Gattobuono 10 Posted April 11, 2014 it's very important to support the greatest developers in the universe. Sorry, is that meant to be a joke? ... I hope so!
enex 11 Posted April 11, 2014 There is lots of things that they are doing right and some wrong.Nevertheless they are still great developers.I value their unselfish attitude with features which would any other more commercial companies use for milking money.Additionally they supply us with changelogs, SITREPs, SPOTREPS, interviews, live streams, their presence on forums, bug trackers... We should appreciate what we have and not be so selfish because we don't get things we want.
Gattobuono 10 Posted April 11, 2014 We should appreciate what we have and not be so selfish because we don't get things we want. I hardly consider it selfish to expect good quality content and good performance. I think you'll find that the majority of complaints about Arma 3 are based upon: poor optimisation, especially in multi-player, lack of content, bad AI, and clumsy UI. These should be at the very foundation of the game, they should be a given, and other expansions should build upon that foundation. Just because BI jolly you all along with their phoney sitreps, spotreps, or whatever you want to call them doesn't make then the greatest game developers. I personally would never pay for a DLC unless the fundamental flaws in the game are ironed out. If the game ran smoothly, had good AI and a more intuitive UI, then I might consider paying for an expansion.
CaptainObvious 95 Posted April 11, 2014 Sorry, is that meant to be a joke? ... I hope so! I can't think of better devs in any big company, what you had in mind?
roshnak 41 Posted April 11, 2014 I can't think of better devs in any big company, what you had in mind? There are plenty of moderately sized companies with good to great developers. There is absolutely no reason to get into an entirely subjective conversation about which company is the best. This is a topic that is guaranteed to descend into a stupid argument. Ckrauslo 12 Posted April 11, 2014 I would buy a good modern warfare dlc, that created new maps, perhaps in Asia (with forest like in Burma) Or south america, even middle east would be nice, or even back to places like a fictitious Ukraine, or a Venezuela with dictators....Good Civilians outfits "For more Covert ops" Perhaps some missions during a manifestation against the government... Imagine a scenario like this, the game start with you're team of black ops, in a car passing trough a rally of people manifesting against a dictator, and tanks on the streets, soldiers start to open fire against that people, and you and you're team is there to start the op to take out this bad guy...might be a very good history for a game of movie
xx_fr0st-w0lf_xx 10 Posted April 13, 2014 I would spontaneously combust if they make a 2014, Ukraine-Russia DLC on the island of crimea. I would be the happiest person in the world. On a side note I would happily pay for a contemporary dlc, but won't spend as cent on anything in 2035
Polymath820 11 Posted April 14, 2014 (edited) ArmA 3 is not modern war. It's the future, but if you notice in the "campaign" their equipment is "dated" meaning by 2035 based on what I know. http://defensetech.org/ Any of the weapons in ArmA 3 are probably 2016 - 2018 era or less. This is the sort of things you'd likely be seening by 2035 - 2040 http://defensetech.org/category/cyber/future-wars/ http://www.army-technology.com/projects/raytheon-xos-2-exoskeleton-us/ http://web.mit.edu/ssp/publications/working_papers/wp-00-2.pdf http://www.darpa.mil/Our_Work/AEO/Programs/One_Shot_XG.aspx http://www.darpa.mil/Our_Work/TTO/Programs/ http://www.darpa.mil/Our_Work/BTO/Programs/ Ebola 2.0 http://spectrum.ieee.org/nanoclast/biomedical/devices/nanomotors-could-churn-inside-of-cancer-cells-to-mush Give them their own micro-magnetic power-supply and self-replicating protocol which seeks out gold in the human body. You have a weapon that is immune to antibotics and antivirals. This is the real future of war and it is ugly. And based on the rate of change with technology. The Crysis 2 nanosuit type stuff probably won't be too far beyond 2050 - 2060. Edited April 14, 2014 by Polymath820

Polymath820 11 Posted April 14, 2014 (edited) Okay. No it probably will per-cursors to that technology are nanomotors (propulsion devices), artificial muscles (weaved carbon nanotubes, activated by electricity or heat) nano-batteries and piezoelectric nano-generators to recharge the nano-batteries. Nanites controlled by an on-board artificial intelligence system. Biological software <-> Hardware interfaces, BCI's (Brain computer interfaces connected to the part of the brain via non-invasive methods which intercept threat messages, artificial intelligence and immunology, to develop an artificial immune system which is not narrow band operation as in antigens and adjuvent enhanced vaccines. Which is easily over-run, no a system that is capable of storing genetic information about viral and other intrusions in full detail much like a nano-sized computer database and responding to them / analyzing them. Basic needs will be overrun by no-longer needing food for any part of the body as the nanites are capable of breaking down surrounding matter and assembling it at the molecular scale and synthesizing glucose using nanobots or nanites, for the brain. No longer suffer disease because of the advanced artificial immune system. Humanity will become something else. Skies the limit. And beyond. You only have to look at this every day: http://phys.org/ To know what is happening. http://phys.org/news/2014-04-week-bestquantum-mechanics-breakthrough-d.html The world is changing. Very fast you'd only need a few billion dollars and research teams to develop the nanosuit now with converging fields of research all moving towards one goal. Industrial Engineering (Solve manufacturing processes) Artificial Intelligence (Developed BCI's and genetic code interfaces) Mathematicians (Design optimization models) Computer Engineering with Biotechnological sector and bio / chemical computing research Nanotechnologists ( Design the machines involved such as the nanobatteries and integrate them into the muscles etc. To provide powersupplies, self-feeding nano-wires to connect to muscles and re-enforce them.) If people were to know of the true reality. They would be terrified. Edited April 15, 2014 by Polymath820 The reality is humanity is going to lose it's humanity.
