It took 3 Days of his/her's life to get the chance to play the awesome new A3L mod! I agree with ACyprus we should just fuck over the modders who spend countless hours, days, months and sometimes years out of their own free time to provide content that most users may over look or call rubbish.

Dude, I'm trying to be polite with you. Because at some point somebody is going to be blunt and it won't be pretty.

It's great that actions related to this thread have raised awareness enough for people like yourself to ask questions.

However, people in your situation should perhaps question their own motives and the greater picture here. There has been plenty of evidence to paint A3L in dodgy colours, not least the actions and responses of their project leaders on this very forum.

Coming here and offering additional information is a good thing but making demands which could be seen as naive, selfish and altogether disregarding the main issues here is not going to be received well.

Perhaps take a moment to read the entire thread and the formerly locked thread and then ask yourself what is truly right.

But in many circumstances you are obliged to pay. You admit this yourself in your phrasing of an earlier post. BI obviously also agree this is the case else they wouldn't have engaged the A3L team. The A3L team have also admitted this was the case several times, no matter whether policy has now changed - for real or just for looks.

I dont think I ever said it was legal to steal code man. My goal is to let you guys know that a lot of people want to play this game. So if you guys could make it your goal to take down the A3L team while still letting the game itself exist in some way then that would make me happy. I dont know if thats possible but you guys seem to know more about legal stuff than I do.

Dont you worry, the gameplay will never die just change server (hopefully with an admin that respect the law and the community). We shouldn't support anything ilegal nor should we support servers which do not respect authors wishes (RH as one example).

Well man I dont wanna knock on Altis life or anything, but in my experiences it not really role played well and A3L as I see it has kind of at least tried to increase the role playing with this screening process. The gameplay seems better than Altis too because, as you guys said, it pretty much is Altis Life with improvements. So can we start a movement for a better legal arma rp mod in addition to the legal movement?

definitely not banned man, I saw something about this thread somewhere, dont remember if it was A3L forums or youtube. But Ive been following it for a few days and have grown progressively more and more anxious as you guys seem to take more and more action toward shutting it down.

For those cofused about my intentions here, this post basically explained it. You may have missed it as this thread increased 3 pages in about 3 minutes it seemed like. You guys got fired up and I was trying to make sure everyone who raised reasonable questions received reasonable responses. Makes for a lot of chatter.

Explain to me how I have dug myself into a hole. I started in a hole and climbed my way out of it trying to convince everyone I wasnt an A3L supporter/Caiden. My posts were pretty much all replies to other peoples post to clarify my perspective.

I'm a bit confused by this...you say your not here to support their theft but yet you keep requesting that we either drop the whole thing, or we just continue what we're doing and allow A3L to keep running for the time being. All this just so YOU can have a good time...who cares what the rest of us think, or are affected by it. I find it quite humorous that they are having so much trouble with their servers, and I hope it ruins the experience for that whole community. No one here is trying to single you out, but you enter our thread basically in their defense...claiming what their doing isn't wrong. It may not be pay-to-play now, but I bet if you go ahead and pay Caiden that 30$ donation, you will have your application accepted much more quickly.

Also, you want to know why you like this A3L so much more than Altis Life? Because it is packed full of stolen goods that the community has worked hard on, whereas Tonic's work is of his own...and anything that isn't, he has directly gotten permission to use. It's pretty easy for someone to copy a gamemode and then stock it up on all your favorite addons/mods, then release it as a pack. So, why doesn't Tonic do this you say? Because, he's a respectable member in this community and doesn't use people's work without permission, actually smart enough to create things on his own. Do you see the difference yet? If everyone here used the same mentality as Caiden, then I'm sure this modding community would die out pretty fast...as authors would be less willing to release their content to the public, and reserve it for their own (private community) personal use.

Just an update on the situation. EU #1 and US #1 seems to be frequently down due to attacks. We've added US #2 to the launcher (not in banners yet) which will be the only available server tomorrow. This is on a new host. If this server is more stable we will switch US #1 and EU #1 to a new dedicated with that host as well. Open beta shouldn't be far away once this test is passed.

Quick update. Two new servers are downloading all the mod files and should go up tomorrow (10/31), together with Open Beta and the halloween update. We've also moved our database and TS3 to a new host.

Sorry for the delay, we have to make sure some kids don't take our servers down.
