ProfTournesol 956 Posted March 13, 2015 How does the general population in france view the Napoleonic era? My feeling is that nobody really cares (or even know very well what happened). Napoleon himself is seen as a great man of the past, as much as well known French Kings (François 1er or Louis XIV). Some more educated people know that his foreign policy was very agressive (and defensive at the same time), that he was a kind of dictator but that he did an amazing amount of reforms in France from which we are still benefiting. I don't know anybody that thinks that a Belgium coin about Waterloo is an insult towards France.

Tonci87 163 Posted April 5, 2015 Is anybody surprised? Russia is funding a lot of far right, or outright fashist groups across europe.
ProfTournesol 956 Posted April 5, 2015 To be fair it isn't a gift, but a loan. FN is struggling to get loans from more 'official' banks.

Thy did research about some questionable sources, some claims are called nonsens other known points are listed. The First Czech-Russian Bank is mentioned aswell, it belongs to a russian Oligarch but has no ties to the government which was reported in this article. Lets see if more details show up in the media about the sources and claims from these hackers and if it will bring more light in this case. ProfTournesol 956 Posted April 7, 2015 Interesting, but why? Can you elaborate more on this? I don't know exactly. That's what FN is saying. They always had financial troubles, they were even forced to sell their headquarter building in St Cloud. They are a small party with expensive ambitions, but i'm quite sure main commercial banks don't want to see their name being associated with this party. sudayev 27 Posted April 7, 2015 So you think it's because of political views financial institutions don't wasn't to associate with FN? In my view it shows how banking system is politically driven if FN has to look for funding in Russia or other ex-Soviet states. Financial institutions literally ruling the world, this what is happening. You support gay marriages and abortion, ok here's your money. You are anti-immigration and generally conservative, no no we don't want trouble try somewhere else... And here comes Putin with his money. It's wrong to think this country has low reserves and can't influence financially - in my opinion Russia still can.

mistyronin 1181 Posted June 24, 2015 (BBC News) US 'spied on French presidents' - Wikileaks Surprise, surprise... That remembers me when: (Computer World) Is French outrage against U.S. spying misplaced? The anger expressed by French officials following revelations that the U.S. National Security Agency gathered data on millions of phone calls involving French citizens appears misplaced considering reports of the country's own record of domestic and international surveillance. ProfTournesol 956 Posted June 24, 2015 For my part, i don't think it is misplaced this time. France officials being spied by NSA with the help of German services show how stupid and useless those information services are, spying with no other reason than they can do it.
