vegeta897 13 Posted March 30, 2015 Today I've discovered that there is no longer a dark theme/style available on the forums. This is really a shame, because it was so very easy on the eyes compared to any of the other bright themes. Is there any reason it was removed, and will we get a new one? bk1276 0 Posted March 30, 2015 I'm also interested in this.Yay! I second that as my eyes are getting shot these days and the bright styles are hard on the eyes
Von_Emmy 1 Posted March 30, 2015 I'd like to know the reasoning behind a possible remove of the darkstyle feature. - why? Also, i'd like to ask for a comeback or a replacement of it.

devilslayersbane 28 Posted March 31, 2015 I need the darkness back. It saves on power and looked better.

becubed 24 Posted April 1, 2015 I need the darkness back. It saves on power and looked better. It would probably only save power if you are still using a cathode ray monitor. Linky

Len55 10 Posted April 1, 2015 Darker was better for my eyes. Probably the age I'm at. But the choice is nice if its there.

vegeta897 13 Posted April 15, 2015 (edited) Welp, I don't see why it should take over 2 weeks just to get a simple response on whether it's coming back or not, so I went and made my own theme. StyleBot (Chrome): http://stylebot.me/styles/9606 Stylish (Chrome/FF): https://userstyles.org/styles/112710/bi-forums-dark-theme To use it, install the Stylebot extension for Chrome (or Stylish for Firefox). Or if you already have your own CSS plugin, just go to that page and copy the CSS. This theme just covers the basics: viewing forums, threads, and posts. If there's anything else on the forum you'd like to see darkened, or if there's something I missed, or if you disagree with one of my color choices, just let me know and I'll try to take care of it or make a special version for you. Note, you should have the "Bohemia Interactive" theme selected in the bottom left of the page. Other themes may work but are untested. phronk 898 Posted April 15, 2015 Works great, thanks man! Much better than the blinding white background.
Ezcoo 47 Posted April 15, 2015 If you want to enjoy persistent dark mode also on sites that aren't supported, consider installing f.lux. It's a program that changes the screen temperature based on the location of Sun (making the screen warmer during night), and also contains a lovely darkroom mode for hardcore users. f.lux

vegeta897 13 Posted April 15, 2015 (edited) Thanks everyone, I'm glad to see my work has benefited others. I just made a small update to fix polls in threads. If you're using StyleBot, I think it should automatically update you. For Stylish, you will need to go to the theme page and click the update button. Edit: And updated again (4/16) to make the poll bars a little darker to not be distracting. Edit: And another update (4/16) replacing the thread icons with darker versions. Harzach 2518 Posted April 19, 2015 (edited) Brilliant, vegeta! Thanks for sharing this. *edit* - I have to say, this theme is far superior to the original dark theme. Great work. **edit** - One small problem with text on profile page being the same color as the background: Edited April 24, 2015 by Harzach
