Tonci87 163 Posted June 14, 2013 S:HoWW2, FoW,MoW and it's sequel MoW:AS are sort of like Arma in RTS .... while CoH is sort of like CoD :) Well said I just love to take direct control of a Tank and blast away^^
bangtail 0 Posted June 14, 2013 (edited) S:HoWW2, FoW,MoW and it's sequel MoW:AS are sort of like Arma in RTS .... while CoH is sort of like CoD :)---------- Post added at 21:48 ---------- Previous post was at 21:48 ---------- I said aces ... this is just one ace ;) Kinda have to agree with this - I did like the first CoH but in the true fashion of stupidity, this game's major selling point (and something the publisher apparently thinks is some kind of epiphany) seems to focus around the fact that they have included snow storms (which coincidentally, according to the developer, are the reason multi GPU doesn't work). With ports, I really don't expect much anything anymore, but with PC exclusives I tend to expect a little more - I guess even that is too much to ask in 2013  I loaded up MoW: Vietnam again and am having a blast :D Edited June 14, 2013 by BangTail
-Snafu- 79 Posted June 14, 2013 You guys should give Combat Mission Battle for Normandy a go, surpasses CoH and MoW by miles (IMHO of course).
Sniperwolf572 758 Posted June 15, 2013 CoH1 is a great RTS in it's own right, while CoH2 seems like a sloppy attempt to cash in on the success of the CoH1. Basically in my eyes, CoH2 is to CoH1 as OFP:DR is to OFP:CWC. Comparing them to MoW or such titles is a fallacy as it's not attempting to play in the way those games do. MoW has more things in common with WiC than with CoH. Compare it to AoE, SC or the legendary Generals. CoH's gameplay forces you to play the objective and do something outside of playing a glorified base construction and piling up units in it until you can unleash them and win by volume. Victory Point control game type further removes focus from that kind of gameplay style. While you can ignore most of the holes in CoH2 and see the greatness of 1 in it, the interface and camera is what kills it for me. They styled it so much so it looks nice, they ignored the fact that you have to use it to play the game.
Tonci87 163 Posted June 15, 2013 Possibly the most untactical gameplay I´ve ever seen in CoH^^And he basically said that there will be a shitload of DLC, but that was to be expected with SEGA in charge (Just look at TW)
Smurf 12 Posted June 29, 2013 Related to MoW: Screenshot of the game that will be revealed on July 25th: http://www.digitalmindsoft.eu/outcoming/devupdate/mowa4/special_screen1.jpg Looking good.
JdB 151 Posted June 29, 2013 I just hope Call to Arms will be more like MOW:AS than the Vietnam game which imo lacked the polish of AS. @ Smurf: The graphical style reminds me of the Commandos games. Might be MoW2.
Zorg_DK 10 Posted June 30, 2013 I thought the single player mission was fun in the free beta, but multiplayer or skirmish vs ai was horrible frustrating as it's basically a race of who can click quickest with the mouse, stressful and awful gameplay.
krycek 349 Posted July 2, 2013 COH+Opposing Fronts+Eastern Front mod chews/spits/slaps COH 2 so hard is not even funny. This is the best they could come up in all this time?Performance problems for an engine that looks like COH1 and frenzy rush skirmish AI?I didn't thought this day will come after Homeworld,DoW1&2,CoH1 but the Derp is strong in Relic these days. Wait for CoH1 Ostheer mod guys, this crap isn't worth a dime. They didn't changed a thing from beta.
Smurf 12 Posted July 2, 2013 THQ was having serious financial problems when CoH2 was under development, then they had some unstable times and ended being bought by SEGA. Might have something to do with the state of the game. And I don't remember the last game that appeared on Steam as R$100 (when most blockbusters are near to R$80) + upcoming DLCs. Doesn't seems good at all....
