HSO A3 SLA Pack

Recommended Posts

Set9_Logo.jpg

It's here folks! Thankfully Pre-1 didn't have any major bugs, so here's the promised Release 1.

What's Included?

-6 new factions! An organized military force and a guerilla group for each side. (Plus two "subfactions" on the East side)

--In the blue corner, we've got the Chernarus Defence Force and the Real Sahrani Republican Army (the guerillas from Queen's Gambit)

--In the red corner, we've got the Sahrani Liberation Army (ground forces, marine forces and air forces) and the Chernarussian Movement of the Red Star

--And in the green corner, we've got the Royal Army Corps of Sahrani and the Chernarussian Nationalist Party

-Several different kinds of troops for each faction

--Reservists using kit from the 70s

--Regular Infantry

--Elite Guard

--Special Forces

--Militia

--Renegades

-More weapons than I care to try and count (some of which are "real world" weapons, some are fictious, but heavily based on real world weapons. Nothing is included that could not plausibly exist in real life)

What's new?

Since Pre-1-1

-Most weapons and items have correct inventory images (various families of weapon have the same icon, so the icon for the AKM and AK74 are the same)

-Fixed the textures for RACS BDUs

-Improved textures for AR-15 derivatives.

-Includes bisign and bikey files (intentionally left out of preliminary release)

Source Files: (Meant to upload this yesterday, but I forgot)

https://mega.co.nz/#!7gMD0ShJ!_P7bx-HctGaiCw64bf53OSpWfynjeOrIX0nnn4wZLSE

Includes MLODs, configs, and some sample PSDs (I don't work in PSD format, so converting all the source textures would be a major hassle and massively increase the filesize. If you need a specific texture, throw me a PM and I can sort you out).

Share and Enjoy :)

An update with some vehicles would be great, at least vanilla Offroads and Kamaz trucks.

Love these units. Especially the old school reservist ones.

Gentlemen.

I have some good news, some bad news, and some very bad news.

The good news is, my computer exploded, and I hadn't backed up any of my work on this.

The bad news is, the hard drive itself was undamaged, and I was able to transplant it to another machine and back everything up.

The very bad news is, I now have a computer that can actually run ArmA.3 half decently and as such have had my desire to continue this project rekindled.

So, plan of action is this: There is going to be an update. It's probably not going to come out until after the marksman DLC, since I want to add proper support for #bipods (why is there a no. symbol in front of it, anyway? Is it one of these social medias I've heard so much about?) and such. Don't hold your breath for vehicles, but I might be able to get them sorted. Need to talk to a few people first, though.

But, I do have some things to show you, first, I know I said I wasn't going to do Takistani forces... and I'm still not doing Takistani forces, but I have done a new scheme for the CDF that's based on the Soviet Afganistan uniforms, tentatively named "Takistanka"!

Monuztb.jpg

(nb - the helmet in this picture is the SLA's M1953 helmet - these guys are going to have SSh68 helmets in the actual release, also replacing the M1953s used by Chedaki and NaPa - it's ready now, but I derped the config in the instance these pictures were taken in, so had to switch the helmet out to the very similar looking SLA helmet :p )

On the subject of the CDF, the SkSp have a new gun, the AR-SF, effectively a modernized Krinkov

RXPVb47.jpg

And, on the subject of Krinkovs, you'll be able to get those, too. Modelled here by one of these little green men who've been showing up amok the Chedaki recently.

Finally, since we can't let the ex-soviets have all the fun, there's some CIA Operators Mercenaries Security Contractors Independent Specialist Observers.

Hey, I'm having trouble downloading this (it looks very nice BTW). The armaholic link says it can't connect to database and the mega link won't load. Are there any other mirrors?

You should be able to get it off the SiX updater - http://play.withsix.com/arma-3/mods/5PWVyvYu5BGHBgAVF72WTA/HSO-ArmA-3-SLA-pack (I forgot to add the link to this first post, whoops :p )

If you can't use SiX, the Armaholic link should be working, I just tested it and it seems fine. Though I have noticed their page request site thingy (not an HTMLer, but I'm pretty sure that's the technical term) can be a bit temperamental at times, refreshing the page usually seems to fix any problems, though.

Hey D@VE. :P

Seems like I have some strange bug going on. All the vests are working fine, apart from Interceptor LRRP Vest and OTV which are for some reason invisible for me.

