Janez 530 Posted May 27, 2014 Cool, you already posted. Could be nice to have infantry type Battlefield game if they sort the "netcode" out. Not much more we know about it though.

Mr. Charles 22 Posted May 28, 2014 I'm not convinced about this. I think the multiplayer will just devolve into standard 16vs16 Deathmatch/Objective base gameplay. Payday 2 e.g. can do these adventure aspects from the singleplayer better and you can be a sneaky robber. That can't happen in Hardline, but we'll see. Liking the ziplines and hooks tho! It seems like this is the EA takes on CS:GO kinda thing. I wouldn't be surprised if it ends up being the F2P title with paid lottery unlocks. I wouldn't give that much credit to Payday 2 in regards to adventure or sneakyness. They had a great opportunity to make some really neat mechanics, but in the end, it's either a great horde mode game or a broken stealth game with silly stealth mechanics. onlyrazor 11 Posted May 29, 2014 There's rumors going around that EA bought this.Police Warfare "A multiplayer cops and robbers FPS inspired by Battlefield and Grand Theft Auto" https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/policewarfare/police-warfare Oh, man, I remember that kickstarter. Thought it was quite a bummer when it got cancelled. Only now do I see it met a fate much, much worse than cancellation. (If the two projects are in any way related, of course)

Only now do I see it met a fate much, much worse than cancellation.(If the two projects are in any way related, of course) I don't see it being too bad as long as they don't go cuckoo with the weapons and gadgets that are available like they did with BF4. They probably will though because EA will want to sell weapon and gadget shortcut packs.

Lenyoga 326 Posted May 29, 2014 Good title for a porno. Seems like an interesting change for the series, though. Police Warfare looks fun so far, though.

Alpha Whiskey Romeo 17 Posted May 30, 2014 CAD has a comic featuring BF:HL todayThin Blue Line (CTRL+ALT+DEL) Pfft! That's accurate. It looks absolutely ridiculous. AH-9's, OV-10's and Police vehicles with M134's?! My eyes rolled when I saw that shit. Welcome to Battlefield 4 with a different skin on it. Didn't take long for Dice to turn into Infinity Ward, ahem. I suppose my dreams of a new SWAT game will never materialize.
onlyrazor 11 Posted May 30, 2014 I suppose my dreams of a new SWAT game will never materialize. Expecting a spiritual successor to a Tactical FPS from an action-oriented franchise is a bit futile anyway.
Alpha Whiskey Romeo 17 Posted May 31, 2014 Expecting a spiritual successor to a Tactical FPS from an action-oriented franchise is a bit futile anyway. I never stated that I expected such from Dice. Merely making a generalized statement.

onlyrazor 11 Posted May 31, 2014 I'm still waiting for a Deus Ex remake in UE4. It's not quite as cheap as CE, but apparently it's pretty robust and easy to use. Speaking of engines, I wonder what EA's business model for Frostbite licensing would be if they suddenly decided people aren't too stupid to use it.

DarkSynopsis 10 Posted June 2, 2014 Expecting a spiritual successor to a Tactical FPS from an action-oriented franchise is a bit futile anyway. I will be honest when I first read this title was about SWAT I was really hoping for something Tactical but after watching the "6 month old leaked" trailer my dreams got crushed, its seems very much Battlefield with a grappling hook... Eg. BF with "vertical gameplay" I love how everyone is jumping on this "new trend"
Janez 530 Posted June 2, 2014 This grappling hook thing seems terrible. Thats exactly what we need, more rooftop campers.
sesdelta38 10 Posted June 2, 2014 Despite what I said earlier, I'm actually cautiously optimistic about this. The leaked trailer for me was exciting as hell, but with all of the issues that Battlefield 4 has, I'm not sure if Hardline will be a great game. I guess we'll see. However, I'm not pre-ordering this.
Sniperwolf572 758 Posted June 2, 2014 Eg. BF with "vertical gameplay" I love how everyone is jumping on this "new trend" This is not "vertical gameplay", it's too restrictive to fall under that moniker. It's a mobile ladder that's been in BF circa 2005 and making a return, otherwise you might define any other game with ladders and tall buildings as "vertical gameplay". Hell, you've had mobile ladders modded in Arma. What "vertical gameplay" describes is speedy vertical movement which leaves you able to fight back. UT/Quake/TF2 rocket jumping/bounce pads, Titanfall wallrunning/climbing/jetpacks, whatever the new CoD mechsuit tricks are. A perfect execution of it would be , which came out like 5 years ago. jblackrupert 14 Posted June 2, 2014 (edited) This grappling hook thing seems terrible. Thats exactly what we need, more rooftop campers. BF2: Special Forces had grappling hooks and Ziplines which also allowed you to get onto apartment balconies and places like that. Worked fine there, the ziplines were mainly used to get to flags via rooftops avoiding vehicles. Edited June 2, 2014 by jblackrupert
