R0adki11 3949 Posted October 31, 2012 (edited) Intro After releasing all of my OFP addons previously separately, i have decided to group them altogether as an easier way of downloading them. *The Nogovan Republic Consists of Nogova, Everon and Malden. Brief History "Following the wars that ravaged the islands in the 1980′s, it was decided that the old militia system of weekend warriors with a minimum of training was insufficient to ensure the defence of the Nogovan Republic. Permanent armed forces based on universal conscription were therefore established, built around a core of former FIA guerilla’s and returned expatriate officers. The modest resources of the islands of Nogova, Everon and Malden preclude massive investment into modern armaments, leading to an emphasis on acquiring smart soldiers rather than smart weaponry. Rigorous and extensive training programs have been developed to ensure that raw recruits are brought to a high professional standard with a variety of military skills. In joint exercises with Western militaries Nogovan draftees have outperformed the foreign regular counterparts on multiple occasions. All soldiers must pass an extended basic training for a period of six months before entering advanced military training. Part of the soldiers are then enrolled in the combat arms, part in the supporting services. Due to the relatively long ininital training all forces have a firm background in basic infantry skills regardless of their subsequent specialisation. The main part of recruits enter the light infantry which provides soldiers with training for operations in both alpine and desert conditions. Nogovan light infantry doctrine places a high value on dispersed and independent operations by platoon sized units against numerically superior or more heavily armed forces, mimicking the resistance tactics developed in the wars against the Soviets. Part of the troops are assigned to the armoured corps, which specialises in combined operations with tanks and armoured personnel carriers. The Nogovan Light Horse endorses fast aggressive tactics to quickly disrupt airborne or amphibuous invasions before initial assault forces are able to establish a firm bridgehead. Its reliance on brute force contrasts with the more fluid tactics of the rest of the army. After basic military training and the light infantry course the best and brightest of the recruits can volunteer for service with the airborne company, undergoing extensive advanced training imparting airborne and amphibuous infiltration techniques, demolitions skills and use of foreign weaponry and equipment. Endurance and initiative are highly stimulated in airborne candidates, a high number of which eventually enter non commissioned – and subaltern officer training courses at the Viktor Troska Military Institute." -RuN- 0 Posted November 4, 2012 I had to replace the RKI_NLI_Des.pbo with the old one since some of the units wouldn't appear anymore. It's size is different as well.
R0adki11 3949 Posted November 4, 2012 I had to replace the RKI_NLI_Des.pbo with the old one since some of the units wouldn't appear anymore. It's size is different as well. Sorry about that, i don't have OFP installed to even verify what could be wrong with that. This is merely a collection of the all the addons i have on my hard drive. Could you tell me what units were missing? As if any significant units are missing i will replace with the old RKI_NLI_Des.pbo and update this collection accordingly. Also thanks for using my units, i didnt realise many people used my Nogovan Addons.
-RuN- 0 Posted November 5, 2012 In fact there seems to be only one unit affected, the Ranger SD desert. The message is "Error Loading rki_nli_des\rki_nli_sf.p3d(magic)" I hope this help, we all appreciate your work.
R0adki11 3949 Posted November 5, 2012 In fact there seems to be only one unit affected, the Ranger SD desert. The message is "Error Loading rki_nli_des\rki_nli_sf.p3d(magic)" I hope this help, we all appreciate your work. Thanks for that, ive added the fixed desert version .pbo to the pack and reuploaded it to http://naf.8bit-online.co.uk/files/ofp/@naf-ofpb.7z. Hopefully that has resolved the issues. kenoxite 156 Posted November 6, 2012 Hi, First, let me congratulate you for all your work. Also, apart from the desert units mentioned there seems to be a problem with the mig21, both versions (CAS and INT). Every time they're present an error window pops up that just says "Picture", and the mission shuts down. It only happens to the mig21s. The mig27 works fine. -RuN- 0 Posted November 7, 2012 I have the Picture message as well but only with the CAS version and no mission crash.
kenoxite 156 Posted November 7, 2012 and no mission crash. The crash seems to only happens when you pbo the mission, not in the preview. It makes the mig21s unusable, in any case.

I can only apologise for that, it was released in an as is state, as the addon was created by the Original Nogovan Armed Forces mod. I had never got round to fixing the bugs with the addon, and released it as a present to the OFP Sept 8th 2011 with the UH1. Otherwise both addons may have not been released, and since i have moved on to Arma2 it is very unlikely i will get round to fixing the issue.
kenoxite 156 Posted November 7, 2012 No problem, man. You've done an excellent work either way! Now, if someone can fix that small annoyance I would be extremely grateful. All my tinkering with the config.cpp file for the mig21s have been unsuccessful so far.
krzychuzokecia 719 Posted November 7, 2012 (edited) First: thanks R0adki11 for posting this! Also thanks for using my units, i didnt realise many people used my Nogovan Addons. It may be surprise to You, but in fact yours release threads had always caught attention of many people! In fact it was always one of my favorite addons, I planned to make some missions for it, but lack of time and skills prevented this... As for the fixed MiG and An I've send the files to R0adki11. R0adki11 3949 Posted November 8, 2012 (edited) krzychuzokecia has sent me the fixed Mig21s, An-2 and Desert Infantry, i will be including these in an update shortly, hopefully next week as ive been away for most of the week at a conference with work. Which is of complete contrast when i first started my Nogovan Units, as i was studying at University :) krzychuzokecia has also kindly offered to help fix other issues with the addons, which i have given permission for, also some additional vehicles maybe added to the pack to expand its playability. I had a discussion with him about this yesterday, and yeah, things are looking up. :) The bugfixes would certainly be a welcomed addition. We're not in complete agreement of what we'd like to add to the existing contents of the mod, but our ideas do overlap in a few places, so maybe we'll co-create a few more addons some time in the near future. I, for one, want to concentrate on finishing that Yak-52 you sent me and adding some currently absent ground vehicles.

I want to publicly say sorry for all of that, and I don't have any idea why I haven't contacted R0adki11 first - I have nothing to justify myself and I thank Max Power for letting me without any punishment. I hope that helping R0adki11 with fixing the addons will make up for the wrong I done.
kenoxite 156 Posted November 9, 2012 Great to hear that all was solved and that there's new updates being working on. May I suggest a small addition? Add the Nogovan vehicles to the WEST side also, please. That way we could have WW4 Everon army vs Nogovan one. Right now you can use nogovan infantry units as west, but not their vehicles. And, unfortunately, WW4 Everon units are all assigned to the resistance side. Thanks in any case and good luck!

We can take that request on Board, but at the moment we arent really working to any time scale, so couldnt say when updates would happen.
