FSPilot 0 Posted September 8, 2002 So what's your favorite sound pack out there? Let's face the facts, the default sounds are just horrible. I mean, the AK sounds all right, like a gun, but the M-16 sounds like a spring-loaded paintball marker. I just got the Amon Sound v2 and it's... OK. To be honest, it sounds a little over done. Like in certain movies where you get a metallic clicking noise every time you move a gun. The sounds are much better than the default ones, but just don't sound real to me. But whats your favorite, or least favorite?
suchey 0 Posted September 8, 2002 I like BattleSounds v1.1 you can grab it from DigitalGrenade.com...Munger did a great job in putting it together.

Blackhawks, jeeps, tanks, going prone, grenades, etc., etc... But yeah, OFP:R's M16 & AK74 sounds are great.
Antichrist 0 Posted September 8, 2002 I already downloaded Battlesounds 1.1S, and now getting the one with original Resistance sounds for AK and M16.

FSPilot 0 Posted September 8, 2002 I can't find Battlesounds 1.1S anywhere. The site listed in the readme is just some page with "BONGHJERNE NR. 2" written on it. Anyone have a link? I downloaded 1.1 already, but I dont want to keep the default M-16/AK-47 sounds.
vektorboson 8 Posted September 8, 2002 Hmm, I would like to install munger's soundmod, but I want to keep my Resistance installation untouched! Since Resistance there is the command line argument "mod=" which let's you choose which Mod you would like play. So tried to create a new folder "munger" in my flashpoint folder and copied everything from the default folders to the new ones. I replaced the config and the sounds.pbo with the ones from munger. Then I tried to add the command </span><table border="0" align="center" width="95%" cellpadding="3" cellspacing="1"><tr><td>Code Sample </td></tr><tr><td id="CODE"> mod="munger\bin\config.bin" <span id='postcolor'> and all the other possibilities, and neither worked! So does anyone know, how to use the "mod"-command line argument and how to make it work with munger's sound mod?

bn880 5 Posted September 8, 2002 Yes, I'v said this before, Mungers Battlesounds are my fav. still.
Adviss 0 Posted September 8, 2002 bigpoppa-thats needless! mungers sound mod doesnt affect anything else than the sound.pbo, since it has no config file and isnt listed as a addon! just backup your sound.pbo from your dta folder (and if you dont, its on the resistance cd anyways, along with o.pbo...how many times thats saved me from screwing up my game, i lost count) and then put in mungers! simple...as that. You dont really need to put in the other pbos,as their just the new vehicles/steyr aug/g36 sound replacements, but i definatly recommend putting amons sound mod in, as it fixes the cruddy pistol sounds. Failing that, you could mix and match your favorite sounds (like meeee) but that might take some time, some hex editing, and config editing as well. ta-ta! munger 25 Posted September 8, 2002 My favourite soundpack is Dynamic Range.
vektorboson 8 Posted September 8, 2002 @Adviss I do want to keep my original data clean! But, who's is interested; actually, I managed to get the mod-option working. 1. Copy your Res-Folder in your flashpoint-directory and rename it to "munger" 2. Replace the files in this new folder as written in munger's readme 3. create a new shortcut to your resistance executable and modify the command line: </span><table border="0" align="center" width="95%" cellpadding="3" cellspacing="1"><tr><td>Code Sample </td></tr><tr><td id="CODE"> ...\FlashpointResistance.exe -mod=munger <span id='postcolor'> Then you can decide whether you play OFP:R with original sounds (old shortcut) or with the sound mod (new shortcut)! I think that MP-players should be interested in this and you don't have to restore the original files to install a patch.

Vikingo 0 Posted September 8, 2002 I like very much Dynamic Range. After a few sound changes I finally get the perfect mix for my ears (that is in 1.46) I think the best is use that for SP and some other than don't changes the config.bin for MP (ex: Battlesounds) The thing is that with the edited main config.bin that Dynamic use you get MANY other little sounds (even aleatory) that with the others MODs you don't get... Hope this will be exported to Resistance soon... I read and I was trying myself to export it but I always get hangs to windows. Only I get load the desert island in the editor I really hope that Resistance is not "protected" against editions to the main config.bin... Hope BIS didn't do that. I don't care in using it with MP just want Dynamic Range for Resistance SP!
