Tyl3r99 41 Posted July 27, 2013 simply add more sliders??? elevation 0 - 100 density 0 - 100 rate at fog changes? 0 - 100 i do not understand why the customers have to script theyre own fog to get a decent foggy experiance? what if i knew nothing about scripting or arma 3 was the first BI game i bought? id be clueless. (still am..) anyways just a thought, it needs to be added into the intel screen as there are a few sliders for lighting and stuff already so why not this? hmmm
tremanarch 6 Posted July 27, 2013 sliders = control = good
bad benson 1733 Posted July 27, 2013 yea i agree. and i was kind of expecting this to come with the final release. everything else wouldn't be very "streamlined" would it? :p
Tyl3r99 41 Posted July 27, 2013 i wouldnt imagine it would be hard to add in right? editing the UI and adding a script to go with each slider *MOAR* - love it!!!

tortuosit 486 Posted July 28, 2013 Agreed. Same goes for AI skill settings. We'd see much more diverse user missions as a side effect, because many stick with the defaults otherwise.
da12thMonkey 1943 Posted July 28, 2013 I don't do much mission editing but to be honest by not having a full fog slider in the editor I've actually started to think it's much easier to find good fog values using the Debug Console. Putting setFog in there allows you to change and observe the fog values instantly using the 'Local Exec' button, rather than going back and forth between the editor and mission so that you can tweak a slider and press preview to see how it looks ingame (which is what I used to spend time doing with the Overcast and Time/Date settings. When you get the values you like, you just copy&paste from the console, to a Game Logic or trigger's init line in the editor.

Maxzy 12 Posted July 28, 2013 So no ticket on feedback tracker? Pity. I would've upvoted it .
DaRkL3AD3R 1 Posted July 28, 2013 You're not alone OP. I've been wondering when the amazing new fog tech would actually be implemented in a more user-friendly way. Right now it's like only try hards who know all the ins and outs of Arma's scripting can even see it.

Dwarden 1125 Posted July 29, 2013 yes, for improved Mission Editor options (fog, AI skills etc) ...
Tyl3r99 41 Posted July 29, 2013 (edited) erm Fog should be controlled by mission scripting and weather modules etc. imho it's very wrong to allow players to play with this because resulting 'effect' is different from what mission maker or server owner wants ... dont worry Edited July 29, 2013 by tyl3r99 addition to post
HKFlash 9 Posted July 29, 2013 sorry Dwarden are you saying this shouldnt be in the intel screen at all? sorry did not quite understand He corrected his answer.
Tyl3r99 41 Posted July 29, 2013 (edited) He corrected his answer. well now i just feel like a tool now dont i.. lol so basically Dwarden agrees? yeah? Edited July 29, 2013 by tyl3r99 addition to post
Dwarden 1125 Posted July 29, 2013 ye , Dwarden failed to read properly (blame the hot weather) ... and though you want video options control, then i realized you want improved Editor settings, which i fully agree that it needs more and better setting on this and similar parts
