ArmA 2 and all its glitchy glory! :D

Recommended Posts

Maybe im just an accepting person or maybe im now realizing im an ArmA fanboy o:

Ive been playing arma since Armed Assault and started ArmA 2 maybe a few months after it came out with 1gb of RAM and a 8600GT! now it was from there i was introduced to ACE and all the mods yadda yadda blah and i upgraded and run it well. All that AWESOME stuff that makes me keep playing online. I have noticed that ArmA is very lacking in alot of physics and is just straight up buggy in general. but am i the only one that just COMPLETELY forgot about glitches and just chalk it up to "ArmA logic"? lol i mean ill see DayZ forums and see people complaining of glitches and bugs and say ArmA is a buggy incomplete game and part of me wants to say "take that back :..C " I'm angered easilly but ArmA just fro some reason doesnt piss me off except for ONE time. Just when it kept crashing from MSO lol.

But i guess even though its super buggy, poorly optimized, requires a god like computer and now plagued by DayZ, Arma is just so fun it would seem i forget all of that. It is by far the best game ive played!

Anyone else share these thoughts of the Acceptable buggyness? lol

Pros > Cons.

Besides that, there is nothing to compare ARMA to with all of its features.

Hi and welcome to the forum.

Well you are definitely in good company we are all more or less fanboys I guess. I personally don't believe that the buggyness will ever disappear from the ArmA franchise. It's not possible IMHO. Think of the scope and size of this game, there's no other game out there which can compete. I do notice a lot of flaws which are still there from good ole OFP times. The game has improved and will further improve but I don't believe that BIS will ever get rid of the buggyness for being honest. So I live with that flaws because I know that there isn't anything comparable out there, at least I haven't discovered it so far, maybe someone can enlighten me.

In any case I accept certain things . . . others I wish it would get fixed for e.g. AI shooting AT weapons on Infantry. AI sometimes swaying of course from their set waypoints and the list goes on and on. There's simply no alternative and once you start loving this game you are willing to accept even the unacceptable. LOL. :D

Lol. Yeah because you don't have any other choice, why wasting time and nerves on a game. I'm playing for having fun and not withstanding all these flaws ArmA has always delivered it. Best game investment in my life. So I ignore certain things and just concentrate on other things for e.g. how to get the mission objectives accomplished without losing me men

I believe you either love or hate this game.

Pretty much "the best game investement in my life"

I can agree on that. No other game managed to hook me for that long.

I'm a fanboy since OFP Demo :)

sure there are some bugs, especially the physics weren't the best and also the AI pathfinding is sometimes very painful, but there are soooooooooooooooooooooo many features combined together which make the game so awesome!

Heh, yeah. I remember when Arma1 and Arma2 came out and me and a mate noticed some old OFP bugs and it made us smile, not get annoyed :). It just wouldn't be a proper BIS game if they where left out , they are old friends heh heh.

I think given the support we get and the sheer power and versatility of the game, we can live with a few quirks :) .

The bugs in this game never really got to me.

I was always able to find my way around them and enjoy myself. The moments make up for the bugs, there is nothing like sitting in the side of a Black hawk as it flies over the rich Takistan terrain.
