly the same pattern I'm marking Variations in color schemes

Also, to my eyes in this picture, looks like a greenish color in this picture http://i.imgur.com/80MmiWr.jpg

Bungie used they same Pattern through out the game, they just kept swapping color pallets

Everyone keeps making fun of the ass shots. -_-

It is the only part of the body that shows the most of the color scheme. It isn't like I want too

little update to the vest, added in some pouches for you to store some mags^^ no more pulling them out of your butt.

Just joking around really. Good reference material is incredibly helpful when creating models and textures. You are doing excellent job with those pictures.

That actually makes them look a lot better. Not that they didn't already look great, but now they're looking spot on.

Yeah. All unsc personal used the same camo pattern. But just changed the color scheme for them.

The marines in halo: CE Anniversary uses a digital pattern that's color scheme is a darker version of the US Army's UCP. Most noticable in the boonie cap and bandana

Could we have the medic armor not be all white and just have a red cross symbol on the shoulders? Or at least just have the helmet white? The torso wasn't white ingame, and I think it makes them stick out too much in a game where camo can matter.

Otherwise, you guys are doing God's work. :D

Pretty sure all that needs to be done for the medic is give him the base uniform, the white helmet, and the special medic decals. Same goes for the ODST, running around in white armor in a forest is going to get you killed.

However, on that note, snow ODSTs would be really cool to see in the future. First I need to find some snow maps for ArmA 3.

You mean some Good snow maps lol.

All I know is they based the Medic off the concept art. But that concept art also had a MP next to him. So basically it was the concept art of POGs and Fobbits, not Grunts and warriors lol

Can the pouches have the straps on the vest attached? So that the pouches seem attached to the hard shell vest instead of popping out? Just my two cents...which is less than a dollar...but a penny saved....

Yeah. I noticed the pouches sit a little to low Thay they clip with the belt. In Reach, the pouches are halfway up the plate

Love taking all these pictures. I have so much reference materials to just show what I'm talking about instead of just trying to describe it ^-^

Looks like they finally added the H2A renders for The longsword to the wiki

It'd be nice to adjust them.

I'd prefer the pouches to stay in their current colors though, instead of being all black regardless of camo.

Personally I think the pouches look fine as they are, but if you want it to be exactly like the games you would have to shrink them down a little bit and then move them up on the chest plate. Otherwise they're going to get in the way of everything, the pouches in the Halo: Reach game are thin.

Well I learned from RL Experience In the Army, Giant Pouches on the Gut is a no Go. It Fucks up your prone and you can't reach your mags. It is easier to grab Mags higher on your chest or to your sides.

Personally I kept 2 mags On my Back that I can easily reach if prone or from my buddy to reach if we were running low in a Fire fight. Especially when I was the 249 gunner. Always good to keep a few spare 30 round mags on you

As you'll see in this photo, I had thin pouches on the gut and the Bigger ones to my side
