[WIP] CorePatch: config patch for ArmA 2 OA

Recommended Posts

With corepatch 1.0.0.21, Bitter Chill mission of Harvest Red is still having major problems. No briefing notes, no tasks. And I'm getting this in RPT:

Great job with CorePatch, goliath86! I really hope it will be included officially with the game like CCP was. Here is two things that I would love to see done and what CCP didn't have time to do:

1) https://dev.withsix.com/issues/67651

2) Include hiddenSelections and hiddenSelectionsTextures for BTR-60, it fully supports it.

I'm also working on these fixes for the next version of CorePatch!! ;)

There is a huge amount of "ca\dubbing\..." errors in A2. It's very difficult to resolve all of them but I will try

A newer version of CorePatch (1.0.0.22) is available on first post:

- Really fixed "Bitter Chill" campaign mission bug:

The bug was not completely fixed in the previous version of CorePatch. Now it should be ok!

- Fixed two "Undefined variable.." errors on Shapur_BAF and Zargabad intro scenes:

Error in expression <rnal","back"];

_camera campreparetarget center;

showcinemaborder false;

setacct>

Error position: <center;

showcinemaborder false;

setacct>

Error Undefined variable in expression: center

File ca\zargabad\data\scenes\intro2.Zargabad\intro.sqf, line 10

Error in expression <ernal","back"];

showcinemaborder false;

BIS_WeatherParticles_logic setvariable [>

Error position: <BIS_WeatherParticles_logic setvariable [>

Error Undefined variable in expression: bis_weatherparticles_logic

File ca\shapur_baf\data\scenes\intro.Shapur_BAF\intro.sqf, line 7

- Added CCP feature Nr. 67747:

From CCP by Sa-Matra:

"I've discovered that BTR-60 model features hiddenselectionstextures support for changeable textures with setObjectTexture function. After playing around with configs it turns out that these two following config lines will enable changeable textures for BTR-60:

hiddenselections[] = {"camo1", "camo2"};

hiddenselectionstextures[] = {"ca\wheeled_e\btr60\data\btr60_body_co.paa", "ca\wheeled_e\btr60\data\btr60_details_co.paa"};

I suggest to include this in CCP."

Now it's possible to use the setObjectTexture function on BTR-60.

- Fixed CCP bug Nr. 69133 even relative to CIT bug Nr. 24844:

From CCP by Danil-ch:

"CfgVehicles - threat of MTVR faulty, it should be {0,0,0}."

I've corrected the faulty value with the one suggested.

- Added CCP feature Nr. 67651:

From CCP by Sa-Matra:

"Obs

For the sake of consistency, availability of all options and changes made in #64810 ticket I suggest to add alternative versions for all heavy weapons that will allow player carry launcher\backpack along with heavy primary weapon.

Exp

Following weapons are considered heavy:

  • ksvk
  • BAF_L110A1_Aim
  • BAF_L7A2_GPMG
  • m107
  • m107_TWS_EP1
  • M240
  • m240_scoped_EP1
  • M249
  • M249_EP1
  • M249_m145_EP1
  • M249_TWS_EP1
  • M60A4_EP1
  • Mk_48
  • Mk_48_DES_EP1
  • PK
  • Pecheneg

and should have smaller versions that will allow player carry launcher\backpack along with heavy primary weapon."

Now, mission makers can use the lighter version of those weapons that can let players/NPC to carry even a secondary weapon. The new weapons are:

  • ksvk_Small
  • BAF_L110A1_Aim_Small
  • BAF_L7A2_GPMG_Small
  • m107_Small
  • m107_TWS_EP1_Small
  • M240_Small
  • m240_scoped_EP1_Small
  • M249_Small
  • M249_EP1_Small
  • M249_m145_EP1_Small
  • M249_TWS_EP1_Small
  • M60A4_EP1_Small
  • Mk_48_Small
  • Mk_48_DES_EP1_Small
  • PK_Small
  • Pecheneg_Small

- Fixed CCP bug Nr. 69186:

From CCP by Danil-ch:

"CfgWeapons - wrong config value naming in M60A4_EP1

Obs

class CfgWeapons

class M60A4_EP1: Rifle

tMin = 1;

Exp tMin => htMin"

I've corrected the value with the one suggested.

- Fixed CCP bug Nr. 68114 even relative to CIT bug Nr. 15626:

From CCP by Danil-ch:

"Obs

The FN FAL has the firing modes semi and burst in the game.

The real weapon has semi and automatic modes.

Exp

FN FAL should have automatic mode instead of burst."

Now FN-FAL has Semi and FullAuto fire modes

- Fixed CCP bug Nr. 66695:

From CCP by Sa-Matra:

"Obs

M249 machine gun and child variants do not accept BAF DLC magazine 200Rnd_556x45_L110A1 as ammo

Original A2 M249 mg donsn't accept OA magazine 100Rnd_556x45_M249 as ammo

BAF DLC M249 should accept 20 rounds mag as well as G36 100 round beta mag and G36 SD mag

Exp

All M249 variants should be able to use all appropriate magazine\ammo variants."

Now M249, M249_EP1, M249_TWS_EP1, M249_m145_EP1, BAF_L110A1_Aim rifles can use this magazines:

{200Rnd_556x45_L110A1", "200Rnd_556x45_M249", "100Rnd_556x45_M249", "30Rnd_556x45_Stanag", "30Rnd_556x45_StanagSD", "30Rnd_556x45_G36", "30Rnd_556x45_G36SD", "20Rnd_556x45_Stanag", "100Rnd_556x45_BetaCMag"}

Updated version frontpaged on the Armaholic homepage.

==================================================

We have also "connected" these pages to your account on Armaholic.

This means soon you will be able to maintain these pages yourself if you wish to do so. Once this new feature is ready we will contact you about it and explain how things work and what options you have.

When you have any questions already feel free to PM or email me!

First post here after years of playing the Arma series, so it might as well be thanks for something. Thank you goliath86 :)

I can finally avoid clicking on basic A2 now for the last existing reason (the campaign bitter chill problem). A problem that is now actually fixed (just tested and it is now guaranteed fully playable here in v1.0.0.22).

The FN FAL fire rate fix is absolutely more than welcome "built-in" too, but is there an easy way to do it without blocking addon sounds from working? I use the J.S.R.S. v1.5 soundpack in my regular A2CO, and with the corepatch fix the FN FAL now happily uses the addon sound (as expected) for semi, but in the full auto mode it reverts to using the default gun sound. It`s the only reason I was using the TGW Fire Mode Fix (it`s on armaholic, but I can`t post a link yet) before, as it added auto mode to the FAL (using default sounds) and allowed any addon sounds to override both modes if used. I have tried adding the TGW fix after the latest corepatch but for some reason it does not override the corepatch fix, and being a 3d and textures modder, I`m not the best at working on script stuff.... :o

Thank you flyingpig! I'm aware of that problem and I'm working on resolving it for the next version! Don't worry ;)

Sweet. Didn`t want to sound like a moaning git on the first post, but I did try to say it as nicely as possible. I`ve worked with far too many other modders that would take offense at far less :)

I`m not part of this "last patch" beta discussion, so is this actually going to be part of it?

I'm not really sure that CorePatch will be included in next last patch of OA. I'm only sure that I will try to continue to fix as many bugs as possible ;)

Thank you again goliath, especially for fixing Bitter Chill and the CCP feature Nr. 67651.

Awesome work mate! I'm very happy if CorePatch would be integrated into OA officially.
