Muzza 0 Posted February 13, 2013 Throughout 2012 Arma was on the top 10 sellers list more or less consistently. New releases such as Max Payne 3 managed to creep above it on the top seller's list momentarily before being pushed down again. This must have translated into a frankly huge number of sales. Where the steam rankings accurate? How many copies did you manage to push in 2012? And how did this compare to the previous total? Personally I bought Arma 2 and OA at release, and I was glad to finally see the game get the publicity and praise it deserved.
metalcraze 290 Posted February 13, 2013 BIS is always tight lipped about how much their games sell although I guess they can boast now. All I know thus far is this: "Our games were selling well as it is but with DayZ... oh my" - Dwarden And that was 6 months ago.
froggyluv 2136 Posted February 13, 2013 (edited) Have to admit Im curious as hell about this also. Arma 2 has literally been on the top 10 since Dayz while other AAA titles have come and gone. Does that mean Arma has made more then all of them? Does that also mean that we can better rag on BI for features we want as they are no longer an impoverished small company? Oh goodie! We demand all the AAA thingies NAO!!! Edit: Or maybe they are still a small, humble indie office with 7 porsche's parked out front  Edited February 13, 2013 by froggyluv

orcinus 121 Posted February 14, 2013 Whatever the actual sales total, it's good news for BIS, for the staff, & for Arma devotees. A deserved success; BIS has supported and worked the community to an extent that is unique for any consumer software I've ever encountered (except community Linux, perhaps, but that's a very different kettle of fish). More cash -> more developers -> better products (did anyone say "Arma 3"?).
