Satchels sounds for resistance?

Recommended Posts

Regarding a previous topic:

http://www.flashpoint1985.com/cgi-bin....t=18004

I was curious as to how the progression of the Res converted sound pack is coming along. I used Satchels sounds way back in the first initial patches of OFP, then went off OFP due to my hardware being out of date. But from what i remember Satchels sounds were a MUST HAVE when playing the single missions of the game, adding greater atmosphere and actually enticing me to continue playing the game on my (what was) low-end system.

So here i am months and months down the track. I have a fully upgraded PC and a nice new copy of Resistance which i picked up for half price. Playing the game with the default sounds is a little difficult to swallow after once playing with the almighty sound addon installed. And from what i have heard the sound pack has now evolved remarkably into much more than just a few replacement sounds, what is this i hear of NEWLY added sounds for each individual action??? (drooooools)

So anyway, how is this Resistance conversion coming along? i am REALLY eager to grab the proper/final version of the converted sound pack, and when i say eager, i mean eager enough to visit this forum multiple upon multiple times a day for the past week just to download it.

Cheers.

Yeah just scroll down a bit on that page. Had to put it in weapons section cos we don't have a dedicated sound pack section yet biggrin.gif

If you have Satchels original sound pack for V1.3 or V1.46 you can just download the Resistance upgrade version.

not until I determine the config.bin changes from 1.75 to 1.85 and modify it appropriately smile.gif

It SORT OF works with 1.85. I get an error about a missing entry (shoot AI driver or something like that confused.gif ) on start up, but other than that it seems to be working fine.

Mind you, I only tested it on Battlefields and on a mission that I'm making smile.gif

As per this thread<span id='postcolor'>

can't be done. the slightest change to the config.bin causes that message.

Sure at OF InternalEditing will be the config.cpp for 1.85 soon

(like they have the 1.75 100% working one) but right now I can't access to the site

They change the URL again?

or it will be at LoneWolf's site

(those didn't work in a direct way like the InternalEditing one but they can be used for check the changes that have to be updated) Please PitViper can you make a list of them?

i found the "cfgvehicles\target.hideweaponsdriver" one...

big thanks to all of them!

all the res-command sub domains are down, and if you have binarize there are some very good 1.75 commented configs in the zip, much better than the ones on the breathe website, might help explaining what does what, is there anyone that can do basically what the battlesounds does but with all satchels sounds(so its just a sound.pbo replacement)? i know he modifies the config for some things but im sure leaving them out wouldnt do too much, at least then people could enjoy satchels sounds online

I thought battlesounds was a direct translation to sound.pbo of satchels?

ok.. I need someone to test this config.bin to see if it gets DR working with 1.85.  note that I don't have 1.85 installed yet, so I havent personally tested for any problems (I need you all for that).  It appears to have gone smoothly (thx Munger for default 1.85 config.bin).

This is not an official release of Dynamic Range 1.85. I want feedback to make sure that I have not made any typos.

I have a feeling that there will be a smaller BIS patch soon, so I will hold off on an official release for now.

Have fun.

Much obliged PV. smile.gif

BTW, Battlesounds is a compilation like Evis said, but most of the sounds are from Dynamic Range anyway since they were better than any others I could find.

I would like to add this:

</span><table border="0" align="center" width="95%" cellpadding="3" cellspacing="1"><tr><td>Quote </td></tr><tr><td id="QUOTE">I created the following subdirectories under the flashpoint base directory:

DynamicRange\bin

DynamicRange\Addons

in the bin folder, I only have a single file,  the new config.bin.

in the addon folder, I only have a single file there also.  its the DynamicRange.pbo

Make a new shortcut for Flashpoint and put this line to its command line:

-nosplash -mod=DynamicRange.

Dynamic Range should now work perfectly as a mod.<span id='postcolor'>

Thanks PitViper for your hard work. And of course Satchel for his sounds wink.gif.
