zippyo 0 Posted September 17, 2002 Hello there all I finally worked up the nerve to join this board. I have been hangin' out at OFPInternals but now that o2 went public, this is the place for 3D models. Well it's been just a few days but I gotta tell Ya Max4 is great but O2 lets you think simple and keep models on the low poly side. I come from Central Europe and I worked with cropdusters a lot namely the PZL M-18 Dromader and OFP' s engine allows me to have something like this for the first time in a computer game......well here it goes(remember just a few days work)... just can't leave oxy alone anymore.... zip
Konyak-2 0 Posted September 17, 2002 Zippyo, welcome to the forums! I must say it's good to see a fellow former pilot in here, and I'm sure your motivations for making things in OFP are very similar to mine (not terribly practical always ) Sadly, your links don't work, and I'm dying to see your cropduster.. Please fix them so we can heap praise on you Konyak
STS_SolidSnake 0 Posted September 17, 2002 Argh ! the images are broken and i wanna see this cropduster by the way, what is a crop duster ?

Actually I've made that mistake using the web page creator on Word for Windows trying to save pics with a web page. Wasn't until I tried accessing my web site on a different computer that I realized that the pic files weren't on my website. AirwolfPL 0 Posted September 18, 2002 PZL M18 Dromader: I think I can create one (but first I've to finish my PZL Mi-2 and Airwolf models ;-)
zippyo 0 Posted September 18, 2002 First of all I would like to thank FW200 who provided me with the opp. to show you these pics. well here she is....not too long now .... @Airwolf....hey there mate I would be absolutely delighted to see someone else's vision on the same object. nice to hear those other models are on the way too. I plan on making another extensively used cropduster/utility/transport the Antonov An-2 as well. One prob tho....the game's engine does not (yet?) support tail draggers but oh well. I shall keep Ya all posted... zippyo
Ruskiesrule 0 Posted September 18, 2002 lol, i was gunna say the model looked crap, then i seen the picture of a real one. Thats an amazing model, and plane. How about a resistance one with weapons? Sombody should make one that drops grenades, that would be good!
miles teg 1 Posted September 18, 2002 Any chance that you could model a Ayres Turbo-Thrush S2R-T65/400 NEDS (AY-65)? Info and pictures of it are available at: http://worldatwar.net/chandelle/v3/v3n3/articles/ayres.html and at: http://www.geocities.com/opus224/modernization-paf.htm (V1A Vigilante armed variant) These would be great for a OFP "War on Drugs" mod where you play the part as a DynCorp pilot flying crop dusting missions over the left-wing guerilla held coca fields (or marijuana fields using that "hemp" addon someone made). I already used a smoke addon someone made to simulate a cropduster with the cesna plane already in the game, but I never got a chance to finish the mission. I'll have to work on that one some more. DynCorp by the way is a mercenary corporation contracted by the U.S. State Department for various jobs ranging from military advising, to logistical operations, and all the way up to stuff like crop dusting. zippyo 0 Posted September 19, 2002 thanks for the nice words guys.....@Miles Teg , I had the same thought about completely finishing the duster with spray mist and such and I'm glad I'm not the only one who sees further off the main storyline here considering there ain't nothin' we can't DO.....I flew  and worked on these planes some 10 years so believe me I wanna make them look just right.... P.S.: The Thrush is a definite YES lol, she's a beauty.... zippy
Konyak-2 0 Posted September 19, 2002 That Thrust plane´s front end looks identical to the Pilatus Porter P6 that I modeled and is awaiting skinning.. Could be fitted with spraying equipment of all sorts I guess. Konyak
zippyo 0 Posted September 19, 2002 hey there konyak wussup (is konyak for brandy?) the pilatus is fitted with the same PT-6 the thrush is so the cowling would be just the right platform to start from.....seems you're just right at home with this 3D stuff, so maybe you can do a quick conversion....I could help skinnin' I love the pilatus... zip

zippyo 0 Posted September 24, 2002 oh me gowd....I'll never get to play OFP again. The Ag-Cat is another must. the M-18 is on its final leg now...so I should be getting on with the next project soon. too bad I have a real job as well...hehehehe cheers zip

Ruskiesrule 0 Posted September 27, 2002 and a download link? I have to use this in my campaign, can you give it some weapons? The Resistance need a small plane to do recon/mild ground attack.

But I need to do some experimenting to make sure I know exactly which one of the addons is needed to make it work. The only bad thing however is that it can't be triggered by pressing the fire button. Kegetys made a M113 that did that. Perhaps he can give you some ideas on how to implement that same capability onto your cropduster. That would be very cool. Some of the other .cpp script experts here might also have some ideas.
