This addon aims to create a fictional army based upon the South Zagorian/Chernarussian region that has been created in ArmA 2, and is based upon fictional events which occur after the fictional events which originally occured in ArmA 2. This army utilizes mainly modifications of Afghanistan-era Soviet Arms, thanks to control of a few factories in the northern part of Chernarus. This release has infantry units and a UAZ, other vehicles will come later. A basic summary is as follows: After the ChDKZ forces were largely subdued by the combined USMC/CDF presence, a small pocket was capable of gaining strong support from Russia to take back the region of Chernarus, recieving support in the form of funds and arms, under the condition that the new army obey international laws. This new South Zagorian Army is meant to distance itself from the war crimes commited by the ChDKZ. These units should be compatible with ALiVE, please inform me if they do not work properly. ----- CDF and Takistani Army units are also present, using the AK-74 and AKM, respectively. They are on BluFor and OpFor, respectively, and are meant to be the main enemies of the South Zagorian Army, bordering it on the South and West, respectively. But for now I say thanks, and excellent job on getting these to work![/quote'] Yep, new vehicles are planned for later; in the meantime, its possible to use the unarmoured/light soldiers for each faction in place of officers, they're similar to how officers used to look in ArmA 2, but I can try to put in some more official-looking officials next update. (More vehicles) I'm thinking I'll try to do the BMP-2 and Mi-24 next, since both are used in some variation by each of the three factions. I will also try to fix the UAZ and it's sound issues. Officers and a few other infantry types should be easy enough to add in. However, since generals normally are surrounded by a mass of (to them) friendly troops, I say give them a powerful pistol for armament, and leave the bigger guns for the officers and regular soldiers. (that way it's also distinguishable on who's the general in the outfit.) After all, generals often let the troops do the fighting for them, but are armed lightly just for the sake of self defence. But I agree with Modder here, about the moustache-thingy; It certainly goes for the Takistani officer/general units, as that's a fact in real life middle-eastern countries, fairly recently noticed in Iraq for example. The more important you are there in an army, the bigger your moustache or beard is allowed to be. :) But for CDF a less wildly looking beard or neatly trimmed moustache would suffice.. As for PRSZ, again I don't know. Maybe the latter broke with that tradition? Anyways, just my two cents on the whole matter, feel free to do as you see fit ofcourse! I am of the opinion that I might make two versions of each officer, at least for the South Zagorians: A "parade" uniform for wearing behind safe lines, and a "battledress" uniform where they would have less of a distinction from regular units (After all, being flashy tends to attract unwanted *coughsnipercough* attention!). Takistan seems to be the kind of country where the officers would care more about being flashy than potential sniper dangers, though I'm not sure about the CDF. ---------- Also, I've thrown in a fix to the UAZ sounds issue, the download link is already updated. The Taki's could perhaps use "General/Commander Aziz" model from A2, if possible/practicable.. (if BIS' A2 sample models includes his model and textures that is.) However, so far I did encounter a minor bug which appears to have AI and player heads protrude through the beret's sloping side. (right hand side, as is observed from behind the specific units.). And then there's the oddity where the cap-wearing units have their forehead stick through on two places on the front of the caps, as is visible from a greater distance away, under certain angles.. Perhaps you already know this for yourself, but I hope you be able to fix these visual bugs on those otherwise great looking units. By the way, the UN faction is/was sporting (woodland) and (desert) subfaction names for the UAZ-469's. The former is appearantly crewed by PRSZ-UN units, and the latter by CDF-UN units. (if not the other way around, though.) Could those perhaps get to be respectively named UNO-CDF, and UNO-PRSZ instead? And whilst talking about vehicles; Could there be a (UN) M113 for (UN)-CDF, and perhaps a (UN) BTR-60 (former Taki model) for the (UN)-PRSZ faction? I know it's double the work, but both are APC's referring to the nation who backs them up, one being U.S.A. manufactored for CDF, and the other Soviet-Russian made for PRSZ. Would be awesome to have it ride alongside the mutually shared BMP-2 IFV, though. PS: It's not meant to demand anything, but merely suggest. But I hope you do not mind my tone, I'm just excited about all this that's all.. :) But ofcourse, good luck with the to-do list, or on whatever you wish to create that is. There are four variants of the sound, being normal and compressed (_comp) variants, as well as JSRS compatibility configurations for each. The default versions are present by default, and you can switch out the kae_sz_weapons_snds.pbo with any of the four versions in the "sound_variants" folder as to your own taste. I'm not sure about hats for the generals yet, but I will indeed be using the A2-style CDF general. I'll also see what I can do about Aziz. I may be adding Ushankas soon, as well. I'll fix the subfaction names for the UN units, thanks for letting me know. In terms of new vehicles, I can't say anything beyond the ones I've said I want to include in the future. I will look into the recoil settings for next update, but the RPK and AK-74sz type weapons are probably going to have it similar to what it is now; both variants are equipped with bipods and are heavier than the standard weapons, while having a small-caliber round (in the case of the 5.45, the rifle is well-known for being low recoil thanks to the muzzle brake and low recoil of the round itself.). Been a bit too busy to include vehicles this week, but I did throw in a bunch of things that were requested as far as infantry goes, including pistol holsters (both belt and chest), officers, ushankas, and a bunch of other things. I also found out how to make animations, so there is now a custom reloading animation for all of the AKs! A full changelog is on the front page, as there's been a bunch of other tweaks. Right now there are 6 ammoboxes - just for ammo and Ak74sz/AKS74sz etc - but they don´t show all the weapons available in your addon neither the uniforms =/ cheers!
