Autumn island request

Recommended Posts

Kegetys last year made us all very happy when he made his Winter Island. Winter trees, ground, it was very believable and made you almost cold when playing it. There has also been a couple desert islands where they replaces the textures. What I think would be nice is an Autumn Nogova island. Everyone loves Nogova, but if Autumn time just makes you feel good and I would really like to play OFP in an Autumn setting.

Anyone that could do this, what do you think? Trees with orange, brown, and red leaves, etc?

There will be no custom made Nogova Islands because of the legal issue that someone who has the original Opf could then use the Resistance Island without buying Resistance smile.gif

Somebody can still easily make a fake name, ect. and post the download link on several websites and forums though.

Well not really! U still need OFP 1.75 to run Nogova and you can't get it without Resistance!

The cpp can be changed to make it work with Opf, after all that's the way that user made Resistance addons have been altered so that they'll work with Opf smile.gif

Just encrypt cpp so nobody else can change it

Or just grab the .wrp and make a new config for it, takes like 5 seconds tounge.gif

But you'll still need the O.pbo because there are all new resistance buildings and Nogova without the buildings isn't just Nogova.

Is this BISs official view, or are people just guessing on their behalf?

Also, has anyone checked out Zafana...very nice, small island with all new textures... smile.gif

Do you remember Bis ever making any comment about any usermade addon?

well, in my humble opinion, Nogova is only a fraction of what i paid for in Resistance. Not to say its a small one, but I hold my precious pistols, updated graphics, new campain, and improved multiplayer quite dearly. The point being that any self respecting wanker who steals the island isnt getting nearly as much as what I paid for, and so it doesnt bother me to much. Plus, the island'd prolly be buggy as hell, without the swell new vehicles or improvements to the engine (such as boats that choppers can actuallly land on, and the new water, ect...).

the point is....I want that winter nogova :)

[edit: I suck at spelling, thanks]

The debate continues...

Maa asked BIS to compress his CSLA 2.0 upgrade's pbo so that pbo extractors can't open it. Kegetys maybe you should ask BIS to make the compress wink.gif.

But of course there will be a pbo extractor that can open any pbo file confused.gif...

But autumn island itself is a neat idea, maybe Everon one?

Unpbo extracted it fine after doing the same as with O.pbo.

There is a way. You can get "patching" programs that will do a checksum on the original file and then make the new changes to it. someone could probably set this up

So the short answer is: Kegetys won't release it in case he upsets BIS.

'Nuff said. It's his decision to make, and no one elses...

Everon is full of pine trees, which are ever greens, so they would always be green, so autum would be crap there :/

Nogova would be the best island in my opinion.
