_sherlock_ 12 Posted October 23, 2012 (edited) I can run OA and Arma 2 Free fine, but if I want to run CO is get the "The game is currently unavailable (Application running)" error! This started happening to me and my friend today! It has to be either the new Beta patch or a Steam update causing it. And please note that Steam asked to convert game content before this! Did you read the links I sent you? In that thread I discribe the exact same problem to Dwarden, find a workaround (provided as a link in my initial post) and Dwarden answered and elaborated the situation (also linked in my initial post). My description of the problem: http://forums.bistudio.com/showthread.php?73554-ARMA2-amp-OA-s-Steam-Thread-All-Steam-Q-s-discussions-go-here-covered-by-Dwarden&p=2241737&viewfull=1#post2241737 The workaround I found: http://forums.bistudio.com/showthread.php?73554-ARMA2-amp-OA-s-Steam-Thread-All-Steam-Q-s-discussions-go-here-covered-by-Dwarden&p=2242247&viewfull=1#post2242247 Dwarden's answer: http://forums.bistudio.com/showthread.php?73554-ARMA2-amp-OA-s-Steam-Thread-All-Steam-Q-s-discussions-go-here-covered-by-Dwarden&p=2242379&viewfull=1#post2242379 There is also this workaround: http://forums.steampowered.com/forums/showthread.php?t=2975783 In it a steam staffer confirms that Valve is aware of the problem and is currently looking into it. I hope this helps. Edited October 23, 2012 by _sherlock_
CarlGustaffa 4 Posted October 24, 2012 Was this beta removed? Just got a new PC up and running and was having issues grabbing it. After 30 minutes of web searching I finally tried the previous beta download, which did work as expected. Thought I had some weird Opera issues here :D
maddogx 13 Posted October 24, 2012 Thought I had some weird Opera issues here :D Issues... you mean apart from the fact that you're using Opera in the first place? :p Jokes aside, I just tested the link and it works fine.

I hope this helps. It seems that I have now lost the option to launch it as CO! However, I'll try your fix later, thanks for posting it! I just hope I don't screw up something else, cause it's already all loose
CarlGustaffa 4 Posted October 24, 2012 Ok, really weird. Now that one works, but not the two ones before it. Below it it seems fine again. Really weird. As for Opera, it has some features I now can't live without. Switching from XP and NView with proper XMouse functions to Win7 is also just horrible :p OH well, this is gonna take some time to get used to...
delta99 34 Posted October 24, 2012 This is a general beta question so hopefully ok to post here. Is it generally alright to install betas and still be able to connect to the latest release 1.62 MP games without issues?

metalcraze 290 Posted October 25, 2012 (edited) I like AI behavior in this beta. Attacking groups seem to move much more intelligently now, not charging the enemy like it was before and thus surviving better. Tested in an urban area on Duala 1.97 - the behavior was good. Can't say anything about performance hit compared to previous betas. Yeah FPS wasn't sky high but then again I had 60 AIs fighting with ASR AI and TPWCAS+TPWLOS Edit: Here's one more thing I've noticed with this beta while doing more testing. Due to AI now giving more priority to closer cover positions (as per Suma) they seem to stack along walls more often. Sure this happened once in a while before but now I observe such behavior much more often. It's a clear improvement as each squad now keeps a tighter formation in combat. Sure it can still use more polishing and especially the fix for https://dev-heaven.net/issues/25060 but it's a welcome side effect of the fix. http://i.imgur.com/Y77wp.jpg Edited October 25, 2012 by metalcraze
doveman 7 Posted October 25, 2012 The title of this thread anwers your question. It says: "ARMA 2: OA beta build 98220 (1.62 MP compatible build, post 1.62 release)" That's not completely true though as the betas break VON compatibility as they moved the port, so that you can hear people using 1.62 but they can't hear you. das attorney 858 Posted October 29, 2012 Lots of continuing LOD problems in this beta. Here's a small video of one such occurrence. Look at the rusty fence. eF61_Z86uU0 It's really distracting playing the game and having trees/fences/houses/rocks flick between LODs randomly.