This isn't a bug per-say, the LRRP and GL interceptors were never finished, and just left in the config because it would probably have broken something commenting them out. This was before the virtual arsenal was added, so the only way to find them would have been to know the classname :p I'll fix them up for the update, since I think some dynamic missions will try to use them regardless.

£Bipods

It's supposed to be a pound symbol, right? An American told me it was supposed to be a pound symbol.

Is there way to make it modular? So I use only armies that I want?

Can't believe I've missed this, very nice addon. Quite excited for the update. Will the CDF in the Afghanka looking uniform have any markings or patches, or could they essentially be used as Soviet troops too?

I could, but it wouldn't really be worth it. There's a lot of interdependency between the factions (CDF and RACs share webbing, for example), so ultimately it'd be a case of having the core PBOs that weighs around 600MB, and a handful of faction PBOs that only weigh around 5-10MB each.

They could probably pass as Soviet Troops, there's a CDF flag on the shoulder, and American style webbing.

Oh, and they're on Blue, that might be problematic for some. Can't have those pesky lefties on the good guy side! :butbut:

So, I don't want to brag or anything, but... well, you know how the shotgun code from PMC was a bit lacking if you wanted to do anything other than 12 gauge buckshot? Well, I think I might have used the submunitions code to get the best shotguns in the VR engine to date. We've got:

Double Aught Buckshot

TT Birdshot (anything smaller would be a bit crazy - effectively 100-odd projectiles that that no damage whatsoever. I don't hate your processor that much :p )

Flak (probably not the right term, but effectively a solid slug that breaks up after 25 meters into buckshot)

and of course HE and Slugs.

I want to add stuff like dragons breath, but I'm not quite sure how I'd want it to work ingame (probably just buckshot that does more damage and has some fancy particle effects? Everyone loves particle effects, after all)

Of course, you need some new shotguns to play with these rounds, so here's the AA-12 forward ported from PMC (might change the skin on this, not too keen on the black - we'll see)

MRyJrHV.jpg

And a demonstration of the new logic (if it looks the same as it did before, that's exactly what's intended! You'll just have to take my word that far better under the hood)

gxWfCRm.jpg

And, finally, the Benilli M4, modelled here by these charming German fellows from South America, making sure NAPA are doing things right. Some may say slightly too far right for comfort. (Somewhat based off the "Azov Volunteers" in Ukraine. They don't have any controversial patches or anything, so I guess you could use them as anything if you don't like the idea of Nazis. They're on Green, so it didn't feel right having "good guys" like some generic European SF when a lot of folks are going to be using them for target practice)

uogX15U.jpg

(don't worry about that clipping with the helmet - I'm going to switch over to the BIS balaclava's because they're like a thousand times better than mine. Just haven't got around to it yet :p )

Most weapons packs have SCARs, a lot of weapon packs have a lot of SCARs, but only HSO_A3_Weaps can claim to have a slightly inappropriate number of SCARs. (image is over 300kb - consider yourself warned, if, much like the rules concerning image sizes in this board, your internet hasn't been updated since the late 90s)

And I haven't even added Mk20s, yet. (As in, actual Mk20s, not the F2000s we have now) Or the soviet calibres that FNH said they'd make and didn't. (Probably going to go with the fictitious designations of Mk18 SCAR-D and Mk19 SCAR-N)

Still working on this update, between satisfying my various hedonistic urges. Some more pictures, for now:

First, the SLA Marines now work with the alternate camo schemes. I could just have half-arsed this and have the NDPM texture just remap to the various army schemes, but, I'm not "that guy", the marines get all their own camo, that's how this works. So here's NCCPat, ODPM and UDPM

UBheDQH.jpg

Remember how the CDF Summer Pattern was terribad? Well, now it's not: (I mean, it still needs some work, but it's not "neon glamourflague" anymore, so there is that)

wfgBJ3N.jpg

RACS get new camos too! Urban T-Pat (because everyone else has Urban camo, even if it's not that realistic) and plain OD (

)

4lq03fN.jpg

Hey, nice life preserver, Kid.

fU64PLb.jpg

Finally, a little teaser: TakPack is essentially going to be an "addon for an addon", a few new hats and reskins (or, more accurately a deskin, since this was originally the TKA model) of the existing units for the Takistan Theatre.
