Multiplayer mode Idea

While I like the deathmatch favored servers [quick log in, quick fun, quick log out] - I think some form of inetrest for the altis life also comes from its persistence.

you log out, log back in the next day and you can further progress your char.

what about a perstintent game mode for altis where you choose from the 3 sides start as a recruit and prgress the ranks and the game mode is all about territories?

so we could have fun for hours. the game mode needs a saving function though. not that after 50 hours the sevrer crashes and we have to start from beginning again.

would love to see sth. like that.

could be called "persistent territory battle mode" - or so.

would give arma the much wanted RPG feature (char progression) along world progression!

would be cool to even have the possibility to save tents or make traps that last for as long as the map lasts etc.

could be a little much data to save -dunno about the technical limitations though.

duties could be not only stuff like conquering territories / cities - but also patroulling (earning ranks for beginners) or repair / reful stuff - support classes.

people could chose a class and progress it.

talking pvp here, but maybe pve could be an option too?

what do you think?

Sounds like an interesting mix of PvP + Insurgency style territory control (probably on a larger scale), as far as the saving, personal data tracking is easy enough through profilenamespace, however, saving mission status may be a bit tougher, but I'm sure information on that is out there already (just never done it myself :p).

The answer to the question I think you are really asking is which is most likely the answer you least want is

"Good luck with your project", mission designers tend to work on their own projects not others.

The only way to get this implemented is to do it yourself and its a lot of work

Mission times on my server last 15 hours and the server remembers the cash that you accumulate as you play, even if you log out and come back 6 hours later. That's the best I can offer you.

Sounds like King Of The Hill to me.. Level up your character, unlock new items, get vehicles, etc. But at the same time KOTH is pretty bland, not that much to do. Maybe get weapon and vehicle addons and such, maybe a whole new map, I think that would be pretty cool, especially considering Altis and Stratis are insanely boring maps.

No, no, we are not anything like KOTH and frankly I find that comparison insulting.

There is a mp mission like that on armaholic. I can't remember the name of it, but its built off of wasteland with territory control nodes or something that cover the entire map.

The thing is, if you peruse armaholic, there are lots of fun looking MP missions but they don't get play because nobody hosts them. I think the hosting is the barrier.

You can host them all you want but players won't join the server. Popularity needs to start with a community adopting it as their preferred mod to play on their public players, and then as players play it and enjoy it, demand increases and new servers can rise.
